This is our first time in Koh Samui…

I want to say that our decision to come to Koh Samui was very difficult.

Personally, I was anti-Koh Samui for a long time, for various personal reasons.

As this was our first time here, we gave ourselves 4 days and 3 nights in early February.

Traveling to Koh Samui

Train Journey:

We opted for the affordable option of traveling by Thai train, which cost 257 baht. Our journey began at the Bangkok Railway Station at approximately 7:30 PM and concluded in Surat Thani around 7:00 AM the following morning.

From the station, walk out on the left-hand side. There will be a Phun Phin bus passing the Sea Tran Pier. You can board the bus here for 15 baht per person.

If you tell them you're going to Koh Samui, they'll recommend all sorts of things to you. 5555

They also said that if you come again, tell them to drop you off at Wat Traithammaram. The Seatran Ferry Terminal is opposite this temple.

Sea Tran offers a combined bus and ferry service to Don Sak Pier for 230 baht. The ticket includes one bus ticket and one ferry boarding card.

It took about an hour to get from Seatran Transportation to Donsak Pier. I slept soundly.

After sitting on the train with a stiff back,

But when we arrived at the pier, it was raining heavily. I was so sad because we checked before coming that it wouldn't rain during this time.

The ferries to Koh Samui are large, with both air-conditioned and open-air seating.

While the open-air deck offers scenic views, it can be uncomfortable in the rain or cold weather.

The ferries have power outlets for charging devices and shops selling snacks and drinks, although the prices are relatively high.

One notable observation is the low-lying clouds that are characteristic of the area.

After a boat ride of about an hour, we finally arrived at Koh Samui.

Since we were staying in Koh Samui for several days, we decided that renting motorbikes would be the most convenient option.

We rented the motorbikes right at the pier for 200 baht per day per bike.

Initially, we had planned to come as a group of two, but somehow we ended up with five people. Out of the five, only two of us knew how to ride a motorbike.

Oh well, such is the life of women who have to help each other out. T_T

After renting a motorbike, we rushed to our accommodation as it was already past noon when we arrived at the island.

Rain was about to fall again, and it took about 20 minutes to get from the pier to our accommodation.

However, we didn't know the way and ended up driving past it. It took us more than an hour to finally reach our destination.

It was a super long journey.

We stayed at this hostel for 4 days and 3 nights.

We chose a hostel because we only needed a place to sleep. Also, Koh Samui is huge, and it would take several days to see everything. So we didn't spend much time at the accommodation. We preferred to explore the island. We stayed here for 3 nights without going anywhere else.

If you come to Koh Samui, we highly recommend this place: Sirin Samui.

Located near Haad Chao Mai Beach.

Why did you decide to stay here for 3 nights? First of all, it's a hostel that feels like sleeping in a hotel, sleeping in a pool villa, sleeping in your own home.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a swimming pool, which surprised us as we had never encountered a hostel with such a feature.

Moreover, the hostel provided a kitchen where guests could prepare their own meals, a welcome amenity for those on a tight budget.

For instance, on days when our funds were running low, we could easily whip up a simple dish like instant noodles.

Alternatively, you can have fried eggs, bread, or even seafood if you want to buy some.

It feels like a pool villa, cooking and eating with friends, happy.

Flirting is okay, but frying an egg sunny side up is just perfect.

Our breakfast menu for some days is super easy to make. We are girls, but we don't cook very often. 5555555

The accommodation will be in the form of bunk beds with lockers. You can put a key in the locker to keep your belongings safe and not worry about them being lost.

In addition to keeping the key in the locker yourself.

Amenities include:

Personal TVs for each bed, ample power outlets, individual air conditioning units, and shared bathrooms separated by gender.

There is also a large common area with Wi-Fi and games.

The hostel charges 450 baht per person per bed, but if you book through Booking, you can get a discount.

We ended up paying 380 baht per night and slept in the same room.

Samui is a large island, and it takes half a day to a day to drive around it.

The roads are hilly and winding, with some sharp turns.

During our three days on Samui, we visited several places. Let me tell you about them.

Hin Ta Hin Yai Rocks

The drive from the accommodation to Hin Ta Hin Yai Rocks took approximately 45 minutes, with some minor traffic congestion.

Visiting Koh Samui, I was eager to witness the iconic Hin Ta Hin Yai Rocks with my own eyes to ascertain their grandeur.

The magnificence of nature is evident in the breathtaking views of Hin Ta and Hin Yai. The Rock Bar, a hidden gem near Hin Ta, is a must-visit destination.

