Enjoy a short clip from The Buffalo Amphawa as a teaser.
The Buffalo Amphawa is a riverside resort located just 6 kilometers from the Amphawa Floating Market.
In addition to stylish accommodations, this location also boasts a waterfront zone with restaurants and cafes.
Let's take a look at the accommodation area first. This zone is a private zone for guests only.
After parking the car, a staff member picked us up in a buggy and took us to check in at the lobby.
A resort brimming with artistic creations, intricate bamboo weavings, and exquisite handicrafts.
This resort boasts a unique identity, setting it apart from its competitors.
The meticulous attention to detail is evident in the abundance of photogenic corners.
Ladies, visiting this place guarantees a plethora of content for your social media feeds.
The staff then took us to our room. The resort was surrounded by trees, creating a cool and shady atmosphere.
There are many places to sit and relax, and the view is delightful wherever you look.
This accommodation offers four types of rooms.
1. Standard
- Superior
3. Deluxe
4. Suites
The buildings are surrounded by a swimming pool in the center.
Our room today is the Suites, the highest room category here.
The building features exposed concrete in a loft style, with a unique design that incorporates subtle, well-placed details.
The first room you encounter upon entering is the living room. The decor maintains the original concept, featuring beautiful handcrafted woodwork.
Amenities include slippers, woven bags, a mini-bar, tea, and coffee.
A relaxing sofa with plenty of throw pillows... the ubiquitous symbol here is the "buffalo".
Living up to its name, The Buffalo Amphawa.
The high, airy ceiling creates a sense of spaciousness and avoids feeling cramped. The handmade woven lamps add a touch of detail.
A Marshall speaker that can be connected directly to our mobile phone.
Entering through a small door into the bedroom, the headboard side is decorated with a kite and a pufferfish.
This reflects the identity, lifestyle, and local wisdom of the people of Samut Songkhram.
At the foot of the bed, there is an LCD TV and a work desk.
Another highly favored corner in the Suites room is the working desk area, where guests can open the windows to embrace the natural surroundings.
This place is not only a great place to visit, but it's also a perfect spot to relax and get some work done. It truly offers a complete and satisfying experience.
This bedroom zone will feature a stylish wooden wardrobe, a robe, a safe, and an umbrella.
The bathroom is spacious and has a comfortable color scheme. It is well-divided into wet and dry zones. There are two sinks, so there is no need to compete for their use.
The amenities kit is fully equipped, so you don't need to bring anything. It's incredibly convenient!
Another impressive corner is the back balcony, which features a seating area for two surrounded by lush greenery.
It also features a vintage copper-colored bathtub for a luxurious and relaxing soak.
Breaking away from the ordinary hotel room, this one offers a complete recharge and rejuvenation experience...
Exiting the room's door leads to the swimming pool area.
The color may seem a bit unusual, as the design is inspired by the canals of Amphawa.
Guests can fully immerse themselves in the local atmosphere, with a variety of poolside beds available.
Guests who stayed on the day we visited were free to roll around as they pleased...
A family with children is having fun playing in the water, enjoying themselves immensely.
Abundant trees and seating areas create a wonderfully shaded and relaxing atmosphere.
Let's take a look at the areas that are accessible to the public.
This area is a restaurant and cafe zone. It is spacious, allowing children to run around and play with the buffaloes. They seem to be having a lot of fun.
Let's start with a review of The Buffalo Cafe. This zone is a riverside cafe.
Offering a variety of beverages and baked goods, with both indoor and outdoor seating options available.
Of course, we have to sit outside. If we come in the evening, the atmosphere will be very relaxing.
The Buffalo Cafe is open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The menu we ordered included a latte with a buffalo art design, which was incredibly adorable. All of the bakery items were delicious.
It is highly recommended to try... the coffee cups used are handmade clay cups, unique to this location.
The evening ambiance at The Buffalo Cafe.
In addition to enjoying delicious drinks and pastries, the venue also features The Buffalo House, home to two dwarf buffaloes, Kati and Kala, who are a popular attraction. Visitors can enjoy a complete experience at this location, as we mentioned, most guests are families with children. Children in the city rarely have the opportunity to experience a community atmosphere like this. We believe that a visit here can be an educational experience, offering a glimpse into a different way of life. The venue is conveniently located near Bangkok, making it easily accessible and time-saving.
The final section, The Buffalo Restaurant, is housed in a rose-shaped building. Rusty Rose, a waterfront restaurant, is open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It's a stunning and unique restaurant with an impressive design.
The interior is decorated with intricate bamboo work, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. The ambiance is truly remarkable. While taste is paramount, a beautiful setting and pleasant atmosphere undoubtedly enhance the dining experience. The aesthetics are truly captivating, making it a must-visit destination.
Today's first menu is the **Spicy Black Spaghetti with Seafood**, a flavorful dish featuring large river prawns that enhance its visual appeal.
**Deep-fried pork belly with fish sauce** is a simple dish that is easy to find. The highlight is the accompanying spicy dipping sauce. The combination of hot, crispy pork belly and the rich, spicy dipping sauce is so delicious that you'll forget all about the calories.
A trip to Mae Klong is not complete without trying the famous Pla Too Sauce Lamphu. This dish features crispy fried mackerel served with a special dipping sauce, a unique recipe of the region.
The river prawn fried rice with salt had a well-balanced flavor. It was served with large, succulent river prawns, making for a delightful culinary experience.
To conclude the meal, we had ข้าวแช่ ice cream, a coconut milk ice cream infused with the fragrant water used to soak ข้าวแช่. Sweetened with palm sugar and free from dairy, it was served with a selection of small side dishes, including fried shrimp paste balls, sweet preserved fish, and stir-fried sweet pickled radish, allowing us to customize our dessert to our liking.
This dinner was truly delightful, both in terms of the delicious food and the pleasant atmosphere.
For a romantic evening ambiance by the river, opt for outdoor seating. In addition to the restaurant zone, there's also a riverside bar for a relaxing experience.
The morning atmosphere is cool and comfortable. Sitting on the balcony behind the room, sipping tea or coffee, listening to soft music, is simply delightful!
Another great activity here is offering alms to monks. At 7 am, monks will come to collect alms in front of the house of Jao Kati and Kala. You can contact the staff to arrange this. You can enjoy your trip and make merit at the same time. It's truly a heartwarming experience.
For breakfast, we dined at Buffalo Phochana, an open-air restaurant with a refreshing breeze.
We opted for the outdoor garden area, which offered a relaxing atmosphere.
The food is a buffet line, featuring a wide variety of local Thai dishes, including:
- Nam Prik Kapi: A spicy chili paste made with shrimp paste, chilies, and other ingredients.
- Pla Too: Grilled mackerel, a popular Thai street food.
- Phuket Curry: A rich and flavorful curry with coconut milk, chilies, and spices.
- Khao Man Gai: Chicken rice, a classic Thai dish with poached chicken and fragrant rice.
- Khao Niao Moo Ping: Grilled pork skewers served with sticky rice.
- Tom Lued Moo: Pork blood soup, a hearty and flavorful dish.
- Khao Tom Pla: Rice porridge with large pieces of fish, a comforting and nutritious breakfast option.
The buffet is so generous that you'll be full until lunchtime.
This concludes our review of The Buffalo Amphawa. We hope this review has been helpful to you, especially if you are looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We believe that this resort offers a complete experience, with accommodations, restaurants, cafes, and various activities. The spacious grounds, with its grassy areas for running around, and the local community's artistic expressions displayed throughout the resort, provide a unique opportunity to experience the local way of life. We highly recommend a visit to The Buffalo Amphawa.
