Readme before you journey
This time, we will take you on a relaxing trip to Koh Chang, Trat Province, for 3 days and 2 nights.
Traveling to Koh Chang can be done by private car, or by public transportation such as vans or buses.
For this trip, our friends who had cars were unable to join us. Therefore, we decided to head to Koh Chang on our own via the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) bus route 999.

The fare from Bangkok to Trat (we chose the drop-off point at the Center Point Pier) is 239 baht per trip. If you book a round trip, there will be a discount of 26 baht per seat.
This includes an additional online booking fee.
Bus route 999 will be the route that goes to the ferry pier. The morning trip will go directly to Center Point, while the afternoon trip will also stop at Ao Thammachat Pier.
We opted for an early morning trip to arrive at Koh Chang just in time for check-in. The departure times from Ekkamai are 07:45 AM and 09:45 AM.
The return trip departs from the Center Point Pier at 2:30 PM.
The atmosphere on the bus is pleasant. The bus will arrive and wait for you before the scheduled time. Upon arrival, please exchange your booking confirmation for a physical ticket at the counter and board the bus. You can choose your seat when booking your ticket.

The journey takes approximately 5 and a half hours, arriving at the Center Point Pier at 13:30. This allows ample time to purchase tickets for the 14:00 departure.
At the Center Point Pier, ferries depart every hour. The cost of a one-way ticket is 80 baht, while a round-trip ticket is 150 baht. The cost of transporting a car across the pier is 120 baht per trip.
A shuttle bus is available to transport passengers from the ticket booth to the pier.

The natural bay pier has more frequent departures, approximately every half hour, and offers a shorter travel time. The pier on Koh Chang Island is slightly closer to the community than the Center Point pier. It is a popular pier and can be crowded.
The boat departs on time and the journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
Upon reaching the shore, there will be motorbike rentals available (although the roads on the island can be quite hilly). There will also be songthaews (shared taxis) parked around offering their services.
Transportation options include shared songthaews, with fares varying depending on the distance to each beach. Passengers can provide their hotel name, and the songthaew will drop them off directly in front.
Regarding accommodation, The Dewa Koh Chang charges 70 baht for transportation. The vehicle departs as soon as it is full, which typically happens quickly due to the high demand for shared taxis.
The Dewa Koh Chang is approximately 30 minutes from the pier, about 15 kilometers away. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a refreshing drink and a cool towel.
The check-in and check-out times were perfect for us, as we arrived right at check-in time.

We stayed in a Deluxe room for two people with one king-size bed and all amenities.

Dinner time arrived soon. Our dinner was a buffet at the Charcoal Grill Buffet (759 baht).
You can book the barbecue buffet along with your accommodation reservation or order it directly at the restaurant. It is available for dinner, and the front desk will ask you what time is convenient for you, starting from 6:30 PM. Please inform the front desk of your preferred time.
As the evening sets in, tables are prepared.
Choose your preferred protein: pork, lamb, chicken, shrimp, or shellfish. Our chef will then grill it to perfection for you.
Other dishes can be scooped as you like. In addition to grilling, you can also order stir-fried vegetables and Pad Thai. As for us, we were full of shrimp.

Let's move on from dinner to the breakfast buffet at The Restaurant, the resort's dining room.

After exploring the resort, if you're too tired to go back to your room, you can relax and enjoy snacks at The Cafe, the resort's very own café.
This space offers a cozy corner for reading or enjoying a relaxing moment with cake and drinks.
Our menu features Black Forest Cake and Lemon Cheese Cake, accompanied by refreshing beverages such as Strawberry Blended and Blue Raspberry Smoothie.
After a short break, it's time for lunch. If you don't want to go out, you can order food from the resort and have it delivered to your room or eat it downstairs.
Enjoy lunch with a stunning ocean view. Lunch time can be confirmed with the front desk. Service starts at 12:00 PM.
We opted for two of the restaurant's signature dishes. The first was roasted duck breast served with an orange sauce.
The second dish was deep-fried shrimp with tamarind sauce. To balance the flavors, we also ordered a seafood salad. We enjoyed these dishes with hot steamed rice, making for a delicious and satisfying meal.

This swimming pool stands out for its natural color.
The open-air whirlpool bath is a great place to relax and unwind. I had a wonderful time soaking in the warm water.

For dinner tonight, we switched from the resort's food to Krua Gharavadee, the restaurant of the Ramayana Hotel, which is affiliated with The Dewa Koh Chang.
The Dewa is located approximately 3 kilometers away. Alternatively, a shuttle service is available between the two hotels. Please inquire about the schedule at the front desk.
This place offers a wide variety of seafood to choose from.
The first menu item is deep-fried prawns with tamarind sauce.

The morning of our departure followed the same routine. We woke up, had breakfast, went for a walk on the beach, and relaxed for a while before it was time to check out.
As we did not bring our own car, you can inform the front desk to call a shared taxi (locally known as a "tagsi"). The fare back to the pier is 80 baht, and the car will pick you up at the hotel entrance.
Excellent service at the hotel
The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly. My friend accidentally left their camera case behind, and the staff went above and beyond to help us find it. They checked the lost and found, searched the area where it was last seen, and even offered to walk us back to our room to look for it. When we returned to the front desk to thank them, they informed us that they had found my hat, which I had also left behind in our room. They had even called our room to let us know! I was so impressed by their attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile. This is truly exceptional service.
The return trip is similar to the arrival. The shared taxi will pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations along the way. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the pier, as before.
We purchased round-trip tickets at the departure point. We simply boarded the boat and noted the departure and arrival times.

Taking the bus back to Bangkok, a simple and relaxing end to our trip focused on rest. Back home, I already miss the sea.
