"Baan See Fah" Restaurant Atmosphere, Samut Sakhon
While passing through Mahachai, I wouldn't say it was a trip to Samut Sakhon, as my main purpose was to get new glasses. You might ask why I went all the way to Mahachai when I live in Phra Nakhon. Well, my friend owns an eyeglass shop there. I had tried other shops before, but the glasses weren't durable, comfortable, or clear enough. My friend invited me to try their shop, and I was pleasantly surprised. The glasses are comfortable, the lenses are high quality, and they come with a three-to-five-year warranty. Plus, they offer frame replacements.
While other places may offer similar services, the prices at my friend's shop, "Prasit Glasses," are remarkably affordable. Even with the need for expensive progressive lenses, the total cost was only 6,000 baht, compared to over 10,000 baht at other shops. The savings were significant enough to justify the longer drive.
Having frequented the area often, three years have passed since my last visit, coinciding with the age of my glasses. Upon returning, I was captivated by the route. Instead of exiting Rama 9 Road to turn onto Sai Mai 2 Road, which intersects with Ekamai Road, I continued driving until I reached Nakhon Chai Si. I completed a large circular route, arriving at the restaurant in the late afternoon.
She had to take her to the market to find food again. At first, she planned to take her to another restaurant, but it was closed. The restaurant next door, "Blue House," was open, so she took her there. She picked up the menu and quickly ordered because they were so hungry they could barely stand it.
Deep-fried pork with acacia omelet and shrimp curry, 50 baht
The first dish served was stir-fried pork with sour curry and acacia pennata with shrimp. The first sip of the curry broth was an eye-opener, as it was extremely sour. The pork, on the other hand, was very bland, as if to compensate for the sourness of the curry. It took several bottles of water to wash away the taste.
Stir-fried bamboo shoots with fresh shrimp - 50 baht
This dish is a welcome change of pace, successfully redeeming the previous overly spicy curry. The mild spice level allows the fresh shrimp and fragrant holy basil to shine through. The bamboo shoots have been meticulously washed and boiled, removing any bitterness, and the shrimp are large and succulent, justifying the price.
Pork Steak 80 Baht
The next dish was a Western-style pork steak, but it seemed to be a rather meager one, as it was quite thin and resembled the popular "skinny" physique. It was accompanied by bread and shredded cabbage topped with a moderate amount of grated carrots. However, the gravy was the most disappointing aspect of the dish, as it was both incredibly thin and bland, to the point where I had never encountered such a lack of flavor before.
Honey Toasts Vanilla Ice Cream 50 Baht
Honey Toasts Chocolate Ice Cream 50 Baht
My friend recommended this place, so I ordered both flavors. I must say, this restaurant should sell burgers instead, because they are really good. I was going to order coffee, but my friend said, "This place doesn't focus on coffee." So, I didn't end up ordering coffee.
After a delicious meal, my friend paid for it as an apology for getting us lost on the way. The host was happy to pay, so we ended up having a satisfying meal, keeping our money, and even getting a nice pair of glasses to take home.
Thank you for watching.
