Episode 2: KYOTO..Visit the temple, shop, chill

There will be a total of 3 episodes, 4 cities | This thread is episode 2.

Episode 1: Sleeping at the airport, shopping, playing with deer | http://pantip.com/topic/33634452

Episode 2: KYOTO..Visit the temple, shop, chill | http://pantip.com/topic/33652030

Let me clarify again.

The price in the topic includes airfare, hotel, meals, and all transportation costs paid for, every penny.

But! Not including snacks outside of meals, about a thousand or so, not including shopping, which was quite painful.

I stayed at the airport hotel for 2 nights because my flight arrived late and departed early. I was worried about not making it on time, so I decided to stay at the hotel. If you are planning to book a hotel, it will only cost an additional 1,000 baht per night. If you arrive early or don't have an early departure, you can also stay at the hotel.

Day 4 KYOTO

Woke up late, life changed, no time to shower, the gang is waiting, hurry to CHECK-OUT from the hotel, stop by to buy rice balls and snacks to eat on the go.

We will leave our luggage at OKI'S INN first and then continue our trip.

Travel

Today, I'm still using my KTP card. As for the map, I've switched to looking at the Kyoto lines.

This card can be used on both the subway (excluding JR) and buses with the same witch picture as on the card.

Take the subway from DOBUTSUEN-MAE Station (K19) to KITAHAMA Station (K14) and transfer to the KEIHAN MAIN LINE LTD. EXP. train to SANJO Station. From SANJO Station, you can walk to your accommodation in about 10 minutes. If you don't want to walk, you can walk through to the Kyoto subway station. There are signs, so it's not difficult to find.

Get off at SANJOKEIHAN Station and take the train to HIGASHIYAMA Station. Exit 2 and turn left into the first small alley. Walk a little bit and you will arrive.

After TAKA & YUKA gave us a helpful map and explained the directions in an easy-to-understand way, it was time to hit the road. It was already getting late, so we didn't want to waste any more time.

First stop, TOFUKUJI Temple

Admission fee 400YEN Open 9:00-16:30 hrs.

Travel

From HIGASHIYAMA Station (T10), walk through to the KEIHAN MAIN/NAKANOSHIMA LINE LOCAL train at SANJOKEIHAN Station (T11). From SANJO Station, take the train to TOFUKUJI Station. To see which side to board, look for the direction that does not go to DEMACHIYANAGI. At TOFUKUJI Station, take the EAST exit and walk to the right. Continue straight for about 15 minutes and you will arrive.

Take a break and take some photos along the way to refresh yourself.

Found beautiful flowers too

If you don't stop taking pictures, it might be faster.

The fan was forced to be a model.

I'm here.

With the pole, they will take it.

The door is not spared.

Thank you for following.

The path is made of wood.

There are a lot of maple trees. This temple has about 2,000 trees (information from the INTERNET).

If you come during the fall foliage season, it would be beautiful. Seeing all these red colors everywhere like this.

This is what you will see when you enter.

Other angles

Just a little bit before leaving the temple.

Next will be the FUSHIMIINARI Shrine.

Free admission, open 24 hours. In the morning there are fewer people.

The station is only 2 stations away from TOFUKUJI Station, but should we walk back? After thinking about it, we decided to continue walking. We walked for another 20 minutes, relaxing and not tired...or were we? (I could hear my boyfriend's voice, but I ignored it.)

or

Another option is to walk a little further and take the train at TOBAKAIDO station. It's only one stop to FUSHIMIINARI station, but you have to wait for the train. This is the reason why we want to walk.

I'm at the temple now, and it's packed! Even if I try to take a solo photo, someone always ends up photobombing me.

We've come a long way, we're tired, it's hot, and we're hungry... Don't talk too much, let's just eat.

The shop is the first one on the right.

Each person got one. Eating too much of it is greasy, one is just right. This one is delicious for 120 YEN.

Both sides of the road are full of food. Oh my, I'm off topic. Let's go see the red poles first.

The lone red pole stood out beautifully against the sky.

Group photo, please!

Couple photo is here.

Red contrasts beautifully with the sky.

Wash your hands first.

Before the red pole

The red pole that I had to come and take a picture of, there were a lot of people.

I took a picture with the red pole. That's the end of my mission at the temple. Let's go back. But when I think about the walk back, I think I'll stop for a bite to eat.

It's hot like this, it must be delicious like this.

I think it was 350 YEN. The other kid bought it.

A little hungry, but I'm playing with fried food.

Delicious, must tell others. Even if the seller is not there, you have to wait.

Should I stop here? When the dessert and savory dishes arrive, I'm thirsty. This shop is located on the right side as you walk down. It's a chill place where you can smoke inside.

The price is not too high, green tea is cheaper than coke. Green tea comes in two types: with and without milk. Without milk, it costs 360 YEN. I don't remember the price with milk, but it's a bit more expensive.

According to the plan, we were supposed to have lunch at NISHIKI MARKET at noon, but it's past noon now. Let's go, everyone.

Closed every Wednesday and Sunday. Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Travel

We walked to the TOBAKAIDO station because when we passed by, we felt that it was not far. If you want to take the same station as us, turn right after leaving the shrine. When you see the railway, turn left and go in. It's just a short walk. Take the train to GION-SHIJO station and go to the line that goes to DEMACHIYANAGI. Then walk to KAWARAMACHI station.

Passing through PONTOCHO, a place I intended to visit in the evening because it is very beautiful. There are restaurants by the river, and on the grass, young Japanese couples will be sitting and flirting with each other.

Oh, let's leave it for tonight, tonight.

From KAWARAMACHI Station, you can turn right onto SHINKYOGOKU Street. After a short walk, you will find the market. However, we could not see the entrance to the street, so we went into another alley that also led to the market.

We were able to buy a KYOTO CITY BUS ticket for tomorrow for 500 YEN without having to waste time buying it at Kyoto Station. We bought it at this store. Don't forget to ask for a bus route map.

Many people must be confused. Here's a map to help you out. I got it from the internet.

There are a lot of people.

There are many food options, but they seem to be mostly for takeaway.

Stop by this restaurant for some delicious food. It gets crowded, so be prepared to wait. There is an ENGLISH MENU available.

The food has arrived. This dish is 1,080 YEN and is called Noodle Spicy Curry. It's delicious! I almost finished the soup.

This also belongs to someone else.

After eating, take a walk for a while.

Due to waking up late, taking photos for a long time, and eating for a long time, I decided to cut NIJO CASTLE out of the plan because I wanted to eat cake more. Sorry.

We're going to have cake at the LIPTON branch on TERAMACHI Street. You're asking if it's better than the other branches? No, not at all. I just want to go for a walk and it's there. I'm confused myself.

Travel

Walk through the market and exit next to the DAIMARU department store. Turn right onto the main road and take the subway at KARASUMA Station. Walk downstairs to SHIJO Station. From SHIJO Station, take the train to KYOTOSHIYAKUSHOMAE Station and exit at EXIT 11 (I'm not sure about this, I forgot to write it down, sorry. Please check the signs when you arrive at the station, it's not difficult to find). However, you need to TRANSFER at KARASUMAOIKE Station and take the line going to ROKUJIZO (go to KARASUMAOIKE Station via the KOKUSAIKAIKAN line).

Come up from here

Emerge here

Used bookstore

A small but very nice studio

Walk straight ahead, there will be a fork in the road, take the left fork.

Don't go this way.

I ate cake at LIPTON. I didn't take a picture of the storefront, but it's similar to other branches. It's a big shop with a lot of people and very tempting cakes. If you don't eat, you can't sit. I think it's a bit harsh, but it's delicious, so I forgive them. We each had a piece for 620 YEN + 400 YEN for tea.

After finishing the cake, I continued shopping for a while. There were so many cute shops that I forgot to grab my camera while choosing items.

After walking all day for several days, the gang started to get tired. Let's go back to the accommodation and rest. Let's sit and rest and regain our strength first. Tonight, after a full rest, we will go out to eat. I'm really hungry for this meal. Let's have a Japanese meat buffet recommended by the locals. TAKA, the owner of the accommodation, recommended this restaurant. It's the best!

Restaurant name: GION GYUZEN

Location: Opposite YASAKA Shrine, turn left. If you are facing the shrine, you will see a large building. That's it.

Go straight ahead and take the lift to the 4th floor.

There are 3 shops, don't go to the wrong one.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, you will be presented with a menu to choose from. Select your desired cut of meat, with prices ranging from 1,980 YEN to tens of thousands. We opted for the second-highest option, which cost 4,300 YEN per person. The English menu lists it as "JAPANESE BEEF." The all-you-can-eat meat and vegetable feast lasts for 2 hours. If you wish to order more, simply press the bell to summon a staff member.

Enjoy it.

We chose 2 broths: shabu and sukiyaki. Sukiyaki broth is the ultimate in deliciousness.

Sukiyaki soup is a best seller.

After a satisfying meal, we continued our walk to the GION district. From the restaurant, we walked back towards the shrine and turned right at the major intersection. We walked for a while, and when we reached the next intersection, we crossed the street and continued walking. However, we arrived late, so it was a bit quiet and dark.

On the way back, I stopped by the YASAKA Shrine to take a souvenir photo. It was a bit spooky at night, but there were people coming and going all the time.

They couldn't stop arguing about tomorrow's plan.

And then walked back to the accommodation with a full stomach and drooping eyelids.

The sweetest NOTE from TAKA&YUKA upon my arrival at the accommodation.

Accommodation | OKI'S INN

The Japanese-style bedroom is not small, it is very clean. There are only a few rooms, two floors. There is only one bathroom, but it is always empty, probably because there are few rooms. There is a changing room, a dressing table, a hair dryer for women, a hair dryer, towels, soap and shampoo. There is a living room.

Kitchen Free coffee

Bicycles are available for rent.

I really like how close it is to the subway and bus stop. It's just a short walk away. More importantly, the couple was very friendly and helpful. They explained the way to me until they were sure I understood. Thank you very much.

Day 5 KYOTO - NIGHT BUS TO TOKYO

Woke up feeling sore, again. Today's plan is to visit temples, which is quite packed. Anyway, we're not really into temples, so we'll just see what we can see.

Today we will use this card KYOTO CITY BUS for 495 YEN from the normal price of 500 YEN. We got a small discount, so we'll show it off, right?

Ready to go!

I walked out of the back alley of the hotel to admire the beauty of the stream I had walked past the night before. I saw a young couple flirting with each other... It's not related, but I could have just walked out of the front alley. The bus stop is much closer.

Force your girlfriend to take pictures

Another picture then.

But this picture, he asked for it.

We finally arrived at the bus stop after spending almost half an hour taking photos.

The first temple is Wat Thong, or KINKAKUJI TEMPLE.

Admission fee 400 YEN Open 9.00-17.00 hrs.

Travel

Get off at the same pier as your accommodation. Take bus number 12 and get off in front of the temple. Don't worry about getting off at the wrong stop. There will be a sign saying "Next station is…" Another thing is that almost everyone gets off at this stop.

There is a button to press at every point.

The atmosphere inside the car.

The temple is quite crowded.

Let's send a representative to buy tickets.

In the temple area

While waiting for people to walk in, I looked for angles to shoot.

And this is what they say is beautiful. In reality, it's even more beautiful than in the pictures, I must say.

It's really crowded.

Another angle that I think is beautiful, hehe.

Zoom in

Themed couple photos

Make a wish

Light a candle, choose one with a good meaning to light. Ask if it translates well.

This part is very popular among Thai people. You can tell from the back that there are many Thai languages.

Making merit by putting money in a donation box

Done, let's go back. There are many more temples left.

The next temple is Ginkakuji Temple, also known as the Silver Pavilion.

Admission fee 500 YEN Open from 8.30-17.00 hrs.

Travel

From the temple gate, walk to the main road you passed on the way here, and turn left slightly. You will see a bus stop. Take bus number 204 and get off at the GINKAKUJI stop, which is at the mouth of the temple lane. Then walk back and enter the temple lane. It's not far, you can walk.

Walk in.

And this is the garden that they say was designed by a famous artist.

A couple is about to throw a coin into a small waterfall, but they secretly see that they are making a wish. Maybe they are asking for a child, but that's just my guess.

The view from the viewpoint overlooks the city of Kyoto.

This point that needs to be photographed.

Mission accomplished at the 2nd temple. While waiting for the team, I took some photos in my favorite style: STREET.

From the path leading up to the temple, there is a small alley called THE PHILOSOPHER'S PATH, or as Thais call it, the Philosopher's Road. It is said that this road is full of cute cafes. After doing some research, we decided to settle on POMME CAFÉ.

It's a small, cute shop owned by an uncle and aunt.

BG is so cute and adorable.

Selling cakes and various teas and coffees

This is 750 YEN for the shop's special tofu and cake.

After having some snacks, let's have some rice to stimulate our appetite. The restaurant is located on the way from the road to the temple. Feel free to try any restaurant you like. We tried this one because it seemed popular with Japanese people, but we forgot to take a picture of the storefront.

The food was delicious and I didn't forget to order it. Here it is: Beef curry rice for 800 YEN and grilled saba fish with soy sauce set for 880 YEN. I must say that the portions were huge, I was very full and everything was delicious. I ate everything.

