Episode 1 Review: Phuket Food Tour

Review of Episode 2. Review of Hill Myna Condotel @Phuket

At the age of 30, I had never been to Phuket. I flew to Phuket Airport and picked up a rental car (booking online is cheaper than booking at the airport).

Phuket is an island that I personally think is quite large, but driving around is not difficult. It took me about 10-15 minutes to drive from the airport to check in at the hotel (Hill Myna Condotel @Phuket Review). Then, I will take you all to Wat Chaithararam, which you may not be familiar with, but if you say Wat Chalong, everyone in Phuket will know it. If you are coming from the city, take Highway 4022 and then turn onto 4024. There are signs all the way, and the temple is on the left-hand side.

Wat Chalong is a very large and ancient temple in Mueang Phuket District. It is recommended to visit early in the morning, as there are many tourists and tour groups later in the day. If you want to take beautiful pictures, come early in the morning.

The weather today is extremely hot. The sun is scorching, burning our skin. However, after this picture, it rained heavily. It's hard to adjust to such sudden changes.

Next, I will take you south to Laem Phromthep in Phuket Province, which is still on Highway 4024. However, before reaching my destination, I noticed Raiwai Beach on Google Maps as a passing point. I managed to capture this image, even though the waves were constantly moving and the picture might be a bit shaky. Haha! It was around noon during this period, and it was drizzling. If there was sunshine, the scenery would have been even more beautiful.

From Rawai Beach, I drove straight onto Highway 4233 and headed up the mountain. I soon reached the southernmost point of Phuket. If you listen to the radio, you'll hear them say, "The sun sets at Laem Phromthep, Phuket Province, at 18:40." This is where people come to watch the sunset. But I thought it would be too crowded at that time, and I was worried about finding a parking space, so I came at noon instead.

I did not dare to go down to the panoramic view at Laem Phromthep because the ground was slippery due to the rain. It was not worth the risk.

In addition, there is a picture of the island next to Laem Phromthep.

The next destination I will take you to is Kata Beach. From Promthep Cape, I drove back up the left side of Phuket's coastline, skirting the beaches, passing Karon Beach, which is still on Highway 4233.

Kata Beach is incredibly beautiful. I love it. The sand is incredibly fine.

However, due to the inclement weather, we were unable to play in the water.

The waves were incredibly high and intimidating, yet some individuals still ventured into the water. However, it is crucial to emphasize that this is strongly discouraged, as authorities have posted red flags on all beaches.

Located inland from Kata Beach, accessible via Highway 4028, stands the revered Phra Phuttha Ming Mongkol Akenakkiri Temple. This sacred site features a majestic, large Buddha statue perched atop a hill, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere.

Upon reaching the Buddha statue, you will be greeted with this breathtaking view.

The last stop of the day is Surin Beach, which is close to my accommodation. My mood right now is as shown in the picture, absolutely blissful. You can drive there via Highway 4025, and you won't miss it. It's easy to find.

The last place I recommend for rare items is Ban Ko Sire (I put it last because I don't remember which day I went there, haha). Starting from the first place, Wat Chalong, you can drive and visit the places in order. However, I personally like this place because it is very quiet.

The Wat Ban Khao Si Rae temple is located in the eastern part of Phuket Town. To find it, follow Highway 5021. The temple is located on this road. The temple features a replica of the Phra That Intharawat Chedi, which stands prominently against the backdrop of the beautiful sea view.

During my visit, there were only my group and one other group of tourists, making it a very private experience.

The upper level also houses a reclining Buddha statue in the posture of the auspicious dream, which is enshrined here for the public to pay homage and worship.
