Top summer destinations include the beach.

As someone who enjoys the sight of a clear blue sky and bright sunshine, I, too, have longed to visit the beach. For this particular beach trip, I was determined to find a location with crystal-clear waters within a reasonable distance from Bangkok. After careful consideration, I settled on Koh Kham, a destination that had been on my list for quite some time but never materialized due to lack of opportunity.

The statement claims that Koh Kham is not far away because it is located in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. It is one of the islands under the supervision of the Royal Thai Navy and is open to tourists from September to April on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays only.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that a significant number of people visit Koh Kham.

No matter how difficult it is, we will not give up and we will achieve our goal.

There are two ways to purchase tickets: by phone reservation or walk-in. Please refer to the details in the image below.

We rushed to book tickets at the Ko Kham office of the 1st Naval Area Command. We chose to book tickets for the 8:30 AM trip. The officer informed us to come and pick up the tickets around 7:00 AM.

Tickets secured! Pack your bags and let's embark on our journey.

We set off early Saturday morning to arrive at the ticket pick-up point on time.

The ticket booth is located near the entrance gate of the Department of Construction and Development at the Sattahip Naval Base.

We arrived around 7:00 AM. The queue was already long, and I was completely bewildered. I wandered around in a daze, looking for the ticket pick-up point for those who had booked by phone. Even with a phone reservation, we still had to stand in a long line to get our tickets.

Got the tickets! Smiley

The adult ticket price is 250 baht per person (including round-trip transportation and a glass-bottom boat tour to view the coral reefs).

After finishing, I waited to board the bus to the boat launch at Khao Ma Jor Pier. The queue to board the bus was quite long. I looked at my watch and realized it was already past eight o'clock. Looking at the queue in the picture, I knew I wouldn't make the 8:30 am boat. I had even arrived earlier than the time the staff had informed me.

I must confess that I am feeling a bit discouraged at this point, but I am also reminding myself that I have come this far and I should keep fighting. I am trying to visualize the clear blue ocean to keep myself motivated.

After disembarking from the vehicle, officials instructed us to wait in a designated area for our turn to board the boat. We stood under the sun for a considerable amount of time, which was quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, the sky occasionally became overcast, providing some respite from the intense heat. Otherwise, we would have been severely sunburned.

Is there no shade in that area? Here is my response:

1. There is shade available, but due to the large number of people, it is not sufficient.

2. Once your number is called, please proceed to the bridge and wait in line.

The waiting time was quite long, and there was no shade available.

Finally, a voice shouted, "Come on board!" Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized I was finally going to the island.

The pink boat is very bright.

We boarded the boat around 10:00 AM. The boat ride was not very long, I remember it was probably no more than 40 minutes, and then we arrived at Koh Saemsan.

Before participating in activities, visitors are requested to listen to information about Koh Kham and designated swimming areas. Staff will also explain the activities and rules on the island.

Before we head to the beautiful beach, let's explore the food options first. It looks like there are plenty of choices, so we can relax and enjoy exploring the island.

Many people come here to take pictures. If you want to rent snorkeling equipment, it's available nearby. On this trip, we didn't go snorkeling, we just came to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

Snorkeling is available directly from the beach.

Kham Island offers a variety of activities, including kayaking, hiking to the viewpoint via a nature trail, and glass-bottom boat rides to observe fish. Choose the activity that best suits your interests.

Most visitors come in families and groups of friends. The beach is crowded with people.

We continued walking to reach the wooden bridge.

Another stunning spot with crystal-clear water.

I saw a glass-bottomed boat playing in the distance.

Reaching the end of the island, all you see is endless green and blue. Swimming is not permitted in this area.

We strolled around for a while and it was already noon. We decided to return on the 1:30 PM boat trip.

This fulfills our purpose of coming to Koh Kham.

We arrived at the pier to wait for the return boat. It turned out that it was not yet time and there was a queue for the glass-bottom boat. In order not to waste time, we went on a glass-bottom boat to see the fish. The glass is attached to the bottom of the boat, allowing you to see the fish and coral reefs, some clearly and some not so clearly. But it was fun.

After finishing the glass-bottom boat ride, the big boat arrived just in time. Bye Bye Koh Kham.

Upon returning to shore, my partner pleaded with puppy-dog eyes to stop by the Percula Farm. Since it was nearby and on our way, I agreed. I must confess that my partner always insists on visiting this farm whenever we're in Pattaya or Sattahip. We've been there so many times that they could navigate it blindfolded.

