Today, we'll take you to eat giant crab legs at COMSEN Otaru Canal Dining in Otaru, Hokkaido. It's important to note that this restaurant isn't the cheapest or the best, as it's located in the heart of Otaru's tourist center, resulting in higher prices. However, there are various price options available. The restaurant is situated near the bridge crossing the canal, close to the tourist information center. It's easy to find, on the right-hand side.

The cheapest option, priced at 1,800 Yen as indicated on the left-hand sign, offers access to sushi, salad, and snacks. While this may seem like a reasonable choice, it's important to note that crab legs are not included. For 2,100 Yen, customers can enjoy grilled dishes and bar food, but crab legs remain excluded. Finally, the most expensive option at 5,600 Yen includes crab legs in addition to the other items.

The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of food options. The bright lights seen in the photos are due to the heavy smoke in the restaurant, creating a concert-like atmosphere. While I didn't see many Thai people, there were a lot of Japanese and Korean customers. Despite the spacious layout, the limited number of tables ensures comfortable movement even during peak hours.

They will provide you with an open plate. If you want to eat, you can order as much as you want. There is no limit. Just make sure you finish everything. The food is considered fresh.

This restaurant offers a unique dining experience with a small stove and large crab legs. While waiting for the crab to cook, you can choose from a variety of side dishes at the bar. The stove is not very hot, so you can also enjoy some snacks to fill your stomach.

How big is it? Let's see. I tried eating it without warming it up on the stove, and it was edible. They had already steamed it, but the crab wasn't very fresh, maybe because I came late in the evening. But the shell was very thin, so I could easily cut it with scissors.

It is recommended to order the large crab legs, as the small crab legs may not be worth it and are difficult to peel.

This is the pile of crab shells I ate by myself, and across from me is my friend's. We got our money's worth for 5,600 yen.

Image Description:

The image depicts a young woman sitting on a park bench, reading a book. She is wearing a casual outfit and has a relaxed expression on her face. The park is lush and green, with trees and flowers in bloom. The sun is shining brightly, casting a warm glow on the scene.

Additional Notes:

  • The image is a photograph, not a painting or illustration.
  • The woman is the only person visible in the image.
  • The image is likely taken during the daytime, based on the sunlight.
  • The image evokes a sense of peace and tranquility.

To conclude with a palate cleanser, it was actually better than before, wasn't it? Panna cotta, cheesecake, and chocolate. I alone devoured 3-4 cups of panna cotta.

The total cost for two people, including drinks, if you choose the refill option, is 6,426 yen, which is 1,927 baht per person!
