Le Vela Khaolak, a new hotel under the Casa De la Flora Khaolak group, recently had its soft opening on Songkran Day (April 13, 2017). Located on Bang Niang Beach in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province, the 4.5-star hotel boasts an interesting design and concept, along with attractive promotional rates. Despite being in its soft opening phase with some areas still under construction, the allure of a new establishment proved irresistible, prompting us to book a room without hesitation.
The room we booked is a "Pool Access Room".
Check-in is complete! You can now check in at 2:00 PM hotel time. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink of iced strawberry tea and a cool towel (with a garland for Songkran).
Due to the large number of photos, I will divide the review into 3 main sections:
1. Pool Access Room
2. Miner's Bar
3. Kokulo Beach Club
Let's take a look at our bedroom first. It's a Pool Access Room, which means you can jump straight into the pool from your room. They say our room has almost the best view of all the Pool Access rooms. [All photos were taken with an Olympus E-PL7 camera and have not been edited.]
The rooms are beautifully decorated, with the backdrop showcasing an ancient nautical map. The hotel's design is inspired by the concept of ancient seafaring, with its name, La Vela, referencing the Vela constellation, which represents the sails of a ship.
Four large, fluffy white pillows, along with smaller indigo pillows that complement the backdrop, create a modern, stylish ambiance. Edison light bulbs add a touch of cool sophistication to the room.
The bed faces the swimming pool, allowing you to watch your friends swim while lying down.
Light brown built-in furniture is easy on the eyes and complements the light from the lamps.
The door is a left-opening sliding door. Inside is a spacious bathroom.
The interior is simple and elegant, not too much, not too little.
The most preferred feature is the Rain Shower, which offers adjustable water pressure levels.
The small desk corner provides enough space for writing notes.
The outdoor area features a jacuzzi for a relaxing soak. (The model is fully clothed, including a hat.)
The other side is a gray sofa with sky-blue pillows, perfect for sitting, lying down, sunbathing, or just relaxing.
How is it? The Pool Access Room looks good and has a good lineage. Is it worthy of you? Haha!
Let's take a look at the swimming pool.
The pool is only 120 cm deep, making it safe and comfortable for non-swimmers.
From your room, you can either swim or walk to Miner's Bar to order a drink.
Relax by the pool and enjoy the stunning ocean views.
The best part was that we came during the soft opening, so there weren't many people around. It felt like we had the entire pool to ourselves.
During the hot season, Khao Lak boasts a particularly pleasant atmosphere, making it a top choice among tourists.
The golden glow of the setting sun shimmered across both the sea and the swimming pool. A perfect score of 100.
At nightfall, the room is transformed into a haven for relaxation.
Warm white lighting is evenly distributed, with multiple switches for individual control, catering to personal preferences.
The ambiance alone makes me want to collapse onto the bed (if only I weren't busy taking pictures to share with you! >_< ).
Having explored the rooms and enjoyed the pool, let's take a look at the poolside bar. The bar is called
Miner's Bar
Poolside bar with a smooth floor that extends almost to the pool's edge.
The gray color of the tin ore, the old-fashioned wooden crate paint, and the Edison filament bulbs give it a mining feel, but a cool one.
The menu offers a wide variety of beverages.
Although Miner's Bar is a bar for miners, the bartenders are attractive and popular with women.
The beverages include both cocktails and mocktails.
Hello SUMMER! Cool drinks, azure skies, turquoise pools, and verdant trees. OMG, this is simply divine!
The final section to be presented is KOKULO Beach Club, which serves as both a dinner and breakfast venue. Additionally, it occasionally transforms into a trendy party space.
As the final light of day fades, leaving only the twilight hues painting the sky.
This will be a very romantic and beautiful moment. I must say that the designer here did a great job.
We can confidently say that we have captured hundreds of images during this period.
The food is beautifully arranged and looks delicious. Just by looking at the arrangement, you know it's delicious.
Everyone says that Phang Nga...time flows slowly, and we slowly took our time to eat the many dishes we ordered, with the evening atmosphere of KOKULO Beach Club, where there were only a few tables of customers.
The sky gradually darkened.
As darkness descends, the cerulean pool lights illuminate, transforming the romantic ambiance into a vibrant scene.
We walked around the pool several times to see different angles of this place, and we must admit that it is truly beautiful from every angle.
We spent most of the night drinking and taking photos at KOKULO Beach Club like moths drawn to a flame.
In the morning, KOKULO Beach Club transforms into a relaxed dining space, infused with the scent of the sea and the cool morning breeze.
The breakfast buffet offers a decent variety of options.
For breakfast, I had a small amount of food.
There's only an omelet.
Just a conflict.
And a little bit more.
I'm not very good at choosing food, but I can tell you that I refilled everything twice. Haha!
I got to see
