Hello everyone, it's me again! I'm back with another adventure, but this time it's a little different. Remember the time I told you to "put your camera away and grab your phone to take pictures"? Well, this time I'm going to be using my phone to capture all the amazing sights and sounds of Bangkok.
Last weekend was a long weekend for many people, and I'm sure a lot of you went out of town to explore. But not me, I had to work on Saturday (boo hoo). With only one day left to relax, I started thinking about where I could go. I wanted to find a place that was close by, had a nice atmosphere, and would allow me to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. And then it hit me, there are so many people who are in the same situation as me! So I decided to do some research and find some great places to visit in Bangkok. And guess what? I found a ton of places that I've never been to before!
I'm so excited to share my discoveries with you all, so from now until the end of next year, I'm going to be taking you on a journey through Bangkok in my own unique way. This blog series is called "Urban Explorer," and our first stop is Tha Phra Chan - Phra Athit Road. And of course, since I'm going with you, you know I'll be using my phone to take pictures! So let's not waste any more time, let's go!

During the time when Kaeo decided to go out and travel, the first thing was that everyone was going out of town because it was a long holiday.

Starting at the first station, Tha Phra Chan. I started walking from the front of Tha Phra Chan pier, which is near Thammasat University, Tha Phra Chan campus.

This area is always bustling. There are delicious food, small flea markets, and tuk-tuk drivers. People are walking around all the time.
But lately, people have been going out of town. Hey, it's a different vibe. It's quiet and peaceful, but it's also nice to walk around and explore.

Come a little closer, this is the pier area. From here, we can take a ferry across the river from Phra Nakhon to Thon Buri.

As you walk into the riverside walkway zone, you'll be greeted by a variety of restaurants serving all kinds of delicious-looking dishes. It's hard to choose just one!

Honestly, Kaew likes the atmosphere of this kind of place. It doesn't have to be luxurious or grand,
but it gives the feeling that there must be delicious food hidden here for sure.

As I walked along, I stumbled upon a charming cafe. After chatting with the owner, I discovered that it was a hostel with a great atmosphere and affordable prices. So I stopped for a refreshing drink.

This is the atmosphere in front of the shop, which is called Cafe 79's Hostel & Cafe.

The restaurant is a small, cozy place with a friendly atmosphere. It's always packed with customers, and the tables are almost always full.

The atmosphere at the counter bar of the shop is lovely and very stylish.

I can't help but have a cold drink. . . .

Now that we're full, let's move on. Walking deeper in, we'll start to reach the amulet zone.
As many of you know, this area is what makes Tha Phra Chan the most unique.

Living up to its name as the largest amulet center in Thailand, the rows of stalls stretch as far as the eye can see.

Kaew continued walking until she reached another newly renovated place.
It was a beautiful avenue, yes, "Tha Maharaj itself."

In Kaew's eyes, Tha Maharaj is a place that perfectly blends modern elements with classic locations, creating a unique and charming atmosphere.

The atmosphere at Tha Maharaj during the long weekend is still as lively as ever.

This small handmade market creates a great atmosphere and positive vibes for this place.

The buildings here have been cleverly renovated to create a new style.

There are many beautiful corners hidden in this place if we walk slowly and observe things around us.

The secret to having fun on a short trip is to "forget about time". Let your heart and feelings work to their full potential.
Then you will feel that you have truly rested. When we look back at the photos afterwards, we often get better photos than when we try to take them.

Another thing that this area has a lot of is "coffee shops" or cafes with different styles.
They are scattered around the area, and most people who come to relax here tend to spend time sitting and relaxing,
enjoying the atmosphere with a cup of fragrant coffee. (Speaking of which, my mouth is watering 55 5)

This is a popular spot, a gathering point where many people often meet up.

This bicycle corner is similar to the one used to decorate the entrance of Tha Maharaj. It looks quite stylish.

Before we move on, let's take a quick souvenir photo to remember that we were here at Tha Maharaj.

Walking out of Tha Maharaj onto the main road, I felt that it was late afternoon and time to move on to my next destination.
My next stop was " Phra Athit Road ".

