29.05.15 ..

Hi everyone! I haven't been here reviewing my traveling experience for a while because I was occupied by my Thesis ><. However, after I have graduated for just 2 days, I am very lucky to be invited to stay at one of the very nice luxury hotels (best selling hotel in Agoda) where it is located at the very center of Downtown Bangkok, The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam for giving me a 1-night complementary stay.

The Berkely Hotel is located at the heart of Pratunam District where it is famous for its shopping attractions and local business areas. The hotel is connected to Palladium World Shopping Mall through the Lobby. Moreover, Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam are just across the street.

I have arrived the hotel in the afternoon and found that there are many Chinese guests staying here.

There are 2 towers in the hotel, Main Tower and North Tower and I will be staying on 33rd floor of the Main Tower which is the Executive Floor this time : )

I get to stay in room number 13397 this time which is the Executive Luxury Suite room located at the corner.

In case that you would like to request Do not Disturb or Make up the room, you can switch on the button from inside the room and it will show at the front door, no need to hang the sign like most of the hotels.

I have requested the twin bedroom and I am very happy that they are queen-size beds. It must be comfortable and I love that they provide many pillows.

Petchburi Road view can be seen right from the working desk.

The room is fully-equipped with everything such as tea, coffee, kettle, iPod docking station that can be used together with iPhone, TV, and DVD player, and so on.

The bathroom is pretty big. You can enjoy the rain shower or dip in the bathtub. Furthermore, if you put up the blind next to the bathtub, you will be able to enjoy the panoramic view of lively Bangkok while dipping in the bathtub.

All toiletries are from Harnn brand. I bet those who love the spa must know this famous high-end brand very well and you all will love it here : )

I have settled well and ready to take you to go and explore the hotel, let's go!

The swimming pool is on the 11th floor and there are towels provided.

While enjoying the snack at the lounge, you will also be able to enjoy the live Thai Classical Music at the Lobby. This must be attractive for foreigner guests.

Well, I guess it is time for shopping. Let's start with Platinum Fashion Mall!

This Ice cream stall is very popular among the female tourists and children, people are all lining up ><

Another landmark around this area and it is not far from the hotel is this Ganesha and Trimurti Shrine in front of Central World. I am here on Friday and there are not many people because they believe that the best time for praying is around 9 PM on Thursday so you can expect to be crowded around that time. You can buy flower for praying there directly. It would be about 80-100 THB and you can bargain a bit to be like 70-80 THB : )

For those who love to hang out with your beloved friends, listen to music, Groove at Central World is a great choice. There are many restaurants and cafe for you to choose from and from there you can walk to Siam easily.

We are going to Silom by taking the BTS sky train at Siam station in front of Siam Paragon ~

Going to Silom we need to get off at Sala Daeng station but first have to look for the train that is heading to Bang Wa direction.

From Sala Daeng BTS station, you can take the exit number 5 to go to Silom MRT station. On the other hand, you can take the exit number 3 if you want to explore Silom.

We explore Silom for a while and since it is pretty late at night, my friend and I decide to go to Train Night Market Ratchada straight away by taking the subway from Silom MRT station.

It is easy to get to Train Night Market Ratchada by taking the subway. After getting off at Thailand Cultural Centre station then it is right next to The Esplanade Shopping mall.

Train Night Market Ratchada is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 5 PM to 1 AM. It is full of clothing stalls, food stalls, or you can find a place to chill out listening to the music and many more.

After shopping and having so many good food here, we have just realized that it is already midnight and there is no more BTS sky train or MRT. Therefore, we take the taxi back to the hotel and it is only 70 THB.

The breakfast venue is on the 10th floor and opened from 6 AM to 10 AM. Even though we have arrived for breakfast at 9.30 AM, the buffet still has variety kinds of food not that empty like in some hotels.

I would say that the breakfast buffet line here is pretty similar to other hotels. It offers both Western and Eastern cuisine such as steamed rice, noodle, congee, bread, chesse, fruits, and so on.

We come back to our room and start packing before checking out around 11 AM.

In summary....

- The hotel is located in a very good location. It is very easy to get to the hotel from Suvarnabhumi Airport. From the airport, you can take the Airport Link and get off at Ratchaprarop station and take the taxi or get off at Phaya Thai Station and take the BTS sky train to Chit Lom station and walk to the hotel in the Central World direction. In addition, the hotel is surrounded by many shopping attractions such as Palladium World Shopping Mall, Platinum Fashion Mall, Central World, and Siam.

- The guestroom is totally clean. And you have a choice to have your bed sheet and linen changed daily or can help to sustain the environment by not changing them everyday.

- The majority of the guests are from China.

- The guestroom is not quite soundproof. I try to check the room by turning on the music in the regular volume level through the speaker and I go out to check it in front of the room, after closing the door I still could hear the music quite well. However, I slept very well at night though : )