It takes only ten minutes to drive here. (If you can't find it, use Google Maps for directions.) The entrance fee is 20 baht. The opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Percula Farm is the largest clownfish farm in Thailand. They breed their own clownfish and also have other marine fish on display.

The child was delighted to visit the clownfish farm.

Is it cute?

Contrary to popular belief, clownfish are not limited to the orange and white variety depicted in Finding Nemo. The pictured specimen, for instance, is a naked clownfish.

Children will likely enjoy the photo opportunities.

Follow the arrows.

Upon exiting, you will encounter a pond where clownfish are bred.

We used to buy clownfish here. They let us choose from this pond. I forgot to mention that we keep saltwater fish at home. That's why my boyfriend likes to visit here.

As you continue walking, you will pass several more ponds, each containing a variety of fish species.

The blue tank also has...

This is called an Emperor Angelfish, another one of our favorites.

These three are Longfin Bannerfish.

This is a must-stop spot for photos every time I come here. I love the colorful houses in the middle of the sea.

After enjoying the view, we drove straight to Pattaya South, Soi 10 to check in at our accommodation for the night, "Nusaba Pattaya". Upon arrival, it was just as beautiful as the pictures.

Nusaba defines itself as a "Boutique Culture Villa". I once read in an interview that

Embracing the beauty of cultural fusion, the architecture of Nushaba Pattaya seamlessly blends Western, Arabic, Chinese, and Thai influences, creating a harmonious expression of cultural diversity.

Upon entering, the swimming pool is the first thing you will encounter. This is another popular spot for taking photos.

We have booked this room.

Upon entering, one cannot help but be impressed by the room's quality, which surpasses its price point.

You can relax on the balcony even though there is no sea view. The atmosphere is so beautifully decorated that it makes you feel comfortable wherever you look.

This area serves as both a dining space and a check-in/check-out counter.

The snacks you see are available for you to enjoy at any time.

After a short break, it's time for dinner. We have a reservation at "Silver Lining Pattaya." One of the reasons we chose this restaurant is because we wanted to enjoy the sunset at Wong Amat Beach.

Silver Lining is located in North Pattaya, on Soi Na Kluea 18. The restaurant is situated within the same complex as...

Upon arrival at Zire Wongamat Condominium, please drive in and park your car. A staff member from the restaurant will be waiting to greet you.

We have reserved a table by the beach.

This is an outdoor seating area by the beach. If you are hot, you can sit in the air-conditioned room. It is also beautifully decorated.

And this is the reserved table.

While waiting for the food, I enjoyed the beach atmosphere and watched the sunset.

The food here will mainly focus on Japanese cuisine.

There are also Italian and Thai options available.

As darkness falls, the staff will illuminate the space with candles and live music will commence.

We sat for a while, feeling drowsy, probably because we had woken up early and spent several hours in the sun. Although we wanted to stay longer, our bodies protested and urged us to return to sleep.

In summary, while the food at Silver Lining was unremarkable, the atmosphere was exceptional, making it one of the best places in Pattaya to enjoy a pleasant ambiance.

On the second morning, we woke up early to capture the atmosphere. The pool photos I posted earlier were also taken in the morning, so there were no people around.

Another thing we love about taking pictures is the light and shadow of the iron bars. I don't know why I like it, but I can't help but take pictures when I see it.

I like all the tile patterns here.

Breakfast options include chicken biryani, chicken rice, and fish porridge. Each guest will receive a set of fried eggs and sausages. Sliced bread and Thai desserts are available for self-service. The Thai desserts are particularly delicious.

Upon departure, the staff kindly provided us with snacks and water, even offering us to take some from the refrigerator. We were truly impressed by Nusbha. Not only was the accommodation beautifully decorated and comfortable, but the staff was also incredibly attentive and helpful. When considering value for money, we compare it to the amount we paid. We can confidently say that Nusbha offers exceptional value for the price.

Our trip to Koh Kham has come to an end. We found Koh Kham to have beautiful, clear water. The journey itself was not difficult, but the large number of people caused some delays. If you are looking for peace and privacy, Koh Kham may not be the best choice.

Personally, I have come to see with my own eyes that there are beautiful beaches near Bangkok that are not inferior to those in the south. I think it is worth visiting Koh Kham. For this year, Koh Kham is still open to tourists until May 1st.

If you missed this round, wait until the end of the year when the island reopens. Then come visit Koh Kham with us.
