Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing my trip to Koh Kood after the recent Songkran festival. Before embarking on this trip, I did some research and learned that Koh Kood is a peaceful and incredibly beautiful island, arguably one of the most stunning in Thailand. After gathering information, I rushed to the Thai Tourism Fair on the last day and managed to snag a voucher just in time. For this trip, I stayed at the A-Na-Ray Resort, opting for a 3-day, 2-night package priced at 6,500 baht per person. I also paid for an additional night, bringing my total stay to 4 days and 3 nights.
This trip, I drove myself. I took the Ban Bueng-Klaeng-Chanthaburi-Trat route (the road between Ban Bueng and Klaeng is under construction, the road is not very good, please drive carefully). I left home at 2:40 am and arrived at the resort's check-in point at 6:30 am. I would like to ask permission to use this picture from the resort.
Upon arrival, I unloaded my luggage from the car and parked it. The resort has a parking lot available for a fee of 50 baht per day. After parking the car and checking everything was in order, I went to pay the remaining balance and purchase insurance from the resort. Then, I sat down to eat breakfast while waiting for the speedboat to take us to the island. The resort's boat operates two rounds, at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, and the journey to the island takes about an hour. When it was time to board the boat for the island, I sat and relaxed for a while, and before I knew it, the boat had arrived at the island. Upon reaching the pier, I was immediately struck by the stunningly clear turquoise water in front of the resort.
After that, I walked into the resort to check in and get the room key.
Resort sign, anyone who stays here and doesn't take a picture with this sign, it's like you haven't arrived. Lol.
After receiving the key, the staff member lifted my luggage and led the way to my room. The atmosphere around the resort was lush and peaceful. The only downside was that the distance to the room was a bit far and deep. Even though I had requested a room with a sea view when I booked, it seems that the rooms in the front were already full. But that's okay, I'm fine with any room, it's just a pity that I won't be able to see the beautiful view from my room.
After walking for a while, I arrived at the room. I didn't take any pictures of the inside of the room because I fell asleep as soon as I entered. The room was equipped with the usual amenities, including air conditioning, a refrigerator, a television, and a safe.
After a short nap in the room, it was time to board the boat provided by the resort to visit Klong Jao Waterfall.
After that, we traveled back. When we arrived at the resort, there was shaved ice waiting to welcome us. But I didn't take a picture of it because it melted too quickly, so I had to eat it before it turned into water. 555 After that, we went back to sleep and played until the evening, then went out for a walk and took more pictures.
After taking photos, it was finally time for the long-awaited dinner. Dinner here is an all-you-can-eat seafood feast. Today's menu includes: 1. Steamed crab 2. Deep-fried fish with fish sauce. The fish felt a bit dry and the taste was quite ordinary, not particularly impressive but not bad either. 3. Sour curry (not pictured). 4. Mixed seafood salad, which was also quite ordinary in taste. 5. Mussels. 6. Garlic fried squid, which was absolutely delicious. I had four servings of this dish! I didn't take many photos of the food because the lighting where I was sitting was quite dim, and I was also very hungry at the time.
After that, I went back to my room to rest up for the next day's diving. Let's continue with Day 2. I woke up early and had a light breakfast before going diving. I didn't dare to eat too much this time because I was afraid of getting seasick on the boat and having trouble finding a bathroom. The breakfast here is typical, such as sausages, fried eggs, ham, rice porridge, bread, Ovaltine, coffee, and orange juice.
After breakfast, we waited until 10:00 AM. It was time to go snorkeling. The first island the boat stopped at was Koh Rang to teach us how to use a snorkel.
After that, the boat took us to dive at Koh Yaksai. There are no pictures of the dive because all the pictures I took disappeared. So frustrating!
After diving for a while, the boat took us to Koh Rang for lunch. Lunch consisted of seafood fried rice and crab stir-fried noodles. However, I forgot to bring my camera down from the boat, so I couldn't capture any photos for you. After lunch, we went diving for a while longer before it was time to return to the resort.
Upon arrival at the resort, there will be snacks waiting for you. Today, it's rice noodles with papaya salad.
After that, we went for a walk and swam until it was time for dinner again. The menu for this meal is shown in the picture. Most of the food tasted good. As usual, I ate a lot for this meal. I had two plates of shrimp and four plates of fried fish cakes.
That's all for the second day, let's continue to the third day. I woke up in the morning and had breakfast as usual, but I didn't take any pictures today. After that, I walked around the resort and took some pictures.
As we were taking photos, our stomachs started to growl, so we decided to have lunch at the resort. For this meal, we had to pay for the food ourselves. The menu we ordered was garlic fried shrimp with egg fried rice and garlic fried squid with rice. Both of these dishes were delicious!
A picture of me having lunch with a beautiful view. And also a picture of the resort's bar.
After being full, I went back to my room to change clothes and went swimming to see the fish in front of the resort.
As the evening approached, I rushed back to my room to take a shower and change clothes so that I could go out and capture the evening atmosphere. However, I ended up not making it in time for the sunset, so I only managed to take a few photos. It was a real shame.
After that, I went for a walk to soak up the atmosphere around the resort before dinner.
After that, it was time for the last night of the trip. This time, we had to pay for our own dinner. I ordered Tom Kha Gai, which tasted good.
The shrimp baked with glass noodles tastes delicious.
The must-have menu item was the garlic fried squid. The taste was still delicious as always, but this time I didn't order a second helping because I had to pay for the food myself. Haha.
Finally, for dessert, I had pancakes. I ordered extra ice cream and put it on top of the pancakes myself. Actually, there were 3 scoops of ice cream, but I had already eaten one before I remembered to take a picture.
That's it for my trip to Koh Kood. On the 4th day, there wasn't much to do. I woke up, had breakfast, and waited for the boat to take me back to Laem Sok Pier. I didn't take any pictures.
The highlight of this trip was definitely the stunning beauty of the sea, it truly lived up to its reputation. The accommodation was also great, with friendly staff and delicious food. If you purchase a package with the resort, you'll get free water, ice, soda, tea, and coffee 24/7.
The things I didn't like were the rooms, as I mentioned earlier. When you book a room, you have no idea which one you'll get because the resort assigns them based on the booking queue. To get to my room, I had to walk for a while in complete darkness because there were no lights. I had to use a flashlight. The bottled water provided by the resort was cloudy and had a terrible odor. That's all for my review this time. If there are any mistakes, I apologize. You can follow my other reviews at https://www.facebook.com/MaxkaReview. Thank you very much. Goodbye.