The Rock Bar, a top-rated establishment on Tripadvisor, offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

The bar has an indie, reggae vibe and attracts mostly foreign customers.

From this spot, you can see a panoramic view of the ocean. It's a private and peaceful area, perfect for swimming. The water is a stunning shade of blue.

Smoothies are 60 baht per glass.

The Jungle Club

The restaurant is located on a hilltop opposite Chaweng Beach.

The view is amazing. We found out about it from an Instagram post by a foreigner. We were following her and she happened to post about it while we were in Koh Samui. We decided to go right away. We didn't know that there was a shuttle service for 100 baht per group. We rode our motorbikes up, but the road was not normal. It was a very steep hill. Our friends who went up earlier had their motorbike fall over, so they had to park and walk. We were able to ride up, but we had our friend who was riding with us get off and walk.

Warning!!! ....Those who are going to this shop, please do not bring your own motorcycle. From our own personal experience.

The ascent was uneventful, but the descent nearly cost us our lives. The steep and long downhill slope caused our brakes to fail, forcing us to coast down at the mercy of gravity. We ended up careening into a ditch. Fortunately, we escaped with minor injuries, but our friend who was riding pillion suffered a broken leg. Locals informed us that this straight stretch of road has witnessed numerous motorcycle accidents due to brake failure, resulting in severe injuries such as shattered knees and head trauma. We were fortunate to escape with just a shaken state. Upon reflection, we realized that there is a shuttle service available for transportation to the top, a fact we were unaware of prior to our harrowing experience.

LAKE HOUSE

Driven by our hunger, we found ourselves at this lakeside restaurant in the evening. We were famished but couldn't decide on a place, not wanting to follow reviews and preferring to discover something on our own.

After much deliberation, our hunger pangs became unbearable, and we decided to settle for any restaurant.

We stumbled upon this lakeside gem, offering a breathtaking atmosphere.

Located near Central Samui, search for it on the map.

The food was just okay, not particularly delicious. However, the atmosphere was fantastic, so relaxing that I could easily have fallen asleep.

I loved the unique menu design, which resembled a traditional Thai sarong pattern.

This restaurant offers more than just rice dishes. It also serves a variety of desserts, including bingsu, cakes, and smoothies. It also has a bar-like atmosphere, with beer and live music. It's like a one-stop shop for all your dining needs.

If you're looking for a true beach experience, Cheingmon Beach is the place to be.

The restaurant is located across the street from our accommodation. Simply cross the road and walk a short distance down the Family Mart alley to reach the beach.

Cheingmon Beach is actually quite long. You can walk to the other end of the beach to watch the sunrise, but if you have a car, it's probably easier to drive.

I absolutely love this shop. It's a som tam stall located right in the middle of the beach, and the aroma is so enticing, it doesn't even care about those who have already eaten!

The owner is also incredibly cool. While other shops are typically situated along the beach's edge, he stands out by setting up his stall right in the middle, proudly wearing his motorcycle taxi jacket while selling his delicious som tam.

Before heading back, we caught the sunrise at Chedi Mountain.

Unfortunately, we didn't get any good pictures because we're terrible photographers. 555555

And to top it off, I was so drunk the night before that I lost one of my cameras. I went back to the accommodation, but it was gone.

By the time I remembered, it was too late. I'm so sad about the photos and videos that were on that camera. T T

Another must-try in Koh Samui is roti. It doesn't matter which shop you go to, but the ones sold from food carts are the best. We've tried several, and they're all delicious. The roti has a crispy exterior and a soft interior, and it stays crispy even when it's cold. It's not chewy or sticky.

The banana and Nutella filling is especially amazing. Highly recommend it!

On the way back, we took a bus. The uncle who rented us the motorbike drove us to the Koh Samui Transport Station.

There is a bus service on the island. We took the Sombut Tour bus.

The fare was 592 baht per person, which included the ferry ticket.

We will board the tour bus here, and it will take us to the ferry.

The tour bus will board the ferry with us and then meet us again at Don Sak Pier.

The price of 592 baht includes a buffet meal.

The bus will stop at Chumphon and provide a southern-style buffet.

It was super spicy! I didn't know at first, and they didn't tell us when we got off the bus. I almost bought rice, but luckily I heard the announcement first.

But my two friends, they already bought rice and ate it! 555555

This review will focus solely on the buffet menu, as shown in the photos.

My review of Koh Samui is now complete, but there's still so much to explore!
