Krabi... with mountains, with us, with the sea.
Go hug him in Krabi. . . . . .@,@
Krabi is a province in southern Thailand, renowned for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, caves, and over 100 islands. Beyond its captivating coastline, Krabi boasts a mountainous landscape. Let's embark on an adventure to explore its peaks.
Let's get started.
Departure on June 29, 2018
The journey began on June 29, 2018, aboard AirAsia flight FD3215 (10:10 PM). This flight, part of AirAsia's extensive network offering seven daily flights to Krabi, provided a convenient and affordable travel option.
Waiting to board at Gate 53
Everyone Can Now Fly
Warp speed! Whoosh!
1 hour and 30 minutes, it's like magic, I'm already in Krabi!
This is...station...K R A B I
Stepping onto Krabi soil at 11:36 p.m. is quite late, even young children are already sleepy and yawning.
For those traveling on late-night flights, fret not! The airport offers shuttle buses to Krabi Town for just 90 baht and Ao Nang for 120 baht. As we had someone picking us up, we didn't get to try the shuttle bus ourselves. The journey from Krabi Airport to the city center is only about 10 kilometers, making it a relatively short trip.
Hooray! We've arrived at our accommodation. Amity Poshtel is a chic hostel in downtown Krabi, conveniently located near the walking street. Thanks to my sister for dropping me off, as it's eerily quiet here at night.
Check in and go to sleep quickly.
Let's cut to the chase. Good night, my dear.
Zzzz
"Good morning, Krabi, my love."
The first thing to do is to find a vehicle. Anything that can take us anywhere, but!!! It must not be expensive, you know. There you go, there you go, there you go! The hostel offers motorbike rentals for 200 baht (24 hours). I'll take this one, please.
Let's greet the morning with a picture of food. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Dim sum is a must-try in Krabi.
Dim sum at "Sai Mai" restaurant. Wait, are they selling dim sum or silk? Haha, just kidding! They sell dim sum!
Wow, everything looks so delicious! I want this, that, and that too!
Okay, here is the translation of the sentence:
But it's 20 baht per cup, so let's just get 3 cups for now.
The shop will also provide hot tea. Enjoy a cup of tea in the morning.
The braised pork ribs congee and youtiao we ordered are still available.
After eating, I was so full that I couldn't eat anymore. It's a good thing I didn't order more, or I wouldn't have been able to finish it.
Let's talk about the taste! Oh my goodness, it's so good, so smooth, so delicious! Seriously, I'm not exaggerating or getting any benefits from the restaurant. This is just my honest opinion. If you're in Krabi, you have to try their dim sum. We're begging you!
A full stomach is a happy stomach! It's true. Now that we're fueled up, let's get going!
Our first destination was the "Emerald Pool," aptly named for its stunning green hue. This iconic landmark is a must-visit for any traveler to Krabi.
We traveled by rented motorbike, filling it with 80 baht worth of gasoline, to Emerald Pool, a distance of approximately 60 kilometers. We were excited and a little nervous about the possibility of rain during our journey. Fortunately, we were lucky and the weather was sunny and hot.
We have arrived! Yay!
Emerald Pool: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Forest
The Emerald Pool, a stunningly clear body of water nestled within the Kaeng Krachan National Park, offers a captivating experience for nature enthusiasts. Visitors to this hidden gem must pay an entrance fee of 20 baht for Thai citizens and 200 baht for foreign nationals. The pool is open to the public daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Attention! No food or beverages are allowed inside. Please leave them with us. Thank you for your cooperation.
Treasure it in your memory.
Upon entering, you will encounter two walking paths leading to the Emerald Pool. Don't worry, we will explain them to you.
- Path 1: A nature study path with a wooden bridge that stretches along a lush forest, easy to walk and approximately 1,400 meters long.
- Path 2: Gravel path, 800 meters long.
We chose to enter through path 1 and exit through path 2.
Along the trail, informative signs provide interesting facts about the various plant species.
The first point of interest along the nature trail we recommend is "Sa Kaeo Pool", a large pool with crystal-clear water where you can clearly see small fish swimming. However, the Wildlife Sanctuary does not allow tourists to swim in Sa Kaeo Pool to preserve the environment and protect the aquatic life that lives there.
Ah, what's that green thing with a shimmering light? Found it! Emerald Pool.
