Lumsden: A Scenic Gateway to Milford Sound

Lumsden serves as a crucial stopover point for travelers journeying between Te Anau and Queenstown. This picturesque town lies along the scenic route leading to Milford Sound, a breathtaking natural wonder. During the winter months, the high-altitude areas surrounding Lumsden witness the formation of frost, adorning the blades of grass and tree branches with a delicate, crystalline coating. To witness this mesmerizing spectacle, it is recommended to visit early in the morning.
