Auspicious time, good time, ready to release the goods (just the title of the post is unbearable)
This thread is a review of a spontaneous 3-city, 4-day, 3-night trip to Vietnam.
Let me tell you, this trip was amazing! We ate well, had snacks every day, drank beer with almost every meal, and finished it off with a big, juicy lobster. But the best part is that it didn't cost much at all. We only spent around 9,XXX baht each, which is less than 10,000 baht.
How was the experience? Well, it was because we didn't have much time to plan or prepare in advance, so we had to adjust our plans all the time. But that's what made it fun. We went at the end of the year, so I'll go day by day.
Day 1: HO CHI MIHN
Day 2: DALAT
Day 3: MUI NE'
Day 4: HO CHI MIHN
>> You can scold me, but not too harshly. But if you're going to praise me, please do it in two lines. <<
Let's start with the preparation, which wasn't much, as it was a very sudden trip. We booked our tickets on Monday and traveled on Friday. We only knew we wanted to take pictures in the desert, like in the movie "The Three of Us." So, the four, five, six, seven, and eight of us started at
1. Choose your route | Which cities will you visit?
Our ROUTE will be as follows: HO CHI MIHN – DALAT - MUI NE' - HO CHI MIHN
2. Flight tickets | We didn't have much time to book in advance like other trips, so the tickets weren't that cheap. We used AirAsia, our usual airline, for a round-trip flight for 2,527 baht (excluding baggage fees. We used one bag for two people and bought 20 kg, which was more than enough).
Use the APPLICATION: SKYSCANNER to find cheap flights.
3. Book a hotel | Book through WWW.BOOKING.COM No need to pay in advance. You can pay at the hotel when you CHECK-IN. You can CANCEL if you find a better deal.
First night: Sleep on the NIGHT BUS
Yes, this is a sleeper bus. You can stretch your legs out. I've never seen one like this before. If you're taller than 180 cm, it might be a bit uncomfortable. You'll have to bend your knees a little. But if you're short like me, you can sleep comfortably without any worries.
Second night: VILLATHOL HOTEL 1 night 270,000 VND per person 135,000 VND
Night 3: NHAT QUANG GUEST HOUSE 1 532,000 VND per person 266,000 VND
4. Plan | Where would you like to go each day? Are there any places you particularly want to visit?
This is a rough schedule before we go, but when we get there, we'll adjust it. Because some places are like, "No, let's not go." And some places are like, "Let's go." Even the city names are spelled wrong. I told you it was a Vietnam trip at your own pace.
5. Find travel information | According to the plan, take a bus, rent a car or walk.
6. Deep dive | Regarding the onward journey, we already know how to get there. We know how to get from one place to another, so we don't have to waste time figuring it out. But here, on this trip, we relied on GOOGLE MAP for almost the entire trip. 555 It was okay, we didn't get lost.
7. SIM CARD | We bought it at the airport, 100,000 dong each. The internet is strong and doesn't drop. Or if you're not addicted to social media and don't want to buy one, most hotels and cafes offer free internet access.
8. Travel insurance | We bought it online from HTTP://WWW.CIGNA.CO.TH/OUR-PLANS/TRAVEL-INSURANCE/TRAVEL | Some people might think it's not necessary, but for us, it's better to be safe than sorry. Only 161 baht for 4 days.
9. PASSPORT | CHECK Please check the expiration date. It must be valid for at least 6 months before your travel date.
10. Pack your bags | Don't forget to make a CHECK LIST to avoid forgetting. This LIST is yours, not mine.

Walking and eating pho, walking and drinking coffee.
Day 1 BKK - TÂN SƠN NHẤT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
We left Bangkok in the morning and arrived in Ho Chi Minh City around nine o'clock.
We're here!
Still bright, but fate unknown.
Full team
Go pick up your luggage
I took care of buying a SIM card. From what I've researched, they said to buy it at the last counter on the far left, so I did.
We exchanged money with CITIBANK. The rate was good, the staff was friendly, and they even gave us a little extra.
Let's go into town. I'm hungry. There are eight of us in total. If we take a taxi, we'll have to split up, and we might get lost. How will we find each other? Let's take the bus instead. Lol.
Taking the bus is much cheaper, it's 5,000 dong per person for those without luggage, and 10,000 dong per person for those with luggage.
Exit the airport and walk to the right. Look for bus number 152.
There are a lot of people.
This way please.
Found it.
On the way, I sat down and looked for information on where to go. Oh, wow.
Everywhere you look, you see motorcycles.