A stunningly clear pool of water nestled in the heart of the forest, its emerald-tinged water shimmering with hues that shift with the time of day and the light.
Regarding swimming, I cannot swim and am afraid of water. Dipping my feet in the water is enough to make me happy.
The water isn't that deep, but I'm scared. You understand, right? Oh, man...
**Recommendation:** Visit the pool **early in the morning** before the tour groups arrive. This will allow you to enjoy the pool without the crowds.
The return journey was made via Route 2, a gravel road.
Hold on! Almost forgot! There's a welfare shop inside. Feel free to buy anything you like.
The return journey is on a smooth dirt road with large, shady trees on both sides.
The water in Emerald Pool is both cool and clear.
Let's go on a journey.
Next station > > > Khao Hong Nak
The thrill of exploring Krabi lies in witnessing the breathtaking views of the sea and the vast limestone mountains, which can be a little daunting. The beauty of the over 500-meter-high cliffs is both awe-inspiring and thrilling.
Khao Hong, also known as the "Sleeping Dragon Mountain," is located within the Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, approximately 30 kilometers from Krabi town.
Following the GPS on our phones, we found ourselves in a rubber plantation. Oh no! Are we lost? Time is running out, and so is the fuel in our tank.
The first time I used a coin-operated fuel dispenser, it was a bit expensive. It cost 40.99 baht per liter, but I didn't have any other options. I had to fill up the tank.
After a long journey, we finally arrived at Khao Hngon Nak at 3 pm. There was no turning back now, we had to climb the mountain and race against time. Let's do this!
The trailhead features a small ranger station where you can sign in before starting your hike. No entrance fees are required. Be sure to note down the ranger's phone number in case of an emergency.
Nature study trail at Khao Hong Nak, 3.7 km long.
Sure, here is the translation:
Come on! Just 3.7, we can do it!
Just a few steps into the hike, we crossed paths with a Western woman who asked if we were close to the park checkpoint. I wished her the best of luck, a well-wishing laced with a hint of concern. Why the need for such an intense blessing? Surely, it couldn't be that bad, right?
The initial section of the trail is a gravel path with intermittent inclines.
Why do we feel so weak? Why are our legs so weak? Are we getting tired too quickly?
We haven't had lunch yet, have we? Oh my, that's a bummer. We stopped to eat at a spot with stairs, where we had brought grilled chicken and sticky rice. We're saved! Let's keep going, what are we waiting for? It'll be dark soon.
The trail alternates between gravel, steep slopes, flat sections, and stairs.
Along the way, there are scenic viewpoints with sheer cliffs offering breathtaking views of the landscape below.
As we approached the final kilometer, the darkness of the approaching night was not the only challenge we faced. A light drizzle began to fall, which, while refreshing, threatened to obscure the sky and make visibility difficult.
We then encountered the last group of foreign tourists, about 3 people, who were about to return. Due to the rain, the sky was overcast, and the view was obscured. They advised us to turn back, saying it was pointless to continue as everything was white. They jokingly insisted that we should trust them.
We don't believe it! We have to reach the goal no matter what. If it's closed, so be it. We've come this far, we can't give up now.
The rain continues to fall, the sky is overcast, and everything is shrouded in a white haze. Please, please stop.
The rain has finally stopped.
Success! ! !
Wow, just wow! It's incredibly beautiful! A million wows!
After the rain, the sky is always beautiful.
"Do you see that rainbow... I'll keep it for you."
It is worth the effort.
Highlights
Trembling legs!!!
The fun is over, let's go back because it's getting dark. It took us 2 hours to walk up 3.7 kilometers to reach the top of the mountain. It's considered a good time.
The descent was always faster than the ascent, haha. We practically ran because it was getting dark. We didn't want to be caught in the dark because we might get lost in the forest, were unfamiliar with the trail, and there was also the danger of wild animals.
In the end, we made it down before 7 pm. Hooray! ! !
And we were the last group to come down. We were the only car left, haha. 555
He rode his motorbike back as it was almost completely dark.
On the right-hand side after leaving Khao Hong Nak
We encountered the last rays of light fading at the edge of the sea. It was indescribably beautiful, like a painting we had seen on a wall. The sun was slowly setting, gradually disappearing behind the mountain peaks and the vast expanse of the sea. It was truly a picture of perfect beauty.
As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the ocean, we are enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere.
