Saturday, February 24, 2018

This trip, we traveled with Thai AirAsia X, departing from Don Mueang Airport at 10:45 AM. The flight time was approximately 5.30 hours, arriving at Narita Airport T2 at 7:00 PM.

Upon arrival, it was already late and, due to it being a Saturday, hotel prices in Tokyo were very high. Therefore, we stayed at a hotel near the airport before traveling to Tokyo the next day.

After finishing lunch at the airport, we purchased a Pasmo card from a convenient vending machine. We topped up the card with 1,000 yen, which included a 500 yen deposit for the card and a 1,200 yen Tokyo Subway 48-hour pass. We then took the free shuttle bus provided by the Toyoko Inn Narita Hotel. The bus stops at Central Exit, sign 31B, and departs every 20 minutes after 9 pm and every 30 minutes thereafter. We proceeded to the hotel.

End of the first day of the trip.

February 25, 2018

For this trip, we stayed at the Toyoko Inn Ueno Tawaramachi hotel, located in the Ueno district. We traveled to Tokyo on the Narita Skyaccess train, which cost 1290 yen per person and took approximately 1 hour. We disembarked at Asakusa Station and took the subway for one more stop to Tawaramachi Station, Exit 2. After a short walk, we arrived at the hotel.

The Nairta Skyaccess train runs from Narita Airport to Haneda Airport. In the morning and afternoon, the train terminates at Haneda Airport. However, in the evening and night, the train terminates at Nippori and Ueno stations instead. To reach Asakusa Station, passengers must transfer at Aoto Station.

We arrived at the hotel around 10:00 AM and checked in. After leaving our luggage at the hotel, we set out to explore the city. Before we started our sightseeing, we studied the subway map.

This trip will mainly focus on tourist attractions along the Ginza Line.

First stop: Ueno Park

**Travel directions:** Ueno Station, G16 exit 6. During my visit, the plum blossoms were in full bloom and incredibly beautiful.

Please provide the text you want me to translate.

From Ueno Park, walk across the street to Ameya-Yokocho Market.

The food we bought at Ameya-Yokocho Market

The lunch set includes ramen, fried rice, and gyoza for 550 yen.

Dinner options include salmon rice bowls and crab rice bowls, both priced at 1,000 yen per bowl. Strawberries are available in packs for 700 yen per pack.

The market offers affordable goods, making it wallet-friendly. After shopping, we returned to the hotel to sample plum wine, concluding another day of our journey.

February 26, 2017

After breakfast at the hotel, we visited Sensō-ji Temple, also known as Asakusa Temple among Thai people. We arrived early at Asakusa Station (G19, Exit 1) and took photos with the red bridge and the Asahi Beer building.

After returning to Zojoji Temple, we took photos with the iconic red lanterns and continued along Nakamise Street, passing various shops on our way to the main temple building.

According to legend, two brothers were fishing in the Sumida River when they caught a statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin. Despite their attempts to return the statue to the river, it repeatedly reappeared. As a result, this temple was built to house the statue of Guanyin.

Hie Shrine

Directions from Asakusa Station (G19, Ginza Line):

  1. Take the Ginza Line to Tameike-Sanno Station (G06).
  2. Exit the station at Exit 7.
  3. Turn left and walk straight ahead. You will see an escalator leading up to the shrine.
  4. Follow the clear signs to avoid getting lost.

This temple is renowned for granting wishes related to career success and business prosperity. Its strategic location in the heart of Tokyo's business district contributes to its popularity. The temple features a collection of torii gates, which, while not as numerous or grand as those in Kyoto, still offer picturesque photo opportunities.

As I exited the temple, it coincided with the lunch break. I encountered young office workers heading out for lunch, a delightful sight.

Let's have lunch at the Shijiki Fish Market before it relocates to its new location.

Translation:

Travel by Toei Subway Line E-Oedo Line (pink) to Tsukijishijo Station (E18). Take Exit A1. After exiting the station, turn right and walk a short distance to reach the destination.

We opted for the unagi don (grilled eel on rice) and unagi liver soup (no picture of the soup, unfortunately). The set cost around 600 yen. Personally, I found the unagi to be a bit too soft, but the soup was delicious – so much so that I didn't even take a picture of it. We also added grilled clams for an additional 200 yen.

This ancient house is located right at the entrance of the market.

Next stop, Odiba, is a personal favorite.
Directions:
Take the subway from Tsukijishijo Station (Oedo Line) E18 to Shiodome Station E19. Look for the Yurikamome Line sign. You can pay for the train fare with a Suica or Pasmo card. It's like taking the MRT and then transferring to the BTS in our country.

Odiba is a city built with various facilities such as shopping malls, hotels, and commercial centers. The primary mode of transportation in Odiba is the Yurikamome train line.

Our destination is U-07 Daiba Station. Upon exiting the station, you will encounter Aqua City shopping mall, the Statue of Liberty replica alongside the Rainbow Bridge, and blooming cherry blossoms.

Take a picture at the Statue of Liberty observation deck next to the Rainbow Bridge, then walk to Diver City Tokyo Plaza.
Have lunch at the food court and then take a picture with the Gundam.

To return to the hotel, take the Yurikamome Line to SHIMBASHI STATION (G 8) and transfer to the Ginza Line, getting off at Tawaramachi Station, Exit 2.

The first episode ends here. In the next episode, we will visit Kawaguchiko and enjoy the view of Mount Fuji.
