Greetings, JG! Welcome back after a long hiatus. I understand you've been busy transitioning into the working world as a salaried employee, with limited vacation time. Despite the short break, you're eager to travel after saving up for some time. You spontaneously decided to take a trip with a friend who only had two days off, leading you to choose La Vela Khao Lak as your destination. You're excited to share your experience, so let's dive right in!

La Vela Khao Lak is a newly opened hotel inspired by the concept of "VELA," which means "sail" in Latin. This concept connects to the history of Takua Pa, where the hotel is located. In the past, Takua Pa was a trading hub for people from all over the world, most of whom traveled by sailing ships. During that era, navigation relied heavily on maps and stars. La Vela Hotel incorporates this history of travel and exploration into its design. Many people may wonder why the swimming pool and buildings are triangular. The inspiration for these designs comes from the sails, or VELA, themselves. I must admit, I learned this from the hotel staff. In this article, I will try to keep my embellishments to a minimum and focus mainly on the pictures. However, looking at it from above, it doesn't seem like I've minimized them much. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with a red welcome drink. I can't remember what it was, but I do remember the staff telling me. Due to the long holiday weekend and the hotel's popularity, the check-in process took a while. The staff informed me that the hotel was almost fully booked that day, and they were busy working. As the staff escorted me to my room, they explained the different areas of the hotel, such as where to eat breakfast and dinner and the names of the different zones. I will provide more details about these areas in the pictures. Please note that these details are based on my memory.
Welcome Drink
La Vela Khao Lak Hotel is divided into two main zones: the beachfront zone and the zone located slightly further from the sea. It offers 5 room types: 1. Deluxe Poolside, 2. Deluxe Oceanside, 3. Pool Access Rooms, 4. Pool Access Grand, and 5. Family Room. The hotel boasts a large swimming pool (truly large and white, as it is paved with marble) for guests to enjoy. The room I booked, Deluxe Oceanside, is located by the sea, but unfortunately, it does not have pool access.
The Deluxe Oceanside room is 57 square meters in size, offering ample space. Upon arrival, the staff will explain the room's features, including light controls. It's crucial to pay close attention to these instructions, as the light switches can be tricky to operate. The room's amenities and fixtures are top-notch, living up to the hotel's reputation.
After a satisfying nap in the room, it's time to experience the outdoor atmosphere. Outside, in addition to the beautiful swimming pool, there are groups of buildings designed to harmoniously blend with the surrounding gardens and landscape. The view is truly breathtaking.
Next, the beachfront zone is home to Kokulo Beach Club, a restaurant and bar with a fantastic atmosphere and a prime location right on the beach.
After enjoying the daytime atmosphere, let's take a look at the hotel from a nighttime perspective. I can tell you that the lights are on full blast, making it beautiful in a different way.
Due to my stay coinciding with a Saturday, the Kokulo Beach Club will be hosting a Saturday Pool Party with a DJ playing music throughout the night.
After a full night's sleep, a new day dawns with a gentle drizzle. However, after the rain, the sky always brightens. In this part, we will take a full look at another set of patterns. Note: Since I have entered the workforce full-time, I have less time to write. Therefore, this article is short and may or may not convey the full message. Thank you for following.
"Happiness is in our hands."
Happiness can be found everywhere, just like traveling, which is also a kind of happiness. So, I wish you a happy journey.