We quickly headed back to transform ourselves to continue walking on Krabi Walking Street.
The walking street is located at King Kong intersection. The market sells a variety of goods, including handmade items, clothing, souvenirs, and food and beverages.
The main attraction of this market is the Krabi Walking Street Stage. This stage is open to anyone who wants to showcase their talents, and most people who perform there sing songs.
Strolling through the market, one is greeted by a cacophony of international music, from Thai to Chinese to Western tunes. The sheer diversity is both overwhelming and amusing, creating a vibrant and eclectic atmosphere.
Enjoying a meal while listening to a mix of Chinese, Western, Isan, Thai, and Lao music can be a unique and enjoyable experience.
Feeling a sudden craving for roti. Since I'm in the south, I have to try the local roti. Just one piece, please.
This round roti contains milk, while this one contains egg. This large roti also contains egg, and this one contains milk. Wow!
The day is over, and the schedule was packed. My body needs rest. See you tomorrow morning, my love. Sweet dreams.
Hello, Krabi.
We booked a long-tail boat tour for 400 baht. The tour program included 4 islands. We had a great time exploring the islands and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
The tour company arranged for a pick-up at 8:00 AM in front of the hostel, which was very convenient. We are going to the beach! Someone is coming to pick us up.
Upon arrival, proceed to the registration point and listen to the instructions from the crew. You will receive a pink wristband.
We enjoy listening to them speak English with foreign tourists. Just speak, don't be shy, it doesn't have to be perfect, just understandable. Yes, good, good, we like it.
We embarked on a long journey by boat.
The first destination is the Talay Waek.
Where is the parting sea? My brother said it wouldn't part today. Shocking! It didn't part, so it didn't part. Wow.
According to the boatman, the parting of the sea depends on the waxing and waning of the moon. If you want to experience the sea parting, you should research the specific dates and times when it is likely to occur.
The text describes a boat trip to a nearby island for snorkeling. The island, known as Koh Gai, is a popular diving spot with boats from various companies bringing tourists to the area.
Where's the black photo?....^#!-/+$&=?> No, I'm still scared. I don't dare to post it. I can take a picture of someone else.
After finishing the diving, we stopped for lunch at Koh Poda. The tour included lunch, which was a buffet with rice, chicken tom kha, stir-fried vegetables, and fried chicken. The boat also provided drinking water and fruits (watermelon and pineapple). It was a good value for the price and service.
Koh Poda is an island within the Ao Phang Nga National Park, which also encompasses the Phi Phi Islands. The entrance fee is 40 baht per person. The island is relatively lush, with abundant trees, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. It also features a park concession store, offering a convenient amenity.
There is still 1 island left to visit, Railay Beach and Phra Nang Cave.
The ship can continue sailing.
We have arrived at Railay Beach.
Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.
The interior of the cave houses the Phra Nang Shrine, where visitors can pay their respects to the Buddha statues enshrined within.
While many may perceive Railay Beach as an "island," it is actually situated on the mainland. However, access is solely by boat due to the beach being surrounded by steep mountains on all sides, rendering it inaccessible by any other means.
Cool boat for sale
We have completed the tour of all 4 islands and returned to shore.
We are full of Vitamin Sea.
The tour bus then safely dropped us off at the hostel.

We left our bags here since morning and snuck in for a shower before heading back. Don't tell anyone, oops! Hehe.
We have time to spare because our return flight is not until 8:30 PM.
Let's take a stroll around here and find a ride to the airport. We ambled along, heading towards King Kong Intersection, then turned towards the fresh market until the end of the Black Crab Pier. There, we found a queue of shared taxis, one of which was blue. This 50-baht ride would take us to the airport. We decided to hop on the blue taxi. While waiting, we crossed the street to enjoy the breeze.
The wind was gentle, and the atmosphere was delightful.
This is Black Crab Pier... but we didn't go looking for the black crab (a bit of a shame).
The bus must be blue. The side sign will say Krabi - Airport - Nueang Klong.
The scene cuts to Krabi Airport.
Sigh, I have to return to Bangkok already. I was having so much fun.
We opted to fly with AirAsia again, choosing flight FD3216 (20:30) due to its convenient timing.
Warp! Whoosh!
And we've safely arrived back in Bangkok.
Every journey brings new experiences, etched forever in our memories.
Until next time, Krabi.
Farewell
Until we meet again
