Do you remember that I stayed at Amari Hua Hin last year? Well, it would be strange if you did, and it would be equally strange if I didn't remember having such a good time at such a romantic hotel. Because on that trip, I took my wife on a sweet and romantic getaway that almost made the Hua Hin sea lose its saltiness. (Haha...)

Due to my good relationship with the Amari hotel chain and my close friends who have been with me since university and are now doing well at Amari Hua Hin, I was invited to visit again this year. However, there is a small condition... My friend said...

... Please make it a weekday, because I want you to experience how wonderful the atmosphere is at Amari Hua Hin on a normal day.

Far from being a problem, it's actually a blessing in disguise. I'm a weekday traveler anyway, so it's convenient to travel, there aren't many tourists, and I don't have to fight for photos. The atmosphere is clear. When I whispered to my wife to get ready to go back to the suite at Amari Hua Hin again, she almost screamed in the room.

Let's see if Amari Hua Hin on weekdays is as good as our friends say.

Amari Hua Hin: A Hidden Gem in Khao Takiab

While the classic way to reach Hua Hin is by train, this time, we overslept and missed the morning train. We had to adjust our plan and take a van from the Southern Bus Terminal, heading towards Pranburi. On this weekday, the roads were clear and free of traffic jams. We got off at the Khao Takiab intersection, as Amari Hua Hin is located in the Khao Takiab area, not far from Cicada Market. After a short walk from the van stop, we arrived at the hotel. The front entrance may seem ordinary, but once you step inside, you'll discover a hidden gem.

Stepping through the door into the lobby, a nostalgic atmosphere washes over you. Amari Hua Hin exudes a unique charm that sets it apart from other Amari properties. The lobby's vintage decor, inspired by the Mrigadayavan Palace, is enhanced by a white and blue color scheme, evoking the essence of a seaside town.

The Symbolic Horse: A Design Element at the Lobby and Coral Lounge

The lobby and Coral Lounge, located adjacent to each other, feature a prominent display of horse motifs, particularly chess horse heads. This design choice is not merely decorative; it carries a deeper meaning. The horse holds symbolic significance in Hua Hin, considered the animal emblem of the city. Moreover, horses have historically served as a mode of transportation for royalty. The designers have cleverly incorporated this symbolism to convey Hua Hin's status as one of the first vacation destinations for Thai monarchs. This subtle detail seamlessly connects the space to its rich history and cultural significance. The thoughtful integration of such elements demonstrates the designers' meticulous attention to detail and their ability to weave a narrative through the use of symbolism.

The walls and various sections are also decorated with vintage photographs of Hua Hin in the past, further enhancing the vintage atmosphere.

After enjoying a refreshing welcome drink, we quickly completed the check-in process. The lack of crowds, unlike on weekends, made the process swift and efficient. Let's head up to our room and relax.

Amari Hua Hin boasts over 200 rooms housed in two L-shaped buildings flanking the swimming pool, with additional residential buildings surrounding the complex. During our stay, we occupied a Deluxe Pool View room on the seventh floor of Building B, the highest level. We eagerly swiped our keycard and ascended via the elevator.

The Amari Standard: A Deluxe Room Review

The deluxe room at the Amari hotel offers a complete and comfortable experience, adhering to the high standards expected of the Amari brand. The room's size is ideal for two guests, providing a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The cream-colored walls, illuminated by warm yellow lighting, create a sense of vintage charm. The king-size bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the room is well-equipped with a work desk, compact sofa set, wardrobe, and storage cabinets.

Amenities are fully stocked, including hairdryers, so you don't have to worry about your hair drying slowly after a swim. Oh, and if you forgot to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste, you can request them from the housekeeper.

From the balcony, you can see the beautiful swimming pool and a distant, unobstructed view. In the evening, it's the perfect place to sit and enjoy the breeze and moonlight with your loved one for a truly romantic experience.

However, what my wife and I love the most remains the same. The liquid soap and shampoo in the bathroom are Breeze Spa products, with a lemongrass scent that is incredibly relaxing. So, let's get started! I'm still showering, shampooing, and lathering with soap. I can't seem to finish my shower. (Haha...)

Relaxing in the cool air conditioning, rolling around on the soft bed until our stomachs started to growl, Amari Hua Hin has five food service points in total. We had the opportunity to try them all, and for our first meal this time, we would like to recommend the newest highlight, "Shoreline Beach Club" by the sea.

