"When the cold wind returns, I will awaken from my slumber."

A segment of the song "ตามสัญญา" by Pongsit Kamphee stirs within our emotions as the winter breeze brushes against our skin.

As hearts reunite in the winter season, our journey, as promised, begins anew. With affordable flight tickets from a renowned airline, we embark on a comfortable and budget-friendly adventure. Our destination, once again, is the enchanting city of Chiang Mai, where the cool winter breeze awaits.

Our journey to Doi Inthanon in November was filled with anticipation for the cool weather. That night, we camped at "Huay Sai Luang Waterfall," where there are bungalows and campsites for tourists. At night, we gathered around to watch the shooting stars, some saw them, some didn't, we laughed, drank beer, and had fun until late at night.

"Huay Sai Luang Waterfall" is breathtakingly beautiful. The waterfall is massive, with a strong and fast-flowing current. Doi Inthanon officials have posted signs warning against swimming in the area due to the danger. For me, simply standing and admiring the size and beauty of this waterfall is enough. It's so beautiful that I can't capture it in a photograph the way my eyes see it. My Rastafarian brother told me that some beauty is best kept in our memories.

After spending a night at Huay Sai Luang Waterfall, I set my alarm for 5:00 AM and woke up to rouse my friends to see the sea of mist at **"Kew Mae Pan"**. After gathering and having our morning coffee, it was almost 8:00 AM, so we set off from our accommodation to Kew Mae Pan. Upon arrival, we purchased tickets for the Kew Mae Pan Nature Study Trail from the park and booked a local guide to accompany us and provide local information about Kew Mae Pan.

**"Kew Mae Pan Nature Study Trail"** is a 3.2-kilometer trail located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. It is situated within Doi Inthanon National Park and is open to visitors from November to June each year.

As we trek through this dense rainforest, I hear a symphony of sounds that I call the "voice of the forest." Birdsong, the gurgling of streams, the rustling of leaves, and the creaking of trees swaying in the wind provide a comforting soundtrack to our journey.

The Mae Pan Nature Trail is not a difficult hike, and you can walk at your own pace. Take breaks to drink water when you get tired. We walked through dirt, rocks, forests, streams, and waterfalls. I felt that the nature here is still very intact. Thanks to the officials who helped maintain the natural conditions of this place. There are times for tourists to visit and times when the Mae Pan forest is closed to allow the forest to recover.

Along the path, I saw vibrant green moss and wild ferns growing in abundance. Walking here feels comfortable and refreshingly cool. The trees and leaves are lush and green. It's wonderful! As we walked for a while, before reaching the slopes of Kiw Mae Pan, we encountered a hill characterized by a subalpine meadow, a unique feature of Doi Inthanon. The golden-hued grass swayed gracefully in the breeze, creating a soothing sight.

Emerging from the dense jungle onto the grassy hillside, a wide smile spread across my face. The urge to run and frolic in the meadow was overwhelming. The air was fresh and crisp, the gentle sunlight warming my skin without being overbearing. In the distance, our hopes were confirmed. The sea of mist we had longed to see awaited us, stretching out as far as the eye could see.

**"Kew Mae Pan"** is said to be a **"Two-Cornered Forest"** on the mountain ridge. Due to its characteristics, the lower slopes are hot and humid, resulting in a large number of broad-leaved and fast-growing trees. The upper ridge is covered in fog and receives less sunlight, resulting in a predominance of small-leaved, low-lying shrubs. This area is therefore called the **"Hot Forest, Cold Forest."**

**Ki Mae Pan Viewpoint**

**"Lovers' Rocks"** In the center of the Lovers' Rocks, there is also a heart-shaped rock.

Here, the thousand-year-old rose blooms with vibrant red flowers every winter. We strolled, admiring the scenery and the misty atmosphere, filling our lungs with fresh air before returning to the smog-filled city of Bangkok.

"Kiww Mae Pan": A Breathtaking Landscape on Doi Inthanon

Nestled amidst the verdant slopes of Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest peak, lies "Kiww Mae Pan," a captivating landscape etched in the memories of many. As the cool breeze of winter whispers through the air, the enchanting scenery of that day returns, bringing a smile to our faces.

Towering trees and lush greenery paint a vibrant canvas, while the pastel blue sky stretches above. Golden meadows sway gently in the wind, their hues mirroring the warmth of the sun's gentle rays. A blanket of white mist descends from the horizon, enveloping the valley below in a serene embrace.

The memory of "Kiww Mae Pan" is a testament to the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. It is a place where time seems to stand still, allowing us to reconnect with the tranquility and wonder of the natural world. Should the opportunity arise, we eagerly await the chance to revisit this enchanting haven and immerse ourselves once more in its captivating embrace.
