Ferry Trip to Koh Lipe

I frequently visit the sea, so when I heard that Koh Lipe in Thailand has three main beaches, I knew I had to visit! I booked a ferry ticket online from Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lipe and was ready for an adventure.

My journey was as follows:

1. Check-in at the pier
2. Boarding the ferry
3. Ferry transportation
4. Ferry docking at the pier
5. Arrival at Koh Lipe

Check-in at the pier

We had booked our tickets with Tigerline Travel. We arrived at the pier about half an hour before the departure time as instructed in the documentation. We exchanged our printed voucher for a ferry ticket (which came in the form of a sticker). The lady at the counter informed me that the journey would take 9 hours, so I bought some food and water for the trip.

2. Boarding the Ferry
After exchanging the passenger ticket for a sticker card, passengers must wait for instructions from the ferry counter staff to board the ferry. When the ferry arrives, passengers will bring their belongings that can be taken on board the ferry, while the staff will collect and store the passengers' luggage. The ferry is free seating. As we look around, we notice that the ferry has restrooms, televisions, and life jackets for passengers in case of an emergency.

3. Ferry Transfer
After approximately one and a half hours of travel, the ferry arrived at the island, where all passengers were required to transfer to another ferry with all their belongings. The second ferry was an upgrade from the first, as it was an air-conditioned ferry. Since all luggage was tagged with the passengers' names, there was no need to worry about bags getting mixed up or lost.

Three hours after departing by ferry, the boat came to a sudden halt at a pier on one of the islands. Simultaneously, vendors brought food and drinks aboard, walking around the ferry and offering passengers the opportunity to purchase refreshments. All passengers were required to transfer to a third vessel.

5. Arrival at Koh Lipe

The third ferry offered a unique experience, allowing passengers to enjoy the sea views from the sundeck. Despite the lack of seating, no one seemed to mind, as they were captivated by the stunning scenery. After another three hours, the ferry arrived at Koh Lipe pier, completing the approximately nine-hour journey from Koh Phi Phi.
