Visiting the Largest Wind Turbine Field in ASEAN: Thep Sathit, Chaiyaphum

Witness the largest wind turbine farm in ASEAN at the "Khao Phanum Dom" viewpoint in Pa Hin Ngam National Park.

Khao Phanum Dom is located within the Khao Phanum Dom Forest Protection Unit, serving as another tourist attraction in Pa Hin Ngam National Park, Thepsathit District, Chaiyaphum Province.

Phnom Dom Mountain, with an altitude of approximately 600 meters above sea level, is a lush and verdant forest.

Mount Phnum Dom stands tall and majestic, as seen from Thep Sathit district.

The ascent involves a hike along a designated path created by park rangers, including some sections requiring steep rock climbing. The experience is akin to climbing the cliffs of Phu Kradueng, but with a shorter distance. Nevertheless, the breathtaking scenery here is unrivaled anywhere else in the world.

The summit boasts a spacious clearing with a natural pond, diverse flora, and curiously shaped rocks. Notably, it offers the most breathtaking panoramic views of the wind turbines in Thepsathit district.

Thep Sathit district is characterized by strong winds, which have been harnessed to generate electricity, a clean energy source.

The proliferation of wind turbines for electricity generation has transformed Amphoe Thep Sathit into a "City of Wind Turbines".

The wind farm in Thepsathit district, Chaiyaphum province, is the largest wind farm in ASEAN.

To reach the Khao Phanom Dom viewpoint, please contact the Tourist Service Center of Pa Hin Ngam National Park (Tung Bua Daeng). The center will then coordinate with the Khao Phanom Dom Forest Protection Unit.

To prepare for the hike, wear appropriate clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. It is crucial to strictly follow the instructions of the park rangers.

Besides being the largest wind turbine viewpoint in ASEAN, Khao Phano Dom is also a stunning location to witness both sunrises and sunsets.

Waking up early, we walked to breathe in the fresh air and see the wind turbine field of the city of Thepsathit at the eastern wind turbine viewpoint.

This trip was amazing! It took about 2 hours to hike from the base to the "Pha เก็บตะวัน" viewpoint, and about 30 minutes from the campsite (1) to the wind turbine viewpoint (east side). Adventure enthusiasts should not miss this, as it feels like climbing Phu Kradueng, but the scenery here is truly unique.
