This Saturday, we're taking a short trip from Bangkok. Due to limited budget and time, we're opting for a nearby destination. Coincidentally, we recently acquired a new toy, so we decided to test it out. Drumroll, please... our destination is "Talat Rot So 122", also known as "Talat Bang Luang Rot So 122", located in Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province. What's so special about this market? Why are we visiting? According to our research, this market is an ancient Chinese community situated along the river. As the sign indicates, it's the "Old House of the Teochew People".

The location is even more famous for being the filming location for many movies and TV series, the most famous of which is the city of Phol in Kham Phaen. Then, let's stop by Father Pan's coffee shop.

The real name of the shop is Jia Shun Ji, which is difficult to pronounce.

Authentic Thai coffee is truly delicious.

While walking to order coffee, an elderly woman approached me and said, "My fried spring rolls are delicious, you know." She repeated, "My fried spring rolls are really delicious!" The woman then shared her story. She is 87 years old and sells fried spring rolls every day. She enjoys talking to people while walking. She mentioned that many people come to the town to film movies and take pictures of her. She has become a local celebrity in the city of Phloen. (You can watch the interview with her at the end of the clip.)

This is grandma's fried spring rolls for 20 baht. They are very delicious. Remember this grandma, you must try them! 55555

The houses are still wooden, reminiscent of an ancient Chinese community. The names of the shops are also Chinese, and the pronunciation is a bit off. It's a community-based tourism experience, something like that. The pictures show scenes of old wooden houses, just like we see in dramas, but these are real houses where people live and sell things. It's like stepping into a drama. The people seem friendly and, well, a bit older.

By the riverside, there is a shrine dedicated to the goddess Thap Thim for worship.

I then walked to find some food. There were delicious snacks sold all along the way. I bought some and sat down to eat on a public raft. The breeze was cool, and I could feed the fish (there were many and they were very large).

Local here :)

I have eaten about this much. There are actually many more things I want to eat, but I'm afraid my stomach will burst.

This presentation is delicious. My brother said that the dish with young morning glory is even better, but it was sold out, so I didn't get to try it. However, this dish with [name of the vegetable] is also very tasty.

The market is now closed. It was a great experience with delicious food and friendly people. You can check out the atmosphere and full pictures here:
