Hellooooooooooo, back as promised. This time we're in Chapter 5 already (so fast, it's already the 5th trip). I've always thought about wanting to go to the sea alone, wondering how I would travel alone. So this time I chose to go to Koh Samui alone and discovered that I can be spicy alone in Koh Samui too... :P

There are many ways to travel to Koh Samui, including by bus, private car, or plane. Koh Samui has two airlines that fly directly to Samui Airport: Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways. Finding cheap flights to Koh Samui is not difficult. This time, I tried using the JetRadar application to find the cheapest flights. .. We arrived at our starting point. This time, Fah chose to fly with Bangkok Airways, which meant we had to go to Suvarnabhumi Airport. We rushed to the Airport Rail Link at 6:30 am and arrived at Suvarnabhumi at 7:00 am. After checking in our luggage, we actually didn't have anything urgent to do, we just wanted to sit in the Bangkok Airways lounge. It was worth it! We arrived at 10:00 am and sat there for almost 3 hours, haha.

After relaxing and enjoying snacks in the lounge, it was time to board the flight. I had flown with Bangkok Airways once before when I went to China. At that time, I was a student and I really liked the airline. This time was no different, I still love Bangkok Airways. And this time, I was one of the few Thai people on the flight. Everywhere I looked, I saw foreigners.

Today I had sticky rice, steamed egg, and fermented chicken sausage. Next to me was a Korean couple on their honeymoon. They were very surprised by what was served, and I didn't know how to explain what fermented chicken sausage was to them. Haha. So I told them it was like a chicken ball, but like a fish ball. >< The next thing I liked was the orange juice. PG's orange juice is so delicious. It's so delicious that I forgot myself and drank a lot of it. Haha.

And then I arrived in Koh Samui. Oh my, there's so much fog! I'm a little worried. Will it rain? But I'm praying for some sunshine for a day or two so I can take some pictures. : )

Upon arrival at Samui Airport, the airport is an open-air one, which is quite stylish. Upon exiting, there will be various hired cars waiting to pick up customers, as well as car rental companies.

** Trick & Tip - If you have a credit card, it is recommended to rent a car from the airport. The price is not too expensive, and it is more worthwhile than renting a motorbike to ride around the island. If you are not familiar with the route, you may have an accident. If you do not rent a car from the airport, there are buses and taxis available. The bus is actually a van. If you want to go somewhere, just tell the counter. There will be a price list. The starting price is about 100 baht per person. I took a bus to Mimosa Resort and Spa in Ban Tai. They charged me 150 baht. **

At Mimosa Resort, it was also the filming location for the MV of the girls from SNSD. If you are a fan and want to follow in their footsteps, you can come here. While waiting to check in, Fah walked around the beach and went to lie down on a hammock by the beach. The atmosphere is very good.

This time, I'll show you more pictures than words, haha. Actually, there wasn't much to do on the first day, I mostly stayed at the resort. The next day, the resort suggested I try riding a motorbike around the island. After some initial hesitation, I decided to give it a go. Otherwise, I wouldn't have anything to write about, haha. So I rented a motorbike from the resort for 250 baht. The roads in Koh Samui are good and not scary, but if I were to give advice, I'd say don't ride yourself. Haha, some parts of the road are on hills. But the atmosphere would be 100% perfect if you had a boyfriend to take you around on a motorbike, haha.

The starting point is at Ban Tai Beach. I turned right around the island following the red line which is the main road. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't drive into Chaweng. I really wanted to see the atmosphere there, but since I came alone, I'll postpone it to next time.

The first thing Fah encountered after leaving Mae Nam Beach was The Wharf, a beachfront community mall in Koh Samui. It is located in the Bo Phut area and also has a walking street at night. This area is connected to The Fisherman Village, where tourists can enjoy dinner and live music by the sea at night. Inside The Wharf, there are restaurants, clothing stores, and souvenir shops for tourists.

