This trip was a 3-day, 2-night adventure. To keep things concise, I'll be splitting my review into 3 parts.
**Day 1: Changi Airport -> Porcelain Hotel -> Sri Mariamman Temple -> Buddha Tooth Relic Temple -> Maxwell Food Centre -> Fort Canning Park -> Helix Bridge**
**Day 2: Universal Studios Singapore - Siloso Beach - Palawan Beach - Supertree Grove**
Day 3: Ya Kun Kaya Toast -> Hajilane -> Garden by the Bay -> Changi Airport -> Don Muang (Read reviews here: https://th.readme.me/p/8258)
Day 2: February 19, 2017
8:00 AM: Today, we have an appointment with Universal. We take the purple line from China Town station to Harbour Front station. Follow the signs to Vivo City and go up to the 3rd floor. Since we are using a Tourist pass, we need to purchase an additional ticket to cross over to Sentosa Island. The price is 4 SGD (a one-time purchase allows for unlimited travel around the island for the whole day).
+++There is also a food court near the ticket booth. Those who want to have breakfast here before crossing to the island can do so.+++
Ticket purchase process
1. Click the button below to confirm your ticket purchase.
2. Select the number of tickets you want.
3. The system will display the amount due. Select "Print Receipt" and insert the exact amount. The machine will dispense your ticket, change (if any), and a printed receipt.
Got the tickets! Let's goooooooooooo
8:45 AM. Universal Studios. We're here! The park opens at 10:00 AM, but we arrived early to avoid the crowds. We're hoping to get a solo photo with the iconic globe before the park gets too busy. Otherwise, we'll have to settle for a group photo instead.
**Lake of Dreams:** This easily accessible landmark is a great meeting point for friends before entering Universal Studios Singapore.
With time to spare, I wandered around... following Big Murr's tail.
In front of USS, there are many cute souvenir shops. If you are a fan of M&M's, don't miss Candylicious.
Come here, come here...
It's adorable and delicious... May I have some? ^V^
Hershey's and Garrett's fans are not to be outdone. The stores are located next to each other, so you can stop by on your way back to pick up some souvenirs.
+++ Remember to compare prices! If you compare the price of Garrett Popcorn at Siam Paragon with the price here, buying multiple bags at Siam Paragon is cheaper. Otherwise, you might end up carrying expensive items home! +++
Behind the Candylicious store, there are restaurants, cafes, and an escalator down to the basement, which is the domain of McDonald's. We had breakfast here.
10:00 AM: The gates are now open! Get your tickets ready and let's go! Sundays are usually crowded, so once you're inside, the first thing you'll see is a stand with brochures and show schedules for the different zones. Don't forget to pick one up so you don't miss the shows you want to see.
This fountain marks the entrance to the park. If you turn right, you will find the New York, Sci-Fi City, and Ancient Egypt zones. Most tourists tend to go right, so we started on the left side first to avoid long waits.
Madagascar: A Zone for All Ages
The first zone we encountered was Madagascar, where Alex, Martin, Melman, and Gloria warmly welcomed us. While the rides in this zone are primarily geared towards children, we couldn't resist the allure of a fun adventure. So, we hopped aboard the A Crate Adventure and set sail for the vibrant world of Madagascar.
Stepping outside, you'll encounter this giant tree. It's beautiful, I like it! ^V^
Adjacent to the Madagascar zone is the Far Far Away zone, the domain of our very own handsome green ogre, Shrek.
Behold the grandeur of the castle before entering the Shrek 4-D Adventure within. Embark on a thrilling journey with Shrek and Princess Fiona. +++ Don't miss out! Highly recommended. +++
Near Shrek's castle, Puss in Boots' giant journey will be a thrilling roller coaster chase for golden eggs. It will be exciting and dizzying.^^
Across from the castle is Enchanted Airways, where you can ride a dragon along a track. Before riding, please store your belongings in the lockers to avoid losing them during the thrilling ride. This ride has a moderate height, but it still elicits screams from riders. It's a good warm-up for those who plan to experience the Roller Coaster. (Image source: Internet)
Following the giant's castle is the dinosaur land The Lost World. See, they are guarding the eggs. They look fierce. ^V^
This raincoat was brought from Bangkok specifically for this ride, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventures.
Embark on a thrilling Jurassic adventure cruise. If you haven't brought a raincoat, lockers are available at the front to store your belongings if you're worried about getting wet (locker rental fee: 4 USD). However, if you're not afraid of getting wet and don't want to spend extra money, go for it!
+++ Is a raincoat necessary for this ride? We think it's good to have one, but it's not a big deal if you don't. You won't get soaked, just a little wet to cool down. We got wetter than this during Songkran! If your bag is waterproof, just put your stuff in it and go for it. What you need to be careful about is when the boat hits a rock and water splashes. If you're wearing sneakers, be sure to lift your feet to avoid getting them wet. +++ (Thanks for the picture from the internet)
After the boat ride, we continued to the Canopy Flyer, a hanging roller coaster with a considerable height. The ride offers a delightful view of USS.
13:00. As the WaterWorld show approaches, tourists begin to arrive in droves.
Upon entering, feel free to choose your seat. For those who want to be close to the actors or get wet, we recommend sitting in the front row. Before the show begins, the actors will walk around and greet the audience up close. This is when the "wet" part of the show begins (I didn't take any pictures because I was too busy laughing).
The thrilling performance was excellent, with amazing effects that kept me on the edge of my seat. +++It's another show I highly recommend.+++
After the show, those who want to take photos with the actors, please stay. You will be able to take close-up photos like this.
2:30 PM. We had lunch at the USS Food Court, which is located near the Water World. We used the discount coupons that came with our ride tickets. The food court has a limited selection of options.
