Have you ever heard of a flower that is known as the "Queen of the Rainforest"?
That flower is a ginger lily. Every time the rainy season arrives, I always want to visit the ginger lily field.
The Chaiyaphum Krasiao Blossom Festival 2018 will take place from June 1st to August 31st.
The siam tulip blooms only from the middle to the end of the rainy season.
This trip, we will travel to Chaiyaphum for 3 days and 2 nights. Where will we go, eat, and sleep? Get ready and let's go on a journey together.

Day 1
We departed from Bangkok at 3:30 AM and estimated our arrival at Thung Thong National Park to be no later than 9:00 AM.
However, due to the long holiday weekend for Asalha Puja Day, traffic was congested from Bang Pa-in to Lopburi.
We arrived at Sai Thong National Park at 10:30 AM.
We parked our car in front of the tourist service center. Since the field of Siam tulips is located on a hill, we had to take a park shuttle to get there. Tickets can be purchased at the tourist service center. A round-trip ticket costs 60 baht per person. If you have a large vehicle or a 4WD, you can drive up yourself. However, ordinary cars are not recommended, as you will have to drive through a stream.
After a 12-kilometer drive, we arrived at the entrance to the field of Siam tulips. We stopped for lunch nearby, where most of the options were made-to-order dishes, som tam (papaya salad), and grilled chicken.
Our stomachs full, we set off on foot towards our destination, the heavenly lotus field, a distance of almost 2 kilometers.
The trail is mostly dirt with some rocky sections, but overall it is easy to walk on.
On the way to Thung Bua Sawan 2, there are scattered white ginger lilies in bloom.
We have arrived at Thung Bua Sawan. Two lotuses are in full bloom, while some have partially withered.
We walked for about another kilometer and arrived at the first field of "Bua Sawan" flowers. The sight was breathtaking! The field was full of blooming flowers, the pink of the "Kra Jiew" flowers contrasting beautifully with the green grass. This first field was the largest and most expansive of the four.
After taking photos to our heart's content, we walked back the way we came to reach Pha Ham Hot. The walk back felt much more tiring than the walk there. It dawned on us that the reason for this was because the path we had taken on the way there was downhill, while the return path was uphill.
Don't worry, if you're tired, take a break and admire the trees along the way. Even though it's afternoon, the fog is still thick.
The Pha Ham Hot waterfall is indeed located just a short walk from the entrance. However, due to the large crowds, we decided to visit the Krachieo flowers first and then stop by the waterfall on our way back.
The cliff rises 864 meters above sea level.
After visiting Sai Thong National Park, we drove back to our accommodation for the night, "Salate Chalet Resort," which is located near Pa Hin Ngam National Park.
The entrance to the resort is already lush and shady.
Chalet 1 is our house.
The room features a large and comfortable bed.
The bathroom is clean and equipped with soap and shampoo.
This evening, we have ordered barbecue from the resort. When the time comes, the staff will prepare the grill and light the fire for us. If anyone does not want to grill themselves, they can ask the staff to do it for them. In addition to barbecue, there are other foods available.
Enjoy the scenic view while grilling under the cool breeze, perfect for a delicious barbecue.

After a full meal, our eyelids grew heavy. Exhausted from the first day, we went to bed early to recharge for tomorrow. We will wake up early to visit the Siam Tulip field at Pa Hin Ngam National Park.
DAY 2
A five-minute drive from your accommodation will take you to the Pa Hin Ngam National Park.
It is now 6:30 AM. We purchased round-trip bus tickets to the Tung Bua Kaeo (30 baht per person).
We have arrived at the path leading to the field. The fog is very thick.
Walk approximately 300 meters to see the field of ginger lilies.
The majority of the ginger lilies at Pa Hin Ngam National Park have already wilted. We were not disappointed, as we were aware that the flowers were already in a state of significant decline.
According to reports, heavy and early rainfall this year has caused the Siam tulip flowers to wilt faster than usual. At Pa Hin Ngam National Park, the flowers have bloomed earlier than at Trai Thong National Park.
If you only have time to visit one place in late July, I recommend visiting Thung Thong National Park.
The Pa Hin Ngam National Park also offers other attractions, such as the Hin Ngam Stone Field and the Viewpoint at the End of the Earth.
However, our original intention was only to visit the siam tulip field. By the time we left the field, it was already 8:30 am, and we were eager to return to our accommodation for breakfast.
Breakfast was served in our room shortly after we arrived, and we were stuffed.
On the second night, we will move to the city district. On the way, we will stop at the cosmos field at Rocky Land Sheep Farm.
The park is located approximately 24 kilometers from the Pa Hin Ngam National Park. There is an entrance fee, which I believe is 50 baht per person.
The cosmos flowers are blooming, but not densely.
After admiring the flowers, you can stop by to feed the lambs.
From the cosmos field, it takes over an hour to reach the city center.
We stopped for lunch at Mae Noi's noodle shop with stewed pork, a charming name.
The rich and creamy tom yum noodles were so delicious, they didn't even need any additional seasoning.
Check-in at Pocket Park before continuing your journey
Before continuing your journey, check in at Pocket Park, a hotel located in the heart of the city.
Accommodation similar to an apartment, clean rooms, and affordable prices.
After packing our belongings, we quickly set off for Phra That Chaiyaphum. The rain started to fall heavily, and we began to worry whether we would be able to make it up to the temple to pay our respects.
It only took a little over an hour to arrive, and the rain had just stopped.
Phra That Chai Buri, also known as Wat Arun Thammathan, is a Buddhist temple in Chai Buri, Thailand.
Phra Tham Sirichai, the 13th abbot of Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, initiated the construction of the building in 2007 as a place for meditation practice.
The top of the pagoda enshrines the relics of the Lord Buddha.
If you are visiting Mo Hin Khao or Tad Tone Waterfall, you can also pay respects at Phra That Chaiyaphum, which is not far away.
Continuing on to the White Rock Mountain, or the Stonehenge of Thailand, formed by the accumulation of sand and clay sediments that solidified into rock. I once read that the rock is 175 million years old.
The White Rock Mountain has many groups of rocks, but the most famous is the group of 5 rocks. However, we only took pictures of 4 of them.
The crowd was so dense that it was impossible to capture all the trees in a single shot while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing composition. My photography skills are still at a novice level.
The real thing is much grander and more beautiful than the photos.
A six-minute drive from the White Rock Cliff will take you to Pha Hua Nak, where you can enjoy the view.
Offers a view of the verdant mountain range.
After enjoying the breathtaking view, it was time for dinner. We returned to the city and had Vietnamese food at "Panadda Nem Nuong".
A cozy and comfortable restaurant with delicious food.
After finishing the meal, it started raining heavily again. The original plan was to go for a walk at the night bazaar, but it was changed to return to the accommodation to rest.
DAY 3
We woke up early to enjoy the delicious "guay jub" from "Jay Hoon" at the municipal fresh market.
If you are lost, please ask the nearby vendors for directions.
The innards were meticulously cleaned. The pork was cut into thick, large pieces. The broth was delicious. At 30 baht, it was incredibly affordable. I was very impressed.
After finishing our meal, we returned to the hotel to collect our belongings, as we were continuing our journey to Khon Kaen.
The three-day, two-night trip to Chaiภูมิ concluded with a delicious meal at Auntie Hoon's Kway Chap. There are still many places to explore in Chaiภูมิ, and we plan to visit the Phu Khieo district on our next trip.
I hope this review will be helpful for those who plan to visit the Thun Kra Jaew flower field next year.
Thank you for reading to the end.
