Hello.

This thread will review our 14-day, 13-night accommodation in Korea (for a travel review, please refer to https://th.readme.me/p/6351). It will also discuss the disappointment of being stood up by a Korean singer... K-pop fans, join us in this emotional rollercoaster! If you're not a fan, no worries, you can still focus on the accommodation review. ^^"

We stayed in four different locations in Seoul and Busan.

**1. Bauhaus Guesthouse Hongdae ₩186,524 for 2 people/ 4 nights**

2. Kimchee Sinshon Guesthouse 76,000 KRW for 2 people for 2 nights

3. Hotel MU Busan We only paid 2,365 baht/3 nights

4. Free Couchsurfing Host for 4 Nights

** **

The claim that the booking was canceled because of a YG artist… the story goes like this…

...In reality, my two friends and I had booked our accommodation at Twotwo House in the Hongdae district approximately two months in advance. A week before our trip, we messaged the accommodation to inform them that a fashion show pass would be delivered to us and asked them to keep it safe. Hansang, the owner of the accommodation, responded amicably, assuring us that they would keep the pass safe. However, they then surprised us by informing us that our booking had been canceled due to a film crew requesting to use the location for filming. They sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused.

"Oh my god!" Wait, don't leave… but Hansang also offered full responsibility by finding new accommodation and not having to pay anything extra… okay, deal.

We then inquired if another junior had also booked a private room at Twotwo and if we needed to relocate. Hansang was surprised and asked who it was. After discussion and clarification, it was determined that they were not using the room our junior had booked for filming. However, Hansang still moved our junior to a single room on the rooftop.

Our new accommodation is the Bauhaus Guesthouse. After searching for images, I was impressed by its beauty and livability.

We arrived at Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3 and walked to Twotwo in less than 10 minutes from the station. As soon as we entered the alley where the accommodation was located, the film set was right in front of us. We didn't dare to go in. We waited humbly for Han Sang and our junior (who had arrived a few hours earlier) in front of the alley.

…If you want to know who the singer is, will we meet again…read on a little further.

The crew guarding the entrance of the alleyway looked at us with confusion, ready to intervene if we approached the set.

Hansang led us to the Bauhaus, which was not far away.

1. Bauhaus Guesthouse Hongdae Price: 186,524 won / 2 people / 4 nights

We arrived at Bauhaus with minimal information and no prior research on the accommodation. However, we were thoroughly impressed. The owners, Onnie and Oppa (who should really be called Auntie and Uncle), took excellent care of us. Oppa, an architect, designed the accommodation himself.

This place is incredibly beautiful, clean, and comfortable. However, there are some strict rules, especially regarding waste separation. Koreans take this matter very seriously. There are also rules about showering and blow-drying hair after midnight, among other things. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and quiet. During our stay, most of the guests were women. I even met a Thai roommate, which made me feel like I was back in my boarding school dorm. Haha.

The first floor features a living room, kitchen, dining table, bathroom, shower room, two computers, and an outdoor seating area.

Breakfast includes bread, juice, milk, and coffee.

We stayed on the second floor in a room with six beds. There were three rooms on this floor, two bathrooms, and two showers. Towels and hair towels were provided. Everything was great!

I don't remember how many floors there are. The rooftop has a washing machine that can be used, but you must stay for 7 nights or more.

Returning to YG singers... our younger sibling heard Han Sang talking to her older sister and saying the words "Kang Seung Yoon SuperStar K". However, they weren't sure what it meant. At that moment, we were excited and screamed, "Kang Seung Yoon from Winner... we like him, we can sing his song 'Pika Ohnda!'".

We sent a photo of the set to our friend without revealing any details, as we were unsure. Our friend, a devoted fan of BL series, responded with a wild guess, saying, "Is that Seung-yoon? He was filming a series yesterday." At that moment, we were astonished and wondered if it could be true.

As soon as I replied "yes", my friend exclaimed and screamed, looking for a picture of the fan club waiting for him to send...

"Oh my god, the green tile floor… it's real! Seungyoon is really in there?"

Our friend who is staying at Two Two, under the same roof as Kang Seung Yoon, found out upon checking in that they were the only guest staying there! They have to live in the accommodation without making a sound, walking softly... I'm both envious and sorry for them, hahaha!

During the day, my younger sibling went out with us. We waited for them at the mouth of the alley. On the second day, we asked the same staff member who was guarding the mouth of the alley, "Is it Kang Seungyoon?" They nodded. I wanted to run into the set.

During the day, we bought a lot of heavy stuff. We came up with a plan… haha! //Why is it scary?// We invited our younger sibling to help us store the stuff at their place. Hehe… but it was really heavy! When we arrived at the entrance of the alley, there were 2-3 groups of fans waiting. We confidently walked into the alley. //Wow, so arrogant!// We let our sibling go in alone, while we waited outside. The staff, who didn't know our sibling, quickly blocked the way and spoke in Korean. The fans of Han Sang quickly explained that our sibling was Thai and lived there, etc.

"Hello," Hansang greeted us. He even engaged in conversation, demonstrating a sense of camaraderie and closeness... with us, that is. Haha.