Today, we had Hainanese Chicken Rice and Roasted Chicken Rice. While the appearance may not be appealing, the taste was even worse. T___T
+++For those who do not wish to dine here, you may head to the front of USS, where there are various restaurants and a Malaysian food court.+++
Our stomachs full, we moved on to the Ancient Egypt zone. The entrance alone was enough to amaze us with its ancient Egyptian architecture. A must-try ride in this zone is the Revenge of the Mummy ghost train. If you're planning to ride this one, make sure to leave your belongings in a locker (free for 45 minutes).
We then arrived at the most popular zone, **Sci-Fi City**. Our first choice was **Transformers the ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle**.
The simulated scene is very realistic.
The equipment we need for this is a pair of 3D glasses.
"Wow, it was so exciting! It felt like we were actually fighting alongside the Decepticons. I felt like a hero protecting the world. But after the ride, I felt super dizzy. T____T In the end, we had to skip the double-track roller coaster. If we had ridden it, I think I would have thrown up my lunch."
The final zone is **New York**, featuring a charming **street show** and the **Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase**, a delightful roller coaster perfect for children.
** **
Besides the rides, what we love about USS is
+++ The systematic layout of the floor plan, with clearly separated entrances and exits, and each exit often has a souvenir shop where we can choose to buy souvenirs to take home.
+++Public drinking fountains are widely available throughout the city (in a city where water is expensive, free water fountains can save a lot of money).
+++ The food truck is decorated very cutely. I like it.

4:00 PM: Beach Time!
After enjoying the thrilling rides at Universal Studios Singapore, let's head to the beautiful beaches of Sentosa Island. Take the Monorail from USS and alight at the Beach Station. Sentosa offers a variety of transportation options, including the Monorail, Buses, and Trams, all available free of charge. Upon exiting the station, look for the designated bus stop, while the Tram Station is located slightly further ahead.
This is what the Tram looks like. We'll be taking it for a sightseeing trip.
We took the Tram to Siloso Beach, a simulated beach that feels very real, especially in the hot weather. This beach is a hub for activities such as swimming, banana boating, beach volleyball, and paddleboarding. It's more crowded than other beaches during the day.
In addition to the water sports, there are other activities that require an additional fee. The beach atmosphere here is distinctly different from that of our home country. In Thailand, we tend to focus on relaxation and leisurely swimming, but here the emphasis is on serious exercise. On the roads, you will see many people cycling, as the only vehicles on the roads are trams. The roads are clear, making cycling comfortable and safe.
As we continue exploring the beach, we will eventually come across this sign, which serves as a symbol of this particular beach.
5:00 PM. After leaving Siloso, we took the Tram back to Palawan Beach.
Do you see those two towers in the distance? We should walk up there for the view.
The path leading to the suspension bridge is overgrown with vegetation. The suspension bridge is not very wide, but it is possible to pass each other.
We have arrived! The place we are standing now is called "Palawan Island", which is considered the "southernmost point of the Asian continent". Just a little bit of knowledge... ^^...
This viewpoint is considered another peak spot for enjoying the scenery on Sentosa Island. The sea view behind it during sunset is breathtaking.
The front view is amazing, we can walk on both towers, there is a bridge connecting them. Overall, we think this beach is suitable for those who like to drink and dance, because there are many restaurants and beer bars. It must be very lively at night.
After taking in the breathtaking views, we hopped on the Tram and headed back to Siloso Beach to catch the Monorail back.
**6:00 PM.** Departed Sentosa and boarded the purple line from Harbour Front station to Dhoby Ghaut station, where we transferred to the yellow line and alighted at Bayfront station. The walk through the station itself took several minutes... We stopped to take photos. ^V^
Tonight, we are heading to photograph the **Supertree Grove**. Along the way, we will capture the scenery as we go.
The Supertree Grove consists of 18 trees, each as tall as a 16-story building. Even with a wide-angle lens, it was impossible to capture the entire scene. Next time, I'll need to bring a drone!
We arrived just in time for the 7:45 p.m. light show, which featured music from various countries, including Thailand's "Loy Krathong Song."
8:30 PM. After taking enough photos, it was time to return to the hotel to rest. Our late-night meal tonight was...drumroll...instant noodles from Thailand! After our lunch at USS traumatized our taste buds, we decided not to risk another bad meal. Thankfully, we had brought instant noodles with us, which saved the day. We also bought eggs and sausages from a nearby convenience store to add to the noodles, which helped us survive another meal. (The black egg you see is a century egg.)
The food was delicious. I don't know if it was because I was hungry, but I ate it all.
11:00 PM. Sleep tight everyone. You can read the review of the last day below.

- There are 3 ways to get to Sentosa. You can read more information on this website: http://www.talontiew.com/transportation-in-sentosa/
- Raincoats are available for purchase in front of the rides at Universal Studios, but they are expensive. Alternatively, you can choose to get wet and use the air dryer to dry yourself after the ride (additional charges apply).
- Sentosa Island has 3 main beaches.
1) Siloso Beach: An artificial beach offering a variety of land and water activities. It also hosts the nighttime show, Song of the Sea.
2) Palawan Beach: Boasts stunning views from the southernmost point of mainland Asia. Highlights include crossing a rope bridge and climbing a viewing tower. The beach also features restaurants and bars for evening drinks.
3) Tanjong Beach: Situated further away and offering a tranquil atmosphere, this beach is popular for sunbathing and family relaxation.
- We noticed that sunsets in Singapore seem to occur later than in our home country, making daylight hours appear longer (although this could be subjective).
- The weather here is similar to ours, hot and humid with occasional light showers that pass quickly.
