Next year's summer was scorching hot, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees every day. That year, 2016, was the hottest summer ever. The sweltering heat made it impossible to even think about going for a bike ride. Even if we tried to force ourselves to go, we would end up being too tired and exhausted from the sun. This made it impossible for us to organize our usual #bikepacking trips.

!!!! But anyway, those who like to ride still want to ride. Well, since we can't change the weather or the season, all we can do is ".... change the riding time". Today, we tried riding a night trip in the forest of Bangkok. Don't be surprised, this place is believed to be a place where many cyclists have been riding. I myself have ridden there many times during the day as well. And I believe that few people have ever tried riding "Bang Krachao at night". Today is the day of the half-moon, so we made an appointment with a group to explore the same riding route but at a new time. Let's see if the atmosphere is the same or even more beautiful.

The most important thing you need for tonight's night ride is a flashlight. It's very important, don't forget it. A bright flashlight mounted on the front of your handlebars and a flashing light on the back of your bike.

We started our journey by parking our car at Lotus plus Srinakarin, then we cycled on the streets in the alley, watching the way of life of the people in that area during the sunset. The distance of 15 kilometers was a warm-up for our legs before we reached Phra Pradaeng Pier, which was already completely dark.

It only took a short boat ride to get here, and the view of the Bhumibol Bridge in front of us is simply breathtaking. I'm so glad I decided to explore the Bang Krachao Night Trip tonight. The combination of the Chao Phraya River and the city lights makes this river even more charming. The atmosphere is cool and breezy, with a constant flow of fresh air. However, the humid heat of our country still makes it a bit sticky, causing some discomfort. But it's still much better than cycling under the scorching sun.

The atmosphere on the Bhumibol Bridge when we were sitting in the boat, the wind was blowing, the atmosphere was cool, it was good.

Starting from the pier at Phra Pradaeng, we stopped for a quick bite of grilled pork to fuel up for the delicious papaya salad and fried chicken restaurant that awaited us. Before crossing the Khlong Lat Pho bridge, there were still some cars on the road, so we didn't want to stay on the main road for too long. We headed straight into Bang Krachao to avoid the traffic, and we'll come back to take pictures when there are fewer cars on the road.

I'm at Bang Krachao now.

As soon as I entered Bang Krachao, I was greeted by a peaceful and serene atmosphere. It's incredible how just a narrow river can create such a stark contrast in ambiance. The temperature, in particular, was noticeably different, at least 3-4 degrees cooler. It felt refreshingly cool.

Leaving the first garden ditch, we stopped by the temple. At this temple, there is a chapel, I can't remember the name, but the staff told us that whatever we ask for, we will usually get it. So we stood, prayed, and made a wish for good luck. It was good to come at night, there weren't many people, I liked it. It felt like the road was ours, so we could really cycle comfortably.

Leaving the temple, we mainly focus on cycling on the bridge. The atmosphere is close to nature. Today, the bridge here has been fenced to make it safer for cyclists. The remaining orange paint is really eye-catching.

Bicycle headlights are very important because there are no streetlights along the way. If we prepare bright headlights, it is not dangerous when we ride because the light is bright and we can see the road ahead for a long distance.

This bridge railing has just been built and hasn't been painted yet. Personally, I prefer unpainted bridge railings. It blends in better with nature and the color doesn't stand out too much.

Some parts of the bridge are still under construction. Currently, the bridge is being widened. I think it will be finished soon. Cyclists will be able to ride more comfortably then.

Some sections of the bridge are newly completed and the railings have not yet been installed. Please be extra careful when cycling. Although the width of the bridge remains the same, the lack of railings makes our hearts skip a beat.

Is nature good? From here, you will be able to connect to the tree tunnel and the popular road of Bang Krachao. It's beautiful in a different way at night. But if anyone is coming here at night, I would suggest another thing: spray some mosquito repellent. Because there are mosquitoes that bite during certain times when we stop to take pictures, so you won't be bothered by insects.

Once we get off this road, we can cycle around many more bridges. Just keep going, focusing on the bridges with pavilions at the end that extend out over the river. We can enjoy the view at night.

This angle is beautiful, you can see the oil refinery too. The wind is cool and strong, the bicycle parked there was blown down by the wind. It's a confirmation that the wind is really strong. We sat, played, and took pictures, it was a lot of fun.

After sitting and enjoying the atmosphere for a while, I continued cycling. I was looking for a bridge and fireflies. Looking for fireflies.

Let's continue our search for bridges. There are many bridges like this here, each with a different view. Let's follow along to see the next bridge.

This is a tree planted by the CSR group of a large company. It's a great project and really worth supporting. It's a pity I can't remember the company's name.

After leaving the forest area, we headed to a temple. This temple was brightly lit, really bright. Now we're starting to get hungry, so let's adjust our route and find something to eat first. Okay.

The face of our papaya salad shop, the only shop open at night in Bang Krachao.

The battery is dead, I need to recharge it. This is the advantage of cycling, you don't have to worry about getting fat because you eat and then you use energy to ride. It's fun and healthy. Let's go cycling!

Once we were full, we continued our search for the bridge. This bridge is very beautiful, the most beautiful in this place, in my opinion.

The view was taken from the end of the bridge. The opposite side is the colorful lights of Silom and Rama 3 area.

We spent a considerable amount of time here because it was a beautiful, peaceful, and cool place. We didn't want to move from there. The people who brought us here said that there was another bridge that was even quieter and had fireflies to see. We were quite excited to hear that and wanted to see it already.

The path to see the fireflies was lined with forests and gardens, but we weren't lucky enough to see any fireflies this time. We'll definitely have to find a new way to go, because we haven't seen any fireflies yet.

It's about time. We cycled out of Bang Krachao and headed towards Khlong Lat Pho. Now there are no cars. The road is clear. Let's have fun cycling.

On a road like this, with a view like this, if you come by car, you might not see how beautiful it is. But if you come by bicycle, everything you experience will be much more delicate. You should try it.

The view of Khlong Lat Pho is beautiful and peaceful.

Look at the road, it's really empty.

The same route at different times will have different charms. You have to try it.

I'm back on the boat. This pier is amazing! There are boats running all night long, and I didn't have to wait long at all. I haven't even dried off my sweat yet, and the boat is already here at the pier. The late-night boat fare has gone up from 3 baht to 5 baht, but it's still incredibly cheap, don't you think?

Take a picture with the Bhumibol 2 Bridge.

We chartered the whole boat. It's so late at night, and there's only us. It's really comfortable.

I'm back from my bike ride! It was a 60 km loop, which was a bit long, but the weather was cool so it wasn't too tiring. It was actually quite fun. When I looked at the GPS track afterwards, I realized we had ridden in a loop that looked like a pig's stomach!
