Challenge the cold wind @ TouchStarResort Doi Inthanon

The weather on Doi Inthanon is already cold. I saw on social media that the temperature on the top of Doi Inthanon is already in single digits. I couldn't wait to go, so I quickly planned a trip to Chiang Mai. As you know, Chiang Mai is a province with many tourist attractions. No matter how many times you go, you can never see everything. There are also many accommodations to choose from. This trip, we stayed at Touch Star Resort, a resort near Doi Inthanon. There are many types of rooms to choose from and it is close to many tourist attractions.
For this trip, I took the train and arrived in Chiang Mai in the early morning. Then I took a red car from the train station to rent a motorcycle at Bikky Chiang Mai near the Arcade Bus Terminal. This trip was a motorcycle adventure. I didn't know the way, so I used GPS. Let's go!

Highlights of the trip

First, before your trip, pay respects and pray for blessings at Wat Phra That Doi Kham.

The next destination is the magnificent natural wonder known as "Pha Chor", also referred to as the Grand Canyon of Thailand. Pha Chor is located in Doi Lo District and is under the management of Mae Wang National Park.

There are beautiful viewpoints. If you come early, it will be even more beautiful.

Then continue driving to Chom Thong and stop by Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong to pay respects and pray.

We arrived at our accommodation, Touch Star Resort. We actually arrived at noon, but I'm posting the photos from early morning first. 555+

The resort boasts a lush and serene atmosphere. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink of lychee juice. Early check-in is available if the room is unoccupied.

The A-frame cabin we stayed in recently, aptly named "Baan Kiang Duen," was charmingly small.

Let's take a look inside. Each room features unique carp-themed artwork.

The room is spacious and well-equipped with air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a television.

The bathroom is equipped with shower gel and toiletries. It is worth noting that guests staying here will also have the opportunity to enjoy a mineral bath, as each room is supplied with natural, filtered mineral water.

Let's put our belongings in the room and explore the accommodation. There are many different types of rooms available.

The atmosphere is shady and there are trees around the accommodation.

Our accommodation, Baan Kiang Duen, consists of 26 houses surrounded by a landscaped garden. Each house offers either a single or double bed, suitable for two guests.

The Deluxe Room category, known as "เรือนเคียงฟ้า" and "เรือนเคียงดาว," comprises 16 rooms spread across two floors in a Lanna-style building. These rooms are designed to accommodate two guests.

Riverside Cottage: 8 single cottages nestled by the serene river, surrounded by lush gardens, offering a private and relaxing retreat for two.

The atmosphere of the accommodation is pleasant and lush, even during the bright sunshine of the day.

The Stargazer House (Sleeps 8)

This Swiss chalet-style house boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and private nooks. The house offers stunning views from the balcony and windows, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.

This is my favorite accommodation here. It looks like I'm in a foreign country. There are actually other types of rooms, but I didn't take pictures of all of them.

This facility also boasts two spacious meeting rooms, accommodating groups of 40 to 200 individuals. These rooms are ideal for organizations or groups seeking to host conferences, training sessions, seminars, and catering services for various events.

The interior is spacious and can comfortably accommodate large groups. The accommodation also has audio equipment and a sound system, making it possible to organize karaoke parties with sound equipment. There is an outdoor area for activities, whether it's freshman orientation or base camp activities. It's perfect for large groups.

After exploring the accommodation, I headed straight to the Khun Pae Royal Project Development Center to see the hydrangeas and rice terraces. Along the way, I was treated to stunning mountain views. The road was a bit rough, but I enjoyed the challenge.

To get there, drive straight from Doi Inthanon Junction towards Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong for about 30 km. Then turn right at the entrance, where there is a gas station. Follow the same road as the Tham Tong Monastery for another 22 km. If you're unsure, just turn on your GPS and you won't get lost. The first part of the road is paved and easy to drive on, but the later sections are a mix of gravel and concrete, and some construction is ongoing. The road is steep in some sections, but motorcycles can handle it easily. Cars and sedans can also make it, but low-riding vehicles are not recommended.

After exploring the accommodation, I headed straight to the Khun Pae Royal Project. I had to park my car at the Khun Pae Royal Project Development Center and then take a local pickup truck to the hydrangea field, about 7 km away. I couldn't drive myself because the road was very rough, with potholes and narrow sections. The cost was 500 baht per car, which could carry up to 8 people. This worked out to less than 70 baht per person. If there were fewer people, we could wait until there were 8 to share the cost, or we could just pay for the whole car ourselves. I think it's worth paying, as it also generates income for the local villagers.

An additional entrance fee of 30 baht per person is required upon entry.

The flowers are quite thick and beautiful. They are mainly blue and white, and they look very cool. Taking pictures of them and showing them to my friends will make me feel like I'm in another country.

We can take photos to our heart's content. They give each group about an hour and a half. There is a path to follow, so please try to stay on it. Otherwise, I think it will be a mess for those who come later. Let's work together so that we can have beautiful places to enjoy for a long time.

The nearby area also boasts scenic viewpoints of mountains and rice terraces.

On the way back, the driver stopped by the terraced rice fields, which were stunningly beautiful with the rice turning yellow.

The Royal Project Development Center also has a large plot.

I rode my motorcycle to capture the scenery of the various plots. I love this feeling. I need to go with someone special. Hehe.

The resort also offers accommodation under the name "Khathom Tawan Raintree". For those without private transportation, you can take a car to the entrance and the resort will pick you up.

The journey back was accompanied by intermittent rain, forcing us to make frequent stops. We arrived at our accommodation just as darkness fell, famished. We devoured the food so quickly that we forgot to take pictures. The food was decent, and the establishment also serves as a restaurant open to non-guests.

The soft glow of the room at night is quite beautiful. The stillness of the night brings a peaceful slumber.

The natural underground hot spring pool allows for comfortable soaking and relaxation. The mineral-rich water is said to rejuvenate the skin and revitalize the senses.

Breakfast typically consists of rice porridge, fried rice, clear soup, fried eggs, sausages, tea, coffee, bread, and fruit.

Camping is permitted on the lawn during the late-year season. Shared bathroom facilities are available.

I checked out early this morning, it's time to say goodbye to Touch Star Resort.

I'm here at Mae Ya Waterfall.

Living up to its name, this is a large and magnificent waterfall.

I then visited a small farm here, with an entrance fee of 50 baht per adult and 30 baht per child. The ticket can be exchanged for a basket of vegetables to feed the animals. Inside, there is a restaurant, accommodation, and an animal farm.

Horse-drawn carriages are also available, with a capacity of 4 people and a cost of 150 baht per trip.

There are also miniature horses available for riding at 20 baht per lap, with the same price for larger horses.

As soon as I walked in, the sheep came right up to me. They ate everything in my basket before I even had a chance to feed them. 555

The piglets were adorable. When I first walked in, I saw them being chased, running around in a frenzy. It was hilarious to see the little ones running so fast. I still laugh when I think about it, but it was truly adorable.

This place offers accommodation and has many photo spots. It's perfect for children, but adults can enjoy it too. 555