How to get there? While in this zone, don't miss out on riding a Tuk Tuk, an old-fashioned vehicle of this zone.
It has been transporting passengers for a long time. I paid 40 baht for the fare to Phra Athit Road.

Kaeo really loves the view from a tuk-tuk as it drives through the crowded streets.
It gives her a feeling of, "This is it, this is Thailand. This is where the charm lies."

This area is actually rich in historical landmarks, including two universities and an ancient temple.

Alright, now we've arrived at Phra Athit Road. The sun is really blazing.

I'm so hungry right now, I need to find something to eat before I do anything else.

Strolling along Phra Athit Road, I stumbled upon this shop. It sells fried peanuts, but not your ordinary fried peanuts.
Before I could even open my mouth to order, the auntie who runs the shop said, "You'll have to wait 40 minutes. Come back later to pick them up."

I'm really curious, is it really that special? That's why there are so many people queuing up.
Judging from the people who are sitting and waiting, standing and waiting behind, I have to try it. I'll order it first.

Most of the restaurants around here are closed for the long weekend, so I had to escape the sun and come to the Hong Kong Noodle branch in Bang Lamphu.
Honestly, this is a restaurant that I eat at very often, but the feeling in each location I eat at is really different.

No need to beat around the bush, let's have some duck noodles + dumplings.

I'm afraid I won't be full, so I'll have some fried tofu stuffed with shrimp. It's so delicious!

After filling up, I walked back the way I came, but hey, I didn't see this shop on the way here.
I guess it just came out to sell. That's the rice cracker shop. (Kaew's favorite)

But when I saw this sign, I knew it wasn't just ordinary rice cakes. It has been sold for over 70-80 years.
It can be said that it has been passed down from generation to generation, from grandmother to mother to son. So I ordered a set.
Let me tell you, it's delicious. If you're passing by, you have to try it. It's only 35 baht a set.

I walked a little further to pick up the fried beans that I've been waiting to eat for a long time. I got it!
I must confess that I can't tell the difference from other places. 55 5
But anyway, if you like to eat fried beans, you can stop by and buy from this old shop.

On the way, I met this (not a few) cat sleeping. I stopped to say hello to it (it looks fierce).

It's late afternoon now. The Banglampu Museum is a place I pass by very often, but this time I intend to go in and have a look.

Stepping inside, the atmosphere is a stark contrast to the bustling Phra Athit Road. Here, it's cool, the air is fresh, and the surroundings are beautiful.

The Bang Lamphu Museum, by the Treasury Department. Alright, let's go inside.

The information point for visitors is beautifully decorated, just like the lobby of a luxury hotel. The staff are also very helpful.

Unfortunately, when Kaew arrived, the last tour of the day had already begun.
Hmm, what should I do? The staff suggested that she could visit the two rooms downstairs instead.

Since we're already here, let's take a walk. There must be a lot of interesting things around here.

Inside the walkway to the exhibition room

The first room on the left will be a room displaying the royal deeds of our King.

This area is modeled after an ancient city wall.

It's so realistic that it feels like the real thing.

Looking out the window, you'll see the beautiful view of Phra Athit Road.

The exhibition zone tells the history of this road, as well as the nearby Phra Sumen Fort.

The presentation is in a multimedia format. In the visitor zone, there are sound effects, explanations of events, and short films to watch. The presentation is very well done and makes you feel involved when you listen to it.

It's a shame that the second floor is full. No worries, I'll definitely be back here next time.

Continue walking to reach Santi Chai Prakan Park

It is a public park adjacent to Phra Sumeru Fort and the Chao Phraya River.

The romance of this place is that it is right next to the Chao Phraya River.

The atmosphere is so shady that it makes you want to find a mat to lay down on.

The pavilion-like structure that friends see in the garden is actually the "Santi Chai Prakan Throne Hall", which was used as a pier for the royal barge to receive and disembark. It was also used to hold various royal ceremonies related to the Chao Phraya River.

These old buildings on this street are so charming, don't you think, Kaew? They give it a very classic atmosphere.
We've been walking for a long time, my throat is getting dry. Let's cross the street and find something to drink.

This is the place, MISTERPAS CAFE, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, the view from this shop
offers a clear view of Phra Sumen Fort and Santi Chai Prakan Park.
