Readme before you journey
Initially, I planned to buy something to eat in my room. However, as I drove back, it started to rain heavily, and shops were already starting to pack up. Some shops that seemed to be open in the evening didn't seem to be selling anything yet. Nevertheless, I decided to go to my room first.
Upon returning to my room, I washed my face and eyes, grabbed a book, and planned to find something to snack on at the dining room before dinner. Looking at the snack menu, there were many items available. However, the most appealing option seemed to be fried fermented pork. I ordered it, thinking that a can of beer would be a perfect complement.
While I was sitting in the dining room, the same staff member came over and greeted me. Seeing that she had not yet finished work, and I had not yet reached my mealtime, she invited me to see the family room, which I had intended to see earlier in the day but had not been able to. I therefore postponed my snack, which was a good thing, as it allowed me to wait for dinner.
The family room, which is actually the entire house on the hill, consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, and a sitting area. The whole house is decorated with wooden furniture. However, in this house, we will only sleep on the lower floor because the upper floor is designed as an attic. Therefore, it is not very high. The bed is placed in a corner of the room.

The aptly named "Family Room" lives up to its title, offering an ideal space for families or groups of friends seeking a relaxing retreat. With ample room for shared activities, this accommodation fosters a sense of togetherness and connection. The spacious balcony provides a serene setting for morning coffee, allowing guests to soak in the breathtaking views and embrace the tranquility of the surroundings.

To return to the dining room, we had to pass by the conference room. The staff member suggested we take a look and mentioned that their conference room can accommodate over a hundred people. It is suitable for wedding ceremonies or other events, as their staff is experienced and fully equipped to handle all arrangements.

Exiting the conference room, we crossed the adjacent grassy field dotted with sets of tables and chairs. An official informed us that this area was designated for general guest reception and for conference attendees during breaks. We traversed the field towards the dining area, anticipating that it was nearing mealtime. We then dispersed and gathered at our respective tables.

Seated at a table with food already ordered, I gazed at the rain-laden atmosphere around me. It was surprisingly refreshing, the lush green of the lawn breaking up the gloom of the sky. The food prices weren't outrageous, and I was too lazy to drive out.
Besides us, there were other guests staying at the hotel who also used the restaurant for dinner. When the food was served, we couldn't help but chuckle because we hadn't canceled the snack order before going to see the room. The fried fermented pork sausage, therefore, came out and sat proudly on the table with the rest of the food.

This deep-fried fermented chicken sausage, served in a woven basket lined with banana leaves, is accompanied by a rustic selection of side dishes. Sliced shallots, bird's eye chilies, and cashew nuts come together in a symphony of flavors when scooped onto a spoon and savored. The temptation to reach for a cold beer is strong, but considering the feast already ordered, perhaps a change of heart is in order.

The aroma, color, and flavor of the stir-fried dish made me crave a beer, but I resisted the temptation and opted for rice instead. Trust me, this cashew chicken stir-fry is exceptional. The chicken, pre-fried before stir-frying, and the cashews, not overcooked to avoid becoming chewy, create a harmonious blend of flavors. The fragrant sweetness of the stir-fry sauce, made with roasted chili paste, onions, and fried chilies, is a delight. Paired with a steaming plate of white rice, this dish is truly satisfying.
The fried and stir-fried dishes were already ordered, so a soup was a must. Ordering tom yum soup seemed too ordinary, so I opted for tom kha gai instead, hoping for a small portion. To my surprise, it arrived in a large bowl. This tom kha gai was visually appealing, with a milky white color and no visible oil separation. The green bowl further enhanced its presentation. Despite its clear appearance, the broth was anything but bland. It was rich and flavorful, with a sour and salty profile followed by a hint of sweetness from the coconut milk and a touch of spice. It was incredibly smooth and easy to drink.

This afternoon, I received another basket of free longan from the resort, along with complimentary taro balls in coconut milk. I'm stuffed! I couldn't finish everything, so I had to take some longan back to my room. I'm full for now, so I'm going to bed. Tomorrow, we'll continue our journey on two wheels and two feet.
