On the recent Asalha Puja holiday, I had the opportunity to visit Ayutthaya with my mother. She had been wanting to go, so she invited me along (with a little bit of persuasion!). This resulted in a short trip.

This trip was unplanned, so we didn't see much. Additionally, since we visited on a holiday weekend, there were many other tourists, resulting in fewer photos than usual.

We boarded the train at Hua Lamphong Station at 10:50 AM and arrived in Ayutthaya in less than two hours.

After getting off the train, walk straight into the alley. There you will find a pier where you can take a ferry to the other side. The ferry costs 5 baht per person.

The sentence is already in English and does not require translation.

The next stop is the Chao Phrom Market Pier.

After disembarking from the pier, we immediately went to find something to eat as it was lunchtime. ^^

With full bellies, they were ready to continue their journey.

This trip, we stayed overnight because my mother didn't want to go home yet. Personally, I think one day is enough to explore Ayutthaya, but you need to leave Bangkok early in the morning.

After checking in, I took a leisurely stroll to the temple, which was conveniently located near my accommodation.

Approaching the temple now. ^^

Let's start at this temple first.

The entrance fee for Thai citizens is 10 baht, while for foreigners it is 50 baht.

The place was packed with people today, both Thai and foreign tourists. The challenge was to take photos with as few people as possible. 555555555

Here, let's try a panorama shot.

There is very little left.

Not a Panorama Panorama.

And if you come to Ayutthaya and don't take this picture, it's like you never came at all. (At least, that's what I think.)

A sense of regret lingers, knowing that past events led to the current placement of the Buddha's head.

After visiting Wat Maha That, we continued on to Wat Phra Si Sanphet.

Upon arrival, the first thing you will encounter is a road sign.

Ahead is the Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, and to the right is Wat Phra Si Sanphet.

Without hesitation, he walked to buy an entrance ticket.

The first impression I had was that the temple was very grand. I wanted to take a panoramic picture, but I ended up with this instead.

Well, that's it for today, viewers. Happy Monday, again. 55555555555 (Just kidding, Mom.)

Back to serious mode.

Following that, we proceeded to perform the ritual of circumambulation. Typically, this practice involves walking around the main temple structure. However, due to ongoing renovations, we instead circumambulated the Buddha statue.

A few things before you go

We then returned to our accommodation and checked out the next day due to my mother's sore feet.

A short trip to change the place of merit from a temple near home to Ayutthaya, because it is a province very close to Bangkok. It is also another province suitable for making merit, worshiping Buddha images, visiting ancient architecture, and much more. :)