Last year, I had dinner with you here. This year, the hotel has been renovated and is even better than before. There is now a small swimming pool where you can relax and enjoy the sea view. The entrance is lined with beautiful flowers and grasses.

Shoreline Beach Club is located on the beachfront. On weekdays, we can call a golf cart from the hotel to pick us up at any time. Or, if you want to do some light exercise, you can walk through the back of Amari Residence, just 300 meters away. You won't even break a sweat before you get there.

Mrs. and I strolled hand-in-hand until the evening sky grew overcast. We sat down to relax and wait. As the sky turned navy blue in the late evening, the atmosphere became perfect for capturing the ambiance. Let me tell you, it was incredibly beautiful and romantic. Oh, and they also offer dining services to non-hotel guests. If you're nearby, stop by and chill out.

The Shoreline Beach Club's menu blends Mediterranean and Thai cuisine. Our dinner was truly exceptional. We started with the Seafood Coconut Curry, Shoreline Salad with their signature dressing, and Tropical Pizza, which had a thin, crispy crust and generous toppings. The pizza had a slightly burnt edge that added a smoky aroma. For our main course, we couldn't resist the BBQ platter, which included sea bass, squid, prawns, chicken breast, and lamb ribs. We also enjoyed Spaghetti Vongole (stir-fried clams) and the hotel's proudly presented Surf & Turf, featuring large prawns served with risotto and thick, tenderloin steak paired with spinach and assorted grilled vegetables.

The menu boasts six dishes, but we weren't dining alone. We were joined by the Amari staff and my friends. We savored the delicious food and caught up on life, gossiping about mutual friends and sharing laughter. The peaceful atmosphere, due to the weekday crowd, made for a truly enjoyable meal.

A New Day Begins with a Delicious Breakfast

The morning sun gently awakens you from a deep and restful sleep. Glancing at the clock, you see it's just past six. With a burst of energy, you jump out of bed, eager to start your day. After a quick shower and change of clothes, you head downstairs to the breakfast room.

The sight that greets you is a feast for the eyes. The mosaic-tiled walls shimmer in the morning light, and the breakfast buffet is overflowing with a tempting array of dishes. You quickly grab your camera, wanting to capture the scene before the hungry crowd descends.

With a chuckle, you imagine the chaos that will ensue as soon as the doors open. But for now, you savor the moment, enjoying the tranquility and the promise of a delicious breakfast.

The Mosaic breakfast room (next to the elevator in Building A) is another point that has changed since my last stay. The outdoor seating area has been expanded to accommodate guests during special holidays. On weekdays like this, we sit inside and enjoy the air conditioning. There are plenty of seats available, so there's no need to fight for a spot. I think this place is too luxurious to be just a breakfast room. The ceiling is adorned with stylish fish-shaped lamps, and one wall is decorated with brightly colored wood in yellow, red, and green, with Thai patterns in the style of the Mrigadayavan Palace.

The extensive food selection at Amari's breakfast buffet is truly remarkable, offering a wide variety of Thai, Chinese, and Western options. The buffet is consistently well-stocked, regardless of whether it is a weekday or a weekend.

Breakfast at the Hotel

For breakfast at the hotel, I don't care what others choose to eat. For me, a simple meal of hot rice porridge with pickled mustard greens and Chinese sausage is perfect. I might follow that with a small portion of my favorite bacon, a couple of sausages or slices of ham, and a small salad. To finish, a cup of coffee is all I need. I'm an easy eater, and this simple breakfast is more than enough to satisfy me.

The weather today is beautiful, with clear skies and sunshine, a stark contrast to yesterday's weather. It feels like a different season altogether. I couldn't resist taking some photos around the pool. In the morning, there were few people around. The staff mentioned that when the weather is nice, Westerners prefer to swim and sunbathe, while Thais and other Asians tend to come for a swim in the late afternoon when the sun is less intense.

The swimming pool is another highlight of Amari Hua Hin, as it is designed to resemble a beachfront. The pool floor is made in a gradient of colors from shallow to deep, giving the impression of playing in the water on a simulated beach.

Lost in the moment, taking photos, I realized that with such beautiful sunshine, we should head to Shoreline Beach Club. But before we could walk over, we needed to go back to the room so my wife could change into her bikini and get ready for some fun in the water. With a pool like this right by the sea, how could we resist? Let me tell you, the bright sunshine and deep blue sky here are absolutely stunning. And with a refreshing cold drink in hand, it was pure bliss.