During that time, we used our farsightedness skills, like when we were copying exam answers, to look into the house.... There he was!!!!! I saw Kang Seung Yoon!!!!!!! I screamed so loud... in my heart. I had to keep my excitement to myself.

The poor girl had to carry almost 10 kilograms of heavy stuff up the noisy iron stairs, but she had to tiptoe as quietly as possible. T.T When she was walking down, the camera was filming, and the crew raised their hands to signal her to stop walking until they cut! ...What does this have to do with us? We stopped breathing with her too.

The younger brother came down and told us... he saw Kang Seung Yoon!!! His face is slimmer, haha. What did he secretly do?

As we walked out, the fans were staring at us. Who are we? We are the ones who belong here, haha.

The drama being filmed is likely "1000th Year Dating," starring Jinwoo from Winner. Let's wait and see... That's all for Kang Seungyoon.

2. Kimchee Sinshon Guesthouse 76,000 won/2 people/2 nights

Kimchee Sinshon Guesthouse: A Budget-Friendly Option Near Hongik University

Kimchee Sinshon Guesthouse is conveniently located near Hongik University Station Exit 3, on the opposite side of the street from the first guesthouse mentioned. It's a five-story building with a predominantly European clientele. While breakfast is not included, the guesthouse offers basic amenities and serves as a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking a place to rest their heads.

Note: The original text mentions that the guesthouse is somewhat dirty, and the reviewer did not take many pictures due to the higher standard of the Bauhaus guesthouse.

The basement houses the kitchen and living room, equipped with a computer, TV, and washing machine. Overall, it appears unclean. If you're not bothered by that, then you can stay here.

3. Hotel MU Busan We paid only 2,365 baht/3 nights

Originally, we booked another accommodation in Busan at this price. However, a friend of a friend wanted to change the accommodation because there were more members. So they will pay the difference for us. Hotel MU is located right at Nampo Station, not far from Nampodong Street, which is a shopping area.

We are the type of people who can stay anywhere, as long as it's simple, cheap, and not too ugly. But when we came here... wow, is this too good?

This image is borrowed from Google.

The room is very large, almost too large, and I'm not used to it. The entrance to the room has a double door, which is used to store shoes.

Is this bathroom for couples...? It's so revealing... When I take a shower, I have to tell my friends not to come over, haha.

The view from our room window shows the Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park.

Breakfast is served in the lobby, which is not very large. There is not enough seating, so some people have to stand and eat at the window. However, it is possible to take breakfast up to your room. The breakfast options include bread, jam, eggs (with a pan to cook them yourself), cup ramen, a microwave, a coffee machine, and water.

4. Free Couchsurfing Host for 4 Nights

For backpackers or avid travelers, Couchsurfing is a familiar platform. For those unfamiliar, we'll provide an overview. We started using Couchsurfing in the middle of this year. When traveling, we prefer accommodations with fewer Thai tourists, allowing us to make friends with locals or foreigners. Additionally, we're interested in experiencing local customs and traveling like a local while saving money. This method offers numerous benefits.

Couchsurfing is the practice of staying with local hosts or residents around the world.

Before we can use the platform, we must first create an account and introduce ourselves. There are two account types: guest and host. As a guest, we can search for hosts in any country and send them accommodation requests. Alternatively, we can become a host ourselves and receive accommodation requests from others. We have the option to accept or decline these requests.

If we find a good host who takes good care of us, they might take us sightseeing and treat us to a meal. We would be lucky.

However, safety should always be a top priority. You can assess the trustworthiness of a host or guest by checking their references on their profile, including their past hosting and guest experiences, locations, and reviews from previous guests or hosts. If you have any safety concerns, it's best to avoid using the platform.

Returning to our host, this oppa was our first Couchsurfing guest back in July. That's how we got to know each other. We told him we were going to Korea this October, and he immediately offered us a place to stay at his house, even offering to be our host... Okay, deal!

Opa's house is an apartment near Gayang Station. It's a medium-sized room with a mezzanine floor, which is typical of Korean accommodation.

Opa doesn't offer much service, they just live their lives and we live ours. As long as we have a place to sleep, that's enough. ^^

Packing our bags before heading back, we're making a mess with our belongings. This area is ours.

A Serendipitous Encounter with Oppa's Accommodation

Our fortunate encounter with Oppa's accommodation proved invaluable. As an avid traveler, Oppa had an abundance of travel gear at our disposal, including tape, magic markers, a weighing scale, and more. Emerging from Gayang Station, we were greeted by Oppa's apartment complex.

Strategically located near Gimpo Airport and equidistant from Seoul Station and Incheon Airport, Oppa's residence served as a convenient stopover point. Airport buses, our intended mode of transportation, passed by the apartment. However, Oppa's negotiation skills secured us a taxi, whisking us to Incheon Airport within half an hour.

During this trip, I spent approximately 6,565 baht on accommodation for 13 nights.

Review completed! I would like to share it with my friends for their consideration. If you like any of the accommodations, please try them out.

You're welcome.
