"Koh Samet" we've been there so often... We ourselves have been there so often that lately, whenever we go to the sea, Koh Samet will always be the last choice. But come to think of it, we've been rejecting Koh Samet for many years. What has changed now? Let's go see. What will Koh Samet, which we are familiar with, be like now?
Let's go on a trip! ^^
DAY 1.
This trip was intended for relaxation, so I woke up late and took a leisurely BTS ride to Ekkamai to catch a van. After the van reorganization at Victory Monument, anyone going to Koh Samet now has to board here. Upon arrival, just follow the signs.
Please proceed to window 2 to collect your medication.
Once you have purchased your ticket, you can take a seat on platform 22. Unreserved seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. ^^
Upon arriving at Koh Samet in the evening, we opted to relax in our room for the first day. For this trip, we stayed at Ku at Sea, which had recently opened. When we visited in March, the staff informed us that it had only been open for a few months. The resort is conveniently located near the path leading down to Sai Kaew Beach. The accommodations were excellent, and while not directly on the beach, they were very convenient.
If you can't remember where it is, this is the same place as Jump At Sea, a beautiful and stylish cafe located near the entrance to Haad Sai Kaew Beach. For prices, you can call 086 393 0329 for more information.
The entrance is located next to Jump At Sea, through a small door. Upon entering, you will be greeted by charming decorations.
Let's take a look inside the room.
These snacks are free.
Breakfast coupons are available, along with discounts at the beachfront bar.
Those who are tired from playing in the water, come up and weigh yourself to see if you have lost any weight. ^^
As mentioned, I arrived late in the evening on the first day. After settling in and checking in, it was already dark. So, I didn't go anywhere today. I found some food near my accommodation and relaxed in my room.
DAY 2.
Waking up hungry? Simply head downstairs to Jump At Sea for a convenient breakfast.
Breakfast is available as a set, so choose according to your preference.
Let's take a look at the atmosphere at Jump At Sea.
After a hearty meal, we rented a motorbike and rode around the island, stopping at various beaches to observe the changes that had occurred. As noon approached, we headed to "Ao Lung Dam," eager to see the condition of the iconic wooden bridge, a popular spot among young people. We had heard that part of it had collapsed, and we were also drawn to the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely lunch while soaking in the relaxed atmosphere of the "Apache" restaurant.
At Ao Lung Dam, there are many simple-looking houses to choose from. However, we secretly like this house. We can wake up and sit and watch the beautiful sea view in front of the house.
No matter how many times I come here, the atmosphere is still as good as ever.
The wooden bridge, which was the intended destination, remains unrepaired and in a state of disrepair. Despite this, it is still possible to walk across it and take photographs. In our opinion, the bridge's broken and uneven planks create a unique and visually interesting aesthetic.
The sandy beach and seawater at Ao Lung Dam, although the sand is not as white as Ao Phai or Haad Sai Kaew, is still considered clean and inviting for swimming.
After taking a stroll and snapping some photos, we headed to the "Apache" restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable, but the highlight was definitely the view.
Seeking a tranquil corner on Koh Samet to unwind and let your worries fade away? Look no further than Ao Lung Dam. You won't be disappointed.
After indulging in the delicious food and breathtaking scenery, we embarked on a journey around the island. The most noticeable change was the "roads." The overall condition of the roads has significantly improved compared to the past. However, we couldn't help but reminisce about the time when Koh Samet had simple dirt roads. It felt more classic. On the bright side, the new roads make riding a motorbike much safer and more convenient. In no time, we had visited every beach and were heading back towards the main pier. We decided to stop by the famous "Bar & Bed Sleepless Society" to enjoy the sunset view. This establishment is not only a popular nightlife spot, but it also offers a delightful atmosphere in the late afternoon and evening.
After that, they returned to their lodgings to rest and prepare for their return trip the next day.
Although the atmosphere of Koh Samet has changed somewhat with the times, it must be admitted that it remains a nearby island that can still recharge us as well as ever. I apologize for not visiting for so long. I promise to return soon, Koh Samet.
