In the afternoon… Phang Nga has only rain and sunshine, and mostly strong sunshine. This is because both sides of Phang Nga province border the Andaman Sea and Phang Nga Bay. What activity can compare to playing in the cool, clear water at a waterfall somewhere? ^_^
"Wang Kiang Ku" is a stream of clear water flowing from the forest of Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park, located in Lam Kaen Subdistrict, Thai Mueang District, Phang Nga Province. It is easily accessible by private car via Phetkasem Road 4 and turning into the alley beside Lam Kaen Post Office. Drive along the road for a few minutes and you will reach your destination.
Plai Wang Kian Ku: This scenic spot offers a refreshing escape for locals and tourists seeking respite from the afternoon heat. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the cool stream, while restaurants and food vendors provide refreshments and snacks. Additionally, mats are available for rent, allowing guests to relax by the water's edge.
Even though it is just a small stream branching off from the main river, the clarity of the water allows one to see the rocks at the bottom with perfect clarity.
While we enjoyed the afternoon heat, we didn't just want to soak in the water, but also wanted to float down the clear stream. Not far from this point, there are several companies offering bamboo rafting services. I chose to use the services of Komol's Corner Bamboo Rafting because a friend had previously rafted there and dropped their wallet into the stream (in a plastic bag). The staff and owner helped them find the wallet, and the owner was very friendly.
Since we arrived around 3 pm, it was almost time for the rafting to end, so I didn't have time to take a picture of the location... Let's just jump on the raft.
The afternoon sun is scorching, but the bright light and the green forest complement each other well. The water is refreshingly cool.
At times, the trees along the path leaned over, forming a tunnel that blocked the harsh sunlight, allowing us to rest with the gently flowing water.
In some sections, the absence of trees allows sunlight to illuminate the colorful rocks beneath the clear stream.
The alternating shade of the trees and the sunlight along the way made us feel less hot in the afternoon.
Though it might be a bit hot without the trees to provide shade, the shimmering light of the water is more tempting to me.
And I also like to look at the rocks under the clear water... When it's hot, I splash cool water on my face and body ^_^
It's a pity there wasn't another raft, today the paddler became the hero all by himself (as for me, I was lying on the raft taking selfies with the water).
The water flow can be swift at times, depending on the terrain. However, there are currently no floods, so there is no need to worry. I will hold on to my camera tightly just in case. >_<
During the season when the forest extends along the riverbank, various types of "snakes" and "birds" can be found. However, I am not skilled at photographing animals, so I did not take any pictures (I prefer to photograph waterways and sunlight).
The more afternoon sun there is, the more fun it is to take photos with the light and shadows, even more than playing in the water.
The water occasionally splashed onto the raft, getting us a little wet (if you're planning to go rafting, bring a change of clothes). However, I adore the crystal-clear water here.
The raft ride took approximately 40-50 minutes, and our guide brought us to the final destination.
The boatman steered the raft to another spot, and the shimmering water reflected the afternoon sun in beautiful rays.
Note: As instructed, I have not translated the original text and have only provided the HTML structure.
We choose to play in this area because the water is shallow and reflects the sunlight, creating a sparkling effect. Moreover, we don't want to miss out on this beautiful atmosphere.
We've already taken hundreds of photos here. ^_^
Praying for a raft or two to pass by, and they actually came.
I finally got the picture I wanted. Hahahaha.
Another sparkle I found is that the sand here has small stones that sparkle like minerals that shimmer under the water like glitter. It might be what makes..."Wang Kian Koo" especially beautiful this afternoon. ^_^
Thank you for the good day.
Thank you for the afternoon sunshine.
Thank you for the clear water and beautiful stones.
Thank you nature for being our friend always ..... even on the days when we don't have a partner (not related).
Let's keep this beautiful nature forever. I will come back to visit again ^_^

The price of a raft is 500 baht per raft, which can accommodate 2-3 people depending on their weight (hehehehe).
