Laem Singh Nature Beach Resort

I'm not sure where my friends went during Mother's Day weekend, but I took my mom and siblings to the beach in Chanthaburi. Even though it's a bit far, it's not too far, and the lack of crowds and friendly atmosphere of Chanthaburi make it worth it.

The timing was perfect, as the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was also hosting the Seafood Eat Local Meet Local event. Since my mother enjoys seafood and browsing local products, we decided to visit Laem Sing, the event's location.

Lobby Reception

We opted to stay at Laem Singh Natural Beach Resort, which is conveniently located within walking distance of the event. For those who prefer not to walk, there is the option to drive and park at the hotel. Additionally, bicycles are available for rent at the event, offering another mode of transportation back to the hotel.

House of Moon and Stars

We opted for Baan Chom Deuan - Chom Dao, which is not directly on the beach but within walking distance. However, it is located on the back road, making it convenient for the elderly as cars can practically park right next to it.

Living room with wooden furniture

The room is not small, as it is divided into a separate living room and bedroom. The living room is furnished with older-style hotel furniture, including a large refrigerator and a hot water kettle. However, there is no minibar. If you would like coffee, you will need to walk to the reception desk. In addition to coffee, ginger tea and bael fruit juice are also available. You can take these back to your room to enjoy.

Refrigerator and bathroom

The bathroom was spacious and I appreciated the non-slip flooring, which provided peace of mind when older guests were using it. The bathroom was equipped with a water heater, but the water pressure was weak, to the point where I wasn't sure if I could wash my hair properly. I ended up having to collect water in the sink and use a plastic cup to pour it over my head. However, the water in the sink wasn't heated, so after showering with the lukewarm water from the showerhead, I had to use cold water to rinse off the soap. This was inconvenient for older guests who prefer warm water.

We booked two rooms, a single and a double. My mother and I slept in the single room, while my younger sibling and their partner slept in the double room. Our double room was in poor condition, as the bedside lamp was not working and the telephone was missing, leaving only the receiver. When I informed the reception, she simply replied "Okay" and that was the end of it. She suggested that we use the phone in the single room to contact them if needed. If we had booked a single room, I would have had to walk up and down the stairs to communicate with them.

Double Room

The bedroom was illuminated by only two lights: the vanity lamp and the ceiling light positioned closer to the vanity. Consequently, the area near the window remained unlit. As a result, the leisure books I had brought along could not be read in bed.

In addition to the bedside lamp not working and the phone being unavailable, the bedside power outlet is also unusable. Only the outlets under the dressing table and next to the refrigerator can be used. Only one type of towel is provided, which is a bath towel. There are no hand towels available, and they must be requested from the housekeeper. Personally, I found the bed uncomfortable and it caused back pain. However, this could be partly due to the long drive from Bangkok.

The television is located in both the bedroom and the living room.

Single Room

Everything in the room is the same, except for the beds.

The door between the bedroom and living room is a sliding door.

The hotel's interior is pleasantly shaded, and the air is filled with the sweet scent of champaca flowers, which the hotel has grown to a large size. At first, I thought it was a frangipani, but the housekeeper told me it was a champaca.

Laem Sing Beach

This is the translation of "หาดแหลมสิงห์" from Thai to English.

The hotel's rear side borders Laem Sing Beach, but there is a small road and a low hotel wall separating it slightly. However, there should be more beach access doors between the beachfront rooms. This is because, to access the beach, one must walk to the end of the hotel, where there is a beach access door that is open in front of the restaurant.

The hotel has a swimming pool, which is not very big but it is quite beautiful.