Take a ride to BEN THANH MARKET, which is pronounced "Ben Than".
Upon arrival, I immediately took out my phone to search for directions to VIETSEA TOURIST, a tour company, to purchase tickets to DALAT.
Just then, my phone was snatched from my hand. Being as quick as lightning (well, my mouth at least), I immediately shouted at the top of my lungs, "WHAT?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? NO NO NOOOOO!!!!" My voice was loud and clear, and I glared at the unlucky Vietnamese guy. He was shocked, quickly let go of the phone, and ran away. Are you ashamed? You dare to do something bad and then feel ashamed? I have to thank my friend Ann for warning me beforehand to be careful with my phone. They can easily snatch it from your hand, so everyone needs to be careful.
From the bus stop at the roundabout, I dragged my suitcase for a while, following Google Maps. Could you help me?
There are also public restrooms.
There are fruit shops all along the way, but I haven't tried any yet.
To VIETSEA TOURIST, buy tickets for 270,000 dong per person, including free luggage storage, free water, and free bathroom access. Complete
With the map in hand and the car departure time set, we set off in search of pho. We found a restaurant near VIETSEA TOURIST, walking left and entering the first alley. It was a simple restaurant with both rice and pho on the menu. We were very hungry, so we decided to eat there. We didn't have the energy to look for a famous restaurant. This meal cost 37,000 dong, including a Coke.
As mentioned at the beginning, this was an impromptu trip to Vietnam. We didn't have any historical travel information, so we just looked for delicious coffee shops. So we had to sit down and have coffee to brainstorm where we should go today.
We used GOOGLE MAP to find ID CAFÉ', which we had read reviews of in both Thai and English. The cafe was very good and not difficult to find, not far from BEN THANH MARKET.
The whole way was so photogenic.
The shop is on the second floor. The atmosphere is good. The coffee is delicious. The yogurt is very delicious. The price is not expensive.
A cup of coffee costs 50,000 dong. I didn't have time to take a picture, so I took a picture of the coaster instead.
60,000 dong soda water
65,000 dong yogurt
75,000 dong for beers, starting at noon? That's quite a bit. We only had 2 or 3 glasses, it was rushed.
Clear outside corner
Sitting around charging our phones, taking turns until they're full. Let's go on a historical tour, gang!
The first stop of the day was the HO CHI MIHN MUSEUM. I didn't plan on going, but I happened to walk past it and decided to check it out.
The museum is on the right-hand side after turning left from ID CAFÉ and going straight.
The second place is the POST OFFICE.
The translation is:
It's so grand and magnificent. The photos turned out beautifully. They sell postcards and other souvenirs that are very cute.
Directions: Walk straight from HO CHI MIHN MUSEUM until you reach a large intersection. Turn left and continue straight. The destination will be on your right-hand side. For the easiest route, use GOOGLE MAP. You're guaranteed not to get lost.
Inside some
"Uncle, my boyfriend is just sleepy, don't look at him like that."
Even when you come out, you still take pictures.
The third place is SAIGON NOTRE-DAME BASILICA
I'm not sure if I can get in. I took pictures of the front and side.
Some side walls
Couple photos are a must.
Crossing the street, that's all. It's right across from the POST OFFICE.
From SAIGON NOTRE-DAME BASILICA, walk straight towards the park and turn left. Continue straight ahead and you will reach your next destination.
The atmosphere of the park is relaxed, with young people sitting and relaxing in groups.
We'll do the same.
I thought I was on Nami Island.
The trash can is also cute.
Stop by for a drink. Most of the water here costs 10,000 dong per bottle. Buy in front of the WAR MUSEUM.
The last stop of the day is the WAR MUSEUM, with an entrance fee of 15,000 dong per person.
Large tank
We didn't take any pictures inside, I'm not sure if it's forbidden or not.
Before entering, she was still smiling.
It's really depressing to watch. War brings so much loss to everyone involved. I can't help but tear up as I watch.
I didn't stay inside for long, so I came down to have a drink while waiting for my friend at the HIGHLAND shop, which is located inside the WAR MUSEUM. I had a glass of blended lemon juice for 39,000 dong.
Leaving the WAR MUSEUM just in time for dinner, we stopped by a restaurant we found called BAHN XEO MUOI XIAM.
It's authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered a lot and it only cost 103,000 VND per person. Very cheap!
Vegetables
After finishing our meal, we had several hours to kill before our bus was scheduled to depart. We decided to head to a nearby area called VIETSEA TOURIST to grab a few beers.
