We understand that Bangkok is a top tourist destination that everyone wants to visit. We ourselves have been studying and working in Bangkok for so long that we no longer have any desire to travel there. We find that everywhere we go, we are familiar with it. The only time we are happy is when a new shopping mall opens and we can go there to walk around. Our definition of "traveling in Bangkok" is a one-day trip that ends with us returning home. We have no intention of staying in a hotel, even for a single night. However, the nice hotels in Bangkok are tempting. Sometimes we wonder what it would be like if we were to travel to Bangkok as if we were visiting a different province.

And so, this trip came to be.

Our journey begins with the search for the perfect location in Bangkok. Personally, I have a strong preference for locations along the Chao Phraya River. Capturing the atmosphere of the riverbank through photography, regardless of the specific spot, always results in stunning visuals.

Our journey began at Tha Phra Chan - Tha Maharaj. Honestly, I couldn't decide where to go. For me, Tha Phra Chan has a special charm, whether it's the food or the photo spots. Whenever I'm feeling bored or down, this street is often my first choice for relaxation during the holidays.

Another place that we think is good for relaxing by the river is Tha Maharaj. Every time we go, we get beautiful photos from different angles. Moreover, the cafes here are really suitable for working, right by the river. I would love to move to this area.

After a long day of exploring, we decided to spend the night by the Chao Phraya River for the ultimate Bangkok experience. We chose to stay at the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok, a riverside hotel with easy access. We returned to the Sathorn pier to board the hotel's boat again.

Chatrium's boats depart frequently, approximately every 15 minutes. The journey from the pier to the hotel is relatively short, taking around 5 minutes.

Upon check-in, we immediately headed to the 17th floor. Tonight, we were assigned a Grand Suite 1-bedroom room with a stunning corner view of the Chao Phraya River.

The swimming pool view is spectacular from the window of this room.

After settling into our room, we realized we had forgotten to redeem our welcome drink voucher. The voucher allows guests to exchange it for a welcome drink on the top floor, which boasts stunning views. We had the option to choose any beverage, and we opted for the Chatrium Punch.

After soaking in the atmosphere of the 36th floor, it's time to grab a bite to eat. Across the street from the hotel on Charoen Krung Road, there's a fish porridge shop whose fragrant aroma wafts across the street.

If you're in the area, don't miss the trendy riverside attraction Asiatique. We're determined to capture some photos there tonight. The journey from the hotel to Asiatique isn't far. You can take a leisurely bus ride or, for those who prefer walking, it's a 15-20 minute stroll.

Wandering through Asiatique, we felt our wallets getting lighter with every step. After snapping countless photos, we decided to head back to the hotel, as the traffic was horrendous. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted. The bed and pillows at the hotel were heavenly – so comfortable that we didn't want to leave the room.

We intended to have breakfast early in the morning to avoid the crowds. However, we ended up waking up late and arriving at the dining room around 9 am. As a result, the room was packed with people, and we were unable to take many photos.

The food selection here is impressive, offering a wide variety of Thai, Chinese, and Western cuisines. We particularly enjoyed the dim sum options.

At the restaurant, we had the option of sitting by the river or inside. Personally, I opted for the air-conditioned comfort of the dining room. After our meal, we took a stroll around the hotel, admiring the design and furniture arrangements. It was the perfect setting for some memorable photos.

A staycation in a luxurious Bangkok hotel can be a delightful experience. Embracing the role of a tourist in your own city allows you to discover hidden gems and unexplored attractions. Consider dedicating your free weekends to exploring the city's diverse offerings and indulging in a relaxing getaway.
