Hong Kong is renowned for its delectable cuisine, extensive shopping options, and convenient transportation. Our two-day, two-night trip to Hong Kong was a memorable experience.

The main purpose of the visit was to find photo spots, with shopping being a secondary consideration. However, there was no shortage of food options available.

Let's take a look at what we experienced during our short trip to Hong Kong.

Our journey began with an evening flight on AirAsia, arriving in Hong Kong at dusk. We planned to get a full night's sleep before embarking on our exploration.

The primary purpose of my visit was to attend the 2016 HKWalls event, an annual initiative organized by the HKwalls group that identifies suitable locations and creates murals on walls.

Given the well-known fact that the Peak Tram is often crowded in the evenings, we opted for a simpler mode of transportation: the bus. Bus route 15, which departs from the Exchange Square bus terminus, provided a convenient means of reaching our destination.

Take the MRT to Central Station.

Take Exit A and cross the sky bridge to reach Exchange Square.

Waiting in line to board bus route 15 to The Peak. If you enjoy scenic views, we recommend the second floor. For those with a fear of heights, the lower floor is advised.

The view from the second-floor bus is both beautiful and thrilling.

Upon arrival at the bus stop on The Peak, which is located next to The Peak Galleria shopping mall, you can purchase tickets to ascend The Peak Tower for stunning views.

Let's take a walk to the free viewing point. We'll follow Lugard Road, a popular path for nature explorers. Along this route,

Before descending from The Peak, we enjoyed a dessert.

Ice cream with Hong Kong waffles

On the way back down from The Peak, we initially intended to take the tram. However, considering the number of people and our reluctance to walk to the MTR station, we opted to return by bus as before. We boarded the bus at the stop where we had alighted, queuing for the number 15 bus, which terminates at Exchange Square. Crossing the footbridge, we re-entered the MTR and continued our sightseeing.

We have a date tonight at 8pm at A Symphony of Lights at Victoria Harbour.

Take the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

Exit L6 and walk past the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

The show began at 8 pm and lasted for 10 minutes.

After the dessert show at The Peak, we headed to the bustling Mongkok district for a taste of the city's vibrant nightlife.

Today, we're trying out the dim sum at Yum Cha restaurant in Langham Place. From Mongkok Station, take Exit C3 to enter the mall.

On the way up to the 4th floor, I happened to be there when they were holding a New Year's event with a Line Friends theme.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, you will be presented with a selection of three teas. Please choose one tea and your desired meal. Once you have made your selections, please signal a staff member with your order form.

Our food includes the following:

Custard cream buns with flowing filling, both cute and delicious.

The truffle e-fu noodles have a flavor similar to stir-fried instant noodles, but they are quite delicious.

The final dish is honey-glazed chicken wings, served with pineapple. This combination is equally delicious.

The cost was 287.10 HKD, which is a bit high, but the deliciousness made it worth it. I especially miss the stir-fried noodles with mushrooms.

By the time we finished eating, it was already dark. We strolled through Mong Kok, buying souvenirs and stopping by Sasa. We walked through the market, where the streets were closed to traffic and lined with photography businesses. You can visit them or support them.

A trip to Hong Kong wouldn't be complete without trying the local milk tea.

A glimpse into the first night's atmosphere.

On the second day, we will explore the Shueng Wan and Central districts.

Starting with breakfast, Sang Kee Congee Shop is a popular spot for early risers to grab a bite.

From the accommodation (or from Shueng Wan Exit A2), walk this way.

We ordered a small bowl of fish congee for 24 HKD.

After a satisfying meal, we embarked on our journey, primarily following the Hollywood route. We meandered along this path, occasionally venturing into the side streets on either side.

This historic Hong Kong street boasts old buildings, landmarks, and a trendy district featuring Hkwalls' 2015 annual art event. It also has a significant foreign population.

The cafes along this street are simple yet striking, making it a great area to relax and enjoy a coffee.

As an old street in Hong Kong, it is dotted with old buildings.

Man Mo Temple, a historic Hong Kong temple, is a popular place of worship for students.

The PMQ, a former police quarters complex, has been transformed into a hub for creative industries.

This street is also known for its impressive street art.

Walk to another popular spot for photographers, Duddell Street Steps and Gas Lamps.

This location also houses a vintage-style Starbucks branch, offering a nostalgic coffee shop experience.

Our leg rest point.

The next stop was Causeway Bay, where the main attraction was a Snoopy-themed New Year's event.

Located in front of Time Square.

This area is a bustling shopping district with numerous department stores. It is crowded, but there is a wide variety of goods available for purchase. Shopping enthusiasts will find this to be a great place to visit.

Take a short walk.

From Causeway Bay to Wan Chai, you can take a tram for a change of pace. During the day, the trams are crowded, so it is recommended to take a ride at night to enjoy the view. The trams run until midnight.

In the Wan Chai district, the main attraction is the Old Post Office.

If you are coming by MTR, take Exit A3. If you are coming by tram, get off at the stop marked on the map.

We passed by the Blue House, but we didn't stop to visit.

All the nearby buildings are painted in every color.

This includes tea, priced at 119 HKD.

After completing the task, return to retrieve the bag that was left in the morning and then travel to the airport. We will use the same Airport Express method to return, topping up the card. The top-up amount can be either 50 or 100 HKD.

In summary, purchasing a 250 baht card and topping it up with 150 baht for bus, tram, and Airport Express return trips is equivalent to buying a 350 baht round-trip Travel Pass and topping it up with 50 baht for additional bus or other transportation. Therefore, either option is suitable, except when traveling exclusively by MTR, where a round-trip pass is more cost-effective.

To receive a refund, please proceed to the Airport Express counter on the arrival level. You will receive a refund of 50 baht, with the remaining balance being a small unused amount.