On the way, we stopped by Family Tart to see if it was anything like the others. Nong Kae couldn't resist trying it out.
It was Halloween when we went, and the streets were packed with people. Parents brought their young children out to celebrate the festival, and the streets were full of people. We arrived early and were able to sit on the side of the road, which put us right in the middle of the crowd. It was an amazing atmosphere.
Here, motorbike travel is the most popular, but strangely enough, I haven't seen a single accident from morning till night. I guess it's because everyone drives in their own lane, no cutting left or right. Whoever wants to overtake honks their horn, so it's a country where the horn function is really used correctly. That's why the horns are always blaring. It's still ringing in my ears... Okay, that's an exaggeration. Haha.
After finishing the beer, I was still hungry. Before getting on the bus, I had another bowl of pho at a nearby alley. It was delicious. I really like the pho here.
Pho 47,000 dong, lime juice 20,000 dong
Let me tell you about...
The time to board the bus was approaching, and everyone went their separate ways to finish their own errands. One of the younger members of the group volunteered to buy us some water, but he couldn't get back because he was stuck in the crowd. As I mentioned, it was Halloween, and the crowd was huge. He went to buy water from a shop in the alley where we had dinner, but on his way back, he couldn't get out. He was stuck in the crowd and the traffic. We waited and waited, and the staff of VIETSEA started to get impatient. They asked us "WHERE IS YOUR FRIEND?" more than five times. We told them to relax, as it wasn't even the appointed time yet. The staff told us that if the bus was late, they wouldn't wait, because there were a lot of people today and we would have to take a taxi to the boarding point. We couldn't do anything about it. In the end, we saw him jumping over motorcycles one by one to get out, and he made it just in time.
We took a taxi arranged by the company to the pick-up point. It turned out that there was no traffic jam as expected. We waited for a long time to get on the bus. Well, it's better to be on time than to be late, right?
The bus has arrived, everyone is stunned. Is the bus like this? Will we be lying down all the way? Can we sleep while sitting? The answer is no. The bus is designed to be like that. It has two floors, shoe storage compartments, blankets, water and cold towels are provided.
The bed is perfect for people who are not taller than 180 CM. If you are taller than that, you will have to bend your knees a bit. I am 150 CM, so it's perfect for me.
It was okay, a little cold, but I was able to sleep. I woke up once to use the bathroom. When I went to the bathroom, the bus had prepared slippers for us, so we didn't have to put on our shoes. The service was really impressive. I had some coffee and then went to ride the roller coaster.
Day 2 DALAT
Arrive at VILLATHOL HOTEL at 5 am.
I can't check in yet, I have to wait until the afternoon. But I can leave my luggage. The dry cleaning is done as usual, according to the condition.
Upon arrival, immediately book a bus to MUI NE' for tomorrow. The fare is 130,000 VND per person.
We provide accommodation and motorbike rentals.
120,000 dong for two people, 60,000 dong per person.
Ready.
Dressed to the nines, like riding a big bike.
Two liters of gasoline will be enough. 20,000 dong in total, 10,000 dong each.
Car ready, fuel ready, let's go!
Hold on, let's grab some pho real quick.
This restaurant is amazing! It's very popular and located in the alley next to Dalat Cathedral.
Turn right into the alley, the shop is on the right hand side.
A bowl of 25,000 dong will fill you up.
I'm sorry, I can't translate that. It's sexually suggestive and I'm not comfortable with that.
Following the life of a chef
Two young men confirm the deliciousness
Our first destination today is DATANLA WATERFALL, but the team is sleepy, so we'll stop for coffee on the mountainside first. At this point, we're starting to wonder if we're on a food tour or what. We're always stopping to eat. From now on, we'll just do a review of what we eat.
On the way to find a coffee shop, I stopped to take a picture.
We drank coffee at this shop.
The view is really good.
The coffee taste is... well, let's just say it's not familiar to my taste buds.
Cocoa... I'm not familiar with it either, haha.
Bikers all, what about us?
I thought we'd just sit for a bit, but it's already late! Come on, where's the waterfall? Where's the roller coaster? What are we doing here?
Oh, take a picture.
The shop is located on the same road as the waterfall. It's on the left hand side, a big shop. Please see the picture of the shop front.
Let's go.
Drive a little further and you will reach the entrance to the waterfall. It's easy to find, just look at the map that the accommodation provided. It's on the right-hand side.
Motorcycle parking fee is 2,000 dong per motorcycle and 1,000 dong per person.