The viewpoint that I visited is called Lad Koh Viewpoint. It's a very beautiful viewpoint where you can see the Gulf of Thailand and other islands. However, on the day I went, it was foggy, so I couldn't see anything. But it was still beautiful. And you can also walk down to the rocks by the sea.

I came alone, so I set up the camera, set the timer, and ran into the frame. I was so embarrassed by the tourists around me, lol. I rode my motorbike to many places, including Hin Ta Hin Yai, and I got lost in many places, haha. It was fun. On the way, I found a place selling coconut water for 30 baht each. It was so fragrant!

And then, out of the blue, I stumbled upon Lipa Noi Beach, which I discovered to be absolutely magical. The beach was pristine, the sand fine, and the atmosphere peaceful and serene. There were only a few small resorts, and the overall vibe was just perfect.

If I come back next time, I will stay at Lipa Noi for 3 nights. It is my dream beach. I love it so much. After leaving Lipa Noi, I saw a sign saying that there was a waterfall not far from Lipa Noi, so I tried riding my motorbike there. I found Hin Lad Waterfall. At Hin Lad Waterfall, I didn't see many foreign tourists. I only saw local Thai people having picnics, children feeding fish, and playing in the water. There is also a temple inside.

Looking at the clock, it was already past 4 pm. I should head back to my accommodation because it would be difficult to ride a motorbike if it got dark. So I left Hin Lad Waterfall and then encountered road construction, forcing me to turn into Na Thon. There wasn't much in Na Thon, just a local community, a district office, and a pier. However, the road along the sea was very beautiful. Oh, and near the pier in Na Thon, there is a night market with food stalls selling a variety of delicious-looking dishes. But when I arrived, they were just setting up their stalls, so I didn't wait to look around. What a shame! ><

Besides, at night in Koh Samui, there are many other tourist attractions, not just in Chaweng. But the day I went was Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so I didn't make it to the walking street, which is one of the important places in Koh Samui.

The Fisherman Village

Located on Bo Phut Beach, it is open every day. Most of the restaurants are aimed at foreigners. On weekdays when there is no walking street, it is just a normal restaurant. There are many restaurants here. It is next to The Wharf. If you are staying at Peace Resort, you can walk from the resort along the beach and you will find The Fisherman Village. Central Festival Walking Street Market

Every Wednesday, there is a market in front of Central Festival. It mainly sells snacks and small items. You may not find a lot of things, but it's enough to satisfy your cravings. Haha!

On the last night in Koh Samui, I stayed at Peach Resort Samui. The atmosphere was very good, and it was not far from Samui Airport. It took about 20 minutes by car from the airport. The location was not crowded, but it was easy to get in and out of the resort because the entrance was right next to the main road. If you don't have a car to go to Koh Samui, Peace Resort is a good choice for transportation because you can walk out and hail a songthaew, or you can cross the street and there is a convenience store opposite the hotel.

For Peach Resort, Fah loves it very much because it is perfect for people without a car like Fah. Food is very easy to find. Just walk through the beach behind the hotel and you will reach the Street Market. Plus, there are many minimarts and restaurants to choose from in front.

Trick and Tip

- Prices in Koh Samui: While some things are expensive, especially at restaurants catering to tourists, everyday food prices are similar to the mainland. There are also plenty of convenience stores like Lotus, Big C, and Makro, making it feel like a "country within a country."

- Transportation Costs: Transportation is expensive in Koh Samui. A short 8km ride from Central Festival to Bophut on a songthaew (shared taxi) costs 200 baht, as fuel prices on the island are 3 baht higher than on the mainland.

- Solo Travel: Koh Samui is a great destination for solo travelers.

- Best Time to Visit: Koh Samui can be visited year-round, although October can see frequent monsoons and less sunshine. However, it's still possible to enjoy your trip even during this time (as long as you don't encounter rain).

- Low Season: October is the low season in Koh Samui. If you're lucky enough to avoid the rain, you'll enjoy fewer crowds and less competition for restaurants and attractions compared to peak tourist season.