The other two siblings tried the nearby shop because it was cute, and the prices were similar.

This is the front of the store.

This is food.

This restaurant is located before the temple. There were a lot of people in line, so I didn't get to eat there. Anyone who has tried it, please let me know how it is.

(I apologize for cutting out the Heian Shrine, but I was afraid of running out of time.)

Admission fee 300 YEN Open from 6.00-18.00 hrs.

Journey

The way up and down is very crowded.

The road leading up was quite a distance, and with legs weary from walking all day for several days, we finally reached this point.

and took a picture. The end. Because everyone was tired and wanted to sit down.

There are so many cute shops along the way up that if you stop by every one of them, you'll definitely end up broke.

Look so cute and fluffy.

What follows will be something very exciting, thrilling, and goosebump-inducing. Read the instructions carefully.

Tonight we have to take the NIGHT BUS to Tokyo. We already CHECKED-OUT. Where can we take a shower? Last night, we walked into an alley near our accommodation and found a bathhouse. We thought we should try it.

Okay, let's gather our courage. Actually, I'm not embarrassed by the people there, but by the people I went with. It took them a while to agree to go.

This is a picture during the day.

Upon arrival, take off your shoes and store them in the locker. Then, pay the bath fee to the lady sitting at the counter.

Admission fee is 430 YEN per person.

The small towel is very small, I repeat, very small. It can barely cover anything. It costs 30 YEN each. The large towel costs 100 YEN each, which also cannot be brought inside. But for peace of mind when changing clothes, it's better to cover up a little.

Shampoo and soap cost an additional 200 YEN for 3 women. If you have your own, you can bring it in.

Done, clean, you can continue.

Bathing methods

1. Separate rooms for men and women

3. Keep your valuables in the LOCKER and keep the key on your wrist.

4. Leave the big towel in the basket. You can't bring it in. You can only bring in one small towel.

5. We went in and found a suitable spot to sit and take a hot shower, wash our hair, and scrub ourselves clean. But because of our clumsiness, we became the center of attention of the aunties. One of them even came up to us and showed us how to wash our lower body with that tiny towel. Um, auntie, thank you, but I'm so embarrassed!

6. After cleaning, I soaked in hot water. Let me tell you, it was amazing. My blood was pumping, I felt comfortable, and all my fatigue was gone. I forgot to mention, don't dip the small cloth in the water. It's not appropriate because I used it to bathe earlier. I put it on my head.

7. Sit back and relax. If you want to continue with the sauna, you can. But we, being shy, didn't want to walk around showing off our sexy, hot bodies too often. So we soaked until the crowd thinned out, then quickly ran out to get dressed.

That was an unforgettable experience. But if you ask me if I would do it again, I would say without hesitation... of course! Once you try it, you'll forget about being shy.

From Wat Na Phra Men, walk down to the bus stop, cross the road to the opposite side, take bus number 206 and get off at GION. Get off when the bus crosses the traffic light intersection at YAKASA Shrine. Then walk past the meat shop where you ate last night and go another 2 alleys. Walk straight in, the bathhouse is on the right.

After that, I walked back to my accommodation, which was not far away, to change clothes and charge my battery. Then, I set off to wait for the NIGHT BUS at Kyoto Station.

Travel

Take the Tozai Line subway from Higashiyama Station, which is located at the entrance of your accommodation, to Kyoto Station. You will need to transfer at Karasumaoike Station on the Karasuma Line. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes and costs 260 yen.

We need to get on the bus at the front of the IBIS Hotel, so we need to take the HACHIJO exit. For those who need to get on the bus at other stops, please check the details of the NIGHT BUS you booked.

We arrived quite early, so we had something to eat at our leisure. We ended up having eel on rice, which cost 1,980 YEN.

After eating, we took a walk until it was almost time to go to the bus stop. The buses here are very punctual. We checked our names according to the email they sent us when we booked, and then walked onto the bus. I forgot to take a picture when I got on, so I took it from the website where I booked it. It's exactly as shown in the picture. I slept very comfortably. It was very private. I didn't wake up until we arrived in Tokyo.

We stopped by the bathroom three times, but I didn't go in. My boyfriend said the bathroom was very nice, like Paragon, but he didn't take any pictures.

You can see other types of buses and other routes on the website. It has English. http://willerexpress.com/en/

The second episode is over. See you in Tokyo for the third episode. I'll hurry up and churn it out.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback.
