All you can eat dim sum at Sui Sian Restaurant, Landmark Bangkok

This article, written by "ภรรยาหา สามีใช้", invites readers to experience a change of pace from international cuisine by indulging in an all-you-can-eat dim sum experience at Sui Sian Restaurant, located on the 10th floor of the Landmark Bangkok Hotel.

Getting to the Hotel:

By BTS: Take the BTS Skytrain to Nana Station (Exit 2). Walk approximately 50 meters to reach the hotel.

By Car: Look for the hotel between Sukhumvit Soi 4 and Soi 6. Ample parking is available. After parking, take the elevator to the 10th floor to access the Sui Sian restaurant.

After exiting the elevator on the 10th floor, you will find a dining room on your right.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a spacious Chinese restaurant capable of accommodating up to 180 diners. Additionally, the restaurant offers private rooms for groups of 10 and designated "Private Zones" for larger gatherings of up to 80 people. This impressive capacity is one of the aspects that particularly impressed me.

To avoid disturbing other guests while photographing the abundant food on the table, we were seated in a private room. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, making it ideal for family gatherings or business meetings.

Let's move on to the topic of food and prices. For the All you can eat dim sum at Sui Sian Restaurant, it is only available for lunch. The prices are as follows:

With the price out of the way, let's take a look at the extensive menu available for the All You Can Eat option. Due to the sheer volume of choices, exceeding 40 items, I will present the menu in image format for easier viewing. The menu features a wide variety of steamed and fried dishes, offering a delightful culinary experience.

For those who feel that the All you can eat menu is not enough, you can order additional A la carte dishes. During November and December, Chef Ming, the resident chef of this restaurant, has created almost 10 special mushroom dishes for you to try. Chef Ming (Lo Wei Ming) has over 25 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, specializing in Cantonese, Sichuan and Shanxi styles. Therefore, each dish created by the chef is sure to please many people.

I had the opportunity to try two A la carte dishes: "Whelk stir-fried with tenderloin, mixed mushrooms, and fresh chili" (650++ baht per dish) and "Snow fish stir-fried with Pa Yi mushrooms" (850++ baht per dish). Both dishes were delicious, but if I had to choose one, I would pick the "Whelk stir-fried with tenderloin, mixed mushrooms, and fresh chili." Chef Ming's preparation was perfectly balanced, and the meat was incredibly tender. If I recall correctly, the meat in the dish was likely Angus beef.

After a quick bite of A la carte dishes, it's time to dive into our All you can eat dim sum feast. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves for now, and then I'll give you my overall impression of the meal at the end.

After sampling a selection of the dishes, it's important to note that this was just a fraction of the extensive menu. Had we ordered everything, my wife and I would have surely burst! Now, let's delve into the quality and taste. The flavors of many dishes were excellent, indicating the use of high-quality ingredients. The portion sizes were also generous, with 2-3 pieces per dish being the perfect amount. Any more and we wouldn't have been able to try as many options.

My favorite dishes from this meal were the dim sum, especially the large, meaty dumplings. The deep-fried shrimp with creamy salad was also excellent, with large, succulent shrimp. The scallop dumplings had a springy texture and the dough was perfectly elastic. The tender pork ribs were delicious and not tough, and I haven't seen this dish offered anywhere else, so it's a must-try for anyone visiting this restaurant. Finally, the custard and char siu buns were a delight, with flavorful fillings and delicious dough.

However, for those who find the dim sum a bit too rich or want a hot soup to help them continue eating, there's more! In the All you can eat menu, you can also order soup, rice, and desserts at no additional cost. Here are the options available:

Soup

  • Seafood Sichuan Soup
  • Bamboo Fungus Soup
  • Fish Maw Soup in Red Sauce

Rice and Noodles

  • Fried rice with crab meat
  • Wide rice noodles with seafood gravy
  • Rice vermicelli stir-fried with roasted duck

Dessert

  • Ginger-infused tapioca pearls
  • Cantaloupe sago
  • Lychee in syrup

Each person can order one dish from each category. Today, my wife and I had the opportunity to try all the dishes to share our experience with you. Based on our preferences, we found the Sichuan seafood soup, stir-fried rice noodles with seafood, glutinous rice balls in ginger soup, and cantaloupe sago to be the most enjoyable. The Sichuan soup was particularly impressive, not only for its generous portion of scallops, shrimp, and shiitake mushrooms but also for its well-balanced flavor that avoided the excessive sourness often found elsewhere.

After indulging in dozens of dim sum baskets, our bellies are now so full that our pants are about to burst. It's time for the concluding remarks of our review of Sui Sian restaurant at the Landmark Bangkok Hotel. Let's go through each aspect one by one, as usual.

Food Review: A Culinary Journey Through Exquisite Flavors

The culinary experience at this establishment was predominantly characterized by its high-quality ingredients and well-executed dishes. The majority of the dishes fell within the realm of "good," showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using fresh, premium ingredients.

Among the standout dishes that left a lasting impression were the Sichuan soup, the creamy shrimp salad, the dim sum, the tender pork ribs, and the savory buns. These dishes exemplified the restaurant's ability to deliver both classic flavors and innovative culinary creations.

However, the true highlight of the dining experience transcended the all-you-can-eat menu. The "Whelk Stir-fried with Beef, Assorted Mushrooms, and Fresh Chili" stood out as an exceptional dish. The tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the whelk, combined with the savory flavors of the beef and the aromatic blend of mushrooms and fresh chili, created a symphony of taste that lingered long after the last bite.

This dish serves as a testament to the restaurant's ability to elevate simple ingredients into a culinary masterpiece. The harmonious balance of flavors and textures, coupled with the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients, elevates this dish beyond the realm of the ordinary.

In conclusion, the dining experience at this establishment offered a delightful journey through a diverse range of flavors. While the majority of the dishes were commendable, the "Whelk Stir-fried with Beef, Assorted Mushrooms, and Fresh Chili" stood out as a true culinary gem, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to excellence and its ability to transform simple ingredients into an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Culinary Diversity: A Feast for the Senses

The Sui Sian restaurant boasts an impressive array of dim sum options, exceeding 40 delectable dishes encompassing both steamed and fried varieties. This extensive selection caters to diverse palates, offering unique delicacies rarely found elsewhere, such as deep-fried tender pork ribs, shrimp-stuffed fish maw, sesame balls filled with lotus seeds, and lotus leaf-wrapped rice. Additionally, the restaurant provides a diverse selection of soups, rice dishes, and desserts, each with three distinct options. This culinary abundance makes Sui Sian an ideal destination for large gatherings, offering a satisfying experience for families and friends alike.

Restaurant Cleanliness: This aspect passes with flying colors. The restaurant is spotless and boasts a spacious, airy dining area that is visually appealing and comfortable.

Employee Service:

My observations on employee service are limited due to the low number of patrons during my visit and the private dining room setting. However, based on my interactions with staff, including inquiries and parking validation, I received courteous and helpful service.

Accessibility: The restaurant is conveniently located just 50 meters from BTS Nana station, making it easily accessible by public transportation. For those driving, the hotel is clearly visible and offers ample parking. However, it's important to note that the hotel is situated on Sukhumvit Road, which experiences heavy traffic, especially during weekday evenings. Therefore, be prepared for potential delays if traveling by car.

Value for Money:

In my opinion, the price of 812 baht per person (excluding drinks) is reasonable considering the taste and variety of the food. However, if you consider the location, accessibility, and service, it might feel even more worthwhile. The value proposition is further enhanced with a Club Landmark card, which offers a 20% discount on food.