Guests came and went, enjoying the pool, but the crowd remained manageable. The lady of the house relaxed by the poolside, while I took photos and occasionally dipped my toes in the sand. When we were satisfied, we returned to freshen up, our stomachs rumbling with hunger for lunch.

No need to travel far, just arrive at the third restaurant of Amari, which I would like to recommend, Reef Daily & Wine Lounge. It is the main restaurant for lunch and dinner in the hotel area. The size is compact, but the atmosphere is a little luxurious, just right.

For lunch today, grilled salmon served with mussels, barbecued ribs, grilled chicken breast, and grilled black tiger prawns were the menu for my wife and me. It was delicious and filling beyond description. If you'd like to savor a glass of fine wine, choose to your heart's content, as they have prepared a wide selection.

Indulge in a refreshing dip at the stylish swimming pool after a hearty meal. Immerse yourself in the cool waters and soak up the vibrant ambiance. A visit to Amari Hua Hin is incomplete without experiencing the allure of its stunning pool.

Adjacent to the swimming pool, there is another food service point, Aqua Pool Bar, serving soft drinks, cocktails, and snacks. There are comfortable chairs to relax in, and after swimming, you can sit back, soak up the atmosphere, and order drinks and food.

Our poolside snack break was served with a mouthwatering spread. My friends called it a light snack, but the amount of food was far from light. A pizza with minced pork and basil arrived at the table, along with a set of satay, barbecue, and two glasses of refreshing smoothies. We had just finished digesting our lunch and now we had to enjoy another poolside feast (laughs…).

The poolside relaxation area here is truly excellent, and I must say that the minced pork basil pizza is absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned to my taste.

On an ordinary evening in Hua Hin, there may not be a trendy night market like Cicada Market, which is only three hundred meters from Amari Hua Hin. However, the Hua Hin Night Market and Chatchai Market are still bustling with activity, and it is relatively easy to find parking, unlike on weekends.

In the early evening, our friends took us out for a leisurely stroll and some light bites (again). After all the food we had eaten throughout the day, even a small amount of snacks was enough to make us feel full.

To conclude the day, here is a picture of the swimming pool from the seventh floor at dusk.

On the last morning, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and took a relaxing stroll around the resort. The tranquility of a weekday stay was evident in the lack of crowds and the peaceful atmosphere. We made our way to the Shoreline Beach Club, dipping our toes in the ocean. However, the sky was noticeably overcast compared to the previous day.

After checking out at eleven o'clock and leaving their belongings at the lobby, the time Mrs. X had been eagerly anticipating since arriving at the hotel finally came: it was time for the Breeze Spa.

Breeze Spa is a spa at Amari Hotel. I guarantee that you will be satisfied with the comfort, just like me (haha...). I had a massage course called Hua Hin Tropicana, which is the signature of this place, during my previous stay. This time, the hotel offered me a new course called Kaya Thai massage, which is an aromatherapy oil massage combined with Thai massage. It uses a combination of Western and Eastern massage techniques. It is very suitable because it is comfortable, relaxing, and has the right amount of pressure, unlike pure aromatherapy massage or pure Thai massage.

Here is a glimpse of the ambiance at Breeze Spa before my wife and I retreated to shed our garments and indulge in a soothing massage.

The spa treatment was incredibly relaxing, and it should have been the perfect end to our stay at Amari Hua Hin. However, just as we were about to head back to Bangkok, a friend messaged us to wait for a quick meeting. This unexpected delay led us to discover the Coral Lounge.

The Coral Lounge, located in the lobby, offers a variety of beverages, including wine, tea, coffee, and snacks. It also provides a space for guests to relax and enjoy reading materials or board games while waiting for check-in or check-out.

Mrs. and I sat waiting in the Coral Lounge, where an afternoon tea set was served. Two jugs of hot tea were offered, allowing us to choose our preferred flavors.

The meal set includes both savory and sweet dishes. The top layer features a spicy minced pork burger, highly recommended for its bold flavors. It is accompanied by chicken tortilla and crispy golden bags. The middle layer consists of raisin scones, while the bottom layer offers raspberry cheesecake and chocolate éclairs. This delightful spread transformed the afternoon snack into a full-fledged meal.

After the meeting, my friend took me and my wife to the van stop near Hua Hin Market. We were both very full.
