Hello everyone ^______^

Back to STOP ME again. Today, we will review the delicious shabu buffet at Penguin Restaurant, which we have visited at Terminal21 branch for the second time. Yay!!! Let's scroll down to see the food pictures!!

Menu

The restaurant offers a buffet with different price options: 359+, 459+, and 659+. The higher the price, the more menu items are available. Today, we chose the 659+ option because we wanted to try the wagyu beef and salmon. Additionally, those who choose this price option will receive 2 large fresh oysters!

Food and Drink Menu

After choosing a price, we can order food. The menu clearly separates prices. The 459+ price allows you to order from the 359+ and 459+ sections. Those who order 659+ can order from all sections. Drinks, beer, and ice cream are not included in the buffet and must be paid for separately. The staff recommends ordering lemon tea because it is refillable. It has a slightly sweet taste.

Soups and Dipping Sauces

The meal begins with two types of soup: clear soup and tom yum soup. The tom yum soup has a mild flavor and is not spicy. The clear soup is also flavorful, but we found it tasted best when combined with the dipping sauces.

On the table, you will find soy sauce, ponzu sauce, and a newly introduced shabu shabu dipping sauce. The shabu shabu sauce comes with coriander, chopped garlic, and fresh chopped chilies for added spice. We found the dipping sauces to be quite mild, so we added a generous amount of chili. Wasabi is also available for those who enjoy it with their sushi.

Fresh Oysters

The first dish served is Fresh Oysters. I must say that if you like to eat oysters, you will love this dish. The restaurant has already prepared it with a perfect level of sourness. The addition of roasted chili paste makes it even more delicious. Most importantly, the oysters are very fresh. They are chewy and have a very sweet taste.

However, if you don't like to eat fresh oysters, the restaurant will replace them with salmon sashimi instead. This dish is a promotional menu and is included in the price of 659+ only.

Shrimp Roe

Shrimp roe is a delicious addition to soup, enhancing its flavor and richness. For those who enjoy the taste of shrimp roe, this is a must-try. The chewy texture and rich flavor are sure to delight.

Wagyu

Australian Wagyu is thinly sliced Wagyu beef with minimal marbling. When cooking, simply dip the slices in the hotpot and remove immediately. Overcooking will toughen the meat and detract from its flavor.

Karubi Wagyu is a cut of meat that we are incredibly proud to offer. Its beautiful marbling melts in your mouth, and its thin slices practically dissolve on the tongue. The rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture are truly exquisite.

Wagyu Sushi

Wagyu sushi is a true paradise for sushi lovers. Thinly sliced wagyu beef drapes over small balls of rice, topped with crunchy shrimp roe and drizzled with a sweet and savory sauce. A sprinkle of fresh vegetables completes this exquisite dish. Just writing about it makes me crave another bite!

Salmon Sushi

Let's move on to salmon sushi. The picture above shows the Poppy Roll menu. This menu is special because the salmon is wrapped around rice, served with caviar and crispy tempura flour. It's a rather satisfying texture and the taste is sweet. It's so delicious that I can't even describe it. The bottom menu is Salmon Sushi with Saikyo Sauce. This sauce is similar to other restaurants, it's sweet and delicious.

Salmon Salad with Lemongrass

This dish is a must-try for salmon salad lovers. In addition to the salmon, the restaurant generously sprinkles shrimp roe for a delightful crunch. While the dressing isn't spicy, the lemongrass flavor is quite prominent, and you may find yourself with bits of lemongrass clinging to your food.

Jelly

Finally, we have jelly, a chewy treat that provides a sweet contrast to the savory dishes we enjoyed earlier. Jelly lovers will be delighted!
