On August 28, 2017, I had the opportunity to stay for free for 1 night at the Ibis Styles Bangkok Khaosan Viengtai Hotel, which is a hotel in the Accor Hotels group that just opened in April 2017.
Originally built in 1953, the former Vieng Tai Hotel has been transformed into the modern Ibis Styles hotel.
The location is excellent. It is situated in the Bang Lamphu area, Ram Butri Alley. It is very easy to find.
We loved the vibrant and eye-catching colors of the swimming pool tiles. Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night and didn't bring our swimsuits (a slight regret).
The hallway leading to the dining room and lobby is adorned with numerous historical photographs and images from the past.
We stayed in room 808.
There are no beverages available in the refrigerator.
The room is a comfortable size, neither too small nor too large.
View from the window
This corner will be a Streats bar/cafe.
Relax and enjoy drinks, food, and the scenery by the roadside in a laid-back atmosphere.
As evening fell, street vendors began selling food. We decided to eat rice with curry at a restaurant near the entrance of the alley, which seemed safe due to the large number of customers. This should help us avoid an upset stomach.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes at reasonable prices.
The door of this house is lovely. I like it.
Let's go grab some breakfast.
This dining area is charming. We like it.
This translates to: "Breakfast looks like this."
Stir-fried Soy Sauce Noodles
White beans in tomato sauce.
Pork sausage
Chicken sausage
Baked potato with stir-fried cabbage
The breakfast spread was adequate, but the flavors were somewhat bland.
Let's stop by and buy some snacks to take home.
Based on my observations since yesterday evening, the pastries here are baked fresh daily. When I checked this morning, the bread I wanted to eat from yesterday evening was already gone.
Purchased 2 croissants, 2 cups of tiramisu cake, 1 slice of carrot cake, and 1 slice of blueberry cheesecake for a total of 500 baht, exactly as the voucher stated.
A large, fragrant croissant that is very tempting.
The sweetness was just right, not too overpowering. Before I knew it, I had eaten the whole piece myself.
Advantages:
- Prime location: Situated in a prime location, the property offers easy access to a plethora of dining options, providing convenience and comfort.
- Proximity to shopping: The close proximity to shopping areas ensures residents can easily fulfill their shopping needs.
Disadvantage: The room we stayed in had a strong odor from the drain when we entered the bathroom, but there was no odor in the shower.
