A few baht | Go - Pai I

"Pai" is located in Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province. Pai, or the most popular romantic city, where everyone has to conquer the seven hundred curves to experience the small town surrounded by mountains. Pai is a major tourist destination in the north, with a cool climate all year round.

The first tourist attraction I visited was the Tha Pai Hot Spring. I started my journey at 3:30 AM from Chiang Mai. It was incredibly cold during the drive from Chiang Mai to Mae Malai and finally to Pai. The road is in excellent condition, but it is a winding mountain road with many curves. Be cautious and avoid speeding. If you are adventurous, driving yourself is a good option. However, if you prefer public transportation, there are minivans and even flights available. You can purchase minivan tickets at the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Terminal. Another option is to fly with Kan Air. The tickets are reasonably priced, and you will arrive in Pai quickly. However, you will miss the experience of navigating the 700+ curves. Upon reaching Pai, I stopped at the hot spring. It was a perfect way to warm up after the chilly journey.

The entrance fee to Tha Pai Hot Spring is 50 baht per person, excluding the park's transportation fee. However, as a student, I received a 30% discount, reducing the cost to 20 baht per person. Inside the hot spring, there are shops selling eggs for boiling. A set of 3 chicken eggs costs 25 baht and takes about 25 minutes to cook. The eggs become "ma-tuum" eggs, which are delicious. Give it a try!

After leaving the hot spring, we continued our journey into the city. Along the way, we came across fields of sunflowers that the locals had planted. We stopped to take pictures. The sunflower fields were beautiful. If you go during the New Year, you'll still be in time. I'm not sure if they'll be plowed under after the New Year.

The Pai Canyon, also known as Kong Lan, is a stunning natural wonder characterized by its dramatic rock formations and deep ravines.
