Today, I'm spending a night in Pattaya for a casual once-a-month getaway.
As a local resident of Pattaya, I rarely stay in hotels here, as it's close to home. Why would I stay in a hotel when I can be at home?
This time, I tried staying in a hotel, pretending to be a Bangkokian tourist.
Riding our trusty #Honda #CB500F to Pattaya feels like coming home, but not quite. Today, we're staying at the #RueanThipBoutique, a beautifully renovated old condo in the style of an English ship. It's as if we're about to board a ship in England.
The hotel is located on Sukhumvit Road in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.
Although it is not located in Pattaya, it is less than 10 minutes away (if there is no traffic).
The journey from Bangkok to the hotel takes less than 2 hours.
We arrived a little early, so we decided to take a quick look around the hotel before going up to our room.
The exterior of the hotel and the lobby are so reminiscent of England, it's as if you've been transported there.
The hotel has created a new coffee shop zone that has just been completed. We had the opportunity to try the coffee and take pictures at the shop before anyone else. Although the staff is still not very skilled because they are just learning, the coffee is still decent. We tried cappuccino, latte, iced matcha green tea, and blue raspberry soda, and it was so good that we had to ask for more!
The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.
The staff here are friendly and helpful. One of the staff members looked Thai, but when I heard others speaking English to her, I asked her about it. She told me that she is from the Philippines and has been working at the hotel for several years. She is lovely and always tries her best to communicate in a friendly way.
After checking in at the hotel, it took an hour to get to the room. We had a lot of fun taking pictures and talking to the staff. Let's talk about the room now.
The room is minimally decorated in white and navy blue tones, giving it a clean and fresh feel. Our room was on the 12th floor, offering a stunning panoramic view of the sea, stretching from Na Kluea Beach to Pattaya Beach. Words cannot do justice to the breathtaking vista, so let the pictures speak for themselves.
Another recommended area of the hotel is the pool zone, located next to the building. It features a small pool for light swimming and sunbathing. We took a quick dip to cool off.
The building in front of the hotel belongs to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), an organization that promotes sustainable tourism. They offer free bicycles for rent to guests who present their ID cards. However, as avid bikers, we opted to ride our motorcycles instead. (Honestly, we were too lazy to pedal!)
Although the hotel is not very large, it has a fitness room for health-conscious guests to exercise.
The sun was setting, and it was time to find something to eat. We were in a seafood area, so we decided to have some seafood. We asked the staff where to eat, and they told us that we could buy seafood and eat it at the coffee shop or restaurant. So we went to the Larn Pho Market, which is a market that sells fresh seafood directly from fishing boats.
The bustling market overflows with fresh seafood, from humble shrimp and shellfish to extravagant thousand-dollar lobsters. Conveniently, nearby vendors offer grilling and roasting services at affordable prices, though the popularity may lead to a wait due to the high volume of customers.
We enjoyed a delicious feast of shrimp, mussels, and spicy papaya salad with fermented fish sauce. The food was so good that we couldn't stop eating and didn't take many pictures. We were sweating from the spiciness, but it was worth it!
After a satisfying meal, we decided to take a stroll to aid digestion. Pattaya recently unveiled Terminal 21, so we stopped by to admire the festive lights. After spending some time there, we returned to our accommodations for a restful night. We'll plan our next adventure in the morning.
In the morning, we rode our bikes around the salt fields and watched the fishermen bring in their catch of crabs. As it was low tide, we also enjoyed watching the egrets gracefully stalking fish.
For breakfast, we had fried eggs, ham, fried rice, salad, and seasonal fruits.
This trip can be simply defined as a series of meals and naps.
Thank you to Ruentip Hotel for providing beautiful accommodation and excellent service during this trip.
Where will we go next? Stay tuned!