Entrance fee to the waterfall is 20,000 dong per person.
Group photo please, hurry!
We loved the roller coaster so much that we rode it twice. The first time was a one-way trip for 40,000 dong, and the second time was a round trip for 50,000 dong. In total, it cost us 90,000 dong.
How much fun can it be? Actually, no. The first round was so scary that I kept braking all the time. It wasn't satisfying. So in the second round, I sat with you, Ton, so I wouldn't have to touch the brakes. It was so much fun.
Please share the video with us.
The descent will take you all the way down to the waterfall, which is as beautiful as the pictures.
Did we come to the wrong country or something?
Horses exist in every country.
The cable car is closed. I came here specifically to ride the cable car. I'm so disappointed.
Plus, the uphill walk was steep, so I felt like I was going back to POON HILL when I came back.
I'm tired from climbing up here, and now I have to pay 20,000 dong for a picture that was secretly taken of me. I don't want to buy it, but I'm afraid they'll post it online. Oh well, I guess I'll just buy it.
The truth is, I'm going to show off my pictures. Hehe.
Tired from walking, I stopped for a sweet drink for 20,000 dong (water is 10,000 dong).
Rode a motorbike back into town but didn't know where to go next, so stopped to eat first.
There is a delicious hot pot restaurant near DALAT MARKET.
We ordered a SET for 35,000 dongs and a Coke for 7,500 dongs.
First dish, light and easy.
And then... just watch.
I checked into the hotel, took a shower, and took a nap. Suddenly, I heard someone knocking on the doorknob. I woke up in shock and thought, "How did the staff get the key? Why? What's going on?" I was so angry. They said they were looking for something that the guest who stayed the previous night had forgotten. Then, both the staff and the guest who stayed the previous night came in and started looking for the item. I mean, I'm here! Hello! Can you see me? So I started COMPLAINING like crazy. It was so not okay.
I'm not in a good mood. I think I'll go out and get some coffee.
Riding a motorcycle aimlessly, honking the horn continuously, with no destination in mind. I came across a very cute shop. They told me there were no seats available, so I asked them if they could recommend a cute shop to sit in. They were very kind and pointed me to the BICYCLE CAFÉ'. Oh my god, it was amazing! The shop is good. SEARCH the name and then GOOGLE MAP it. You have to come here!
In that corner over there.
The shop is well-decorated, the coffee is delicious, and the owner is very friendly and approachable.
Capture every angle
One glass and we're sitting here until the evening, haha.
DIP COFFEE 40,000 VND for espresso 25,000 VND. We ordered yogurt for 20,000 VND and plain water for 15,000 VND.
If you can't eat, you'll have to bother him again.
It looks like this.
My stomach is growling, and I'm about to head out to find a place to eat. But my eagle eyes caught something... what are those sticks in the display case? Is that grilled food? Let's go take a look.
It's right next to the red shop, just a few steps from the coffee shop.
Let's change this to a review of a different restaurant, shall we? Hehe.
The shop is a small alley, going straight in is a table, placed in a single row. Most of the customers are teenagers. That's it, this shop must be a gathering place for teenagers in DALAT.
The way to order food is to choose the skewers you want. There are pork, mushrooms, duck, and chicken. Choose and put them in the basket, pay for it there, and then walk to find a seat. Most skewers cost 10,000 VND, but if the ingredients are expensive, the price will go up a bit. For example, squid skewers cost 30,000 VND. We got 5 skewers.
A can of beer costs 15,000 dong. It's your own neck, isn't it? Ice is free. That's what's good about it.
Once you have ordered, the owner will bring out a stove and light it for you. Then you can grill the food yourself.
The atmosphere is right.
Eating from dawn till dusk, ordering again and again.
Let's imagine together. The air is getting cooler, and we're sitting around sipping cold beers. The smell of barbecue smoke is all around us, and it's stuck to our hair. It's really smelly, especially since I just washed my hair, but I don't mind. I don't know what they marinated it with, but it's delicious.
I noticed that the dipping sauce here always comes with a kind of salty pepper powder. It's so delicious that my friend and I bought a dozen bottles to take home. We've been back for two months and haven't finished a single bottle yet. What can I say? We got carried away.
We had so much fun drinking and grilling fish that we didn't want to get up. But wait, we only went to one place today. Let's go to another one. I have nothing left to review. I promised my followers. Get up, get up.
Let's move on to DALAT MARKET.
The parking lot is a bit dark.
Who wants to go to the bathroom, go through the roundabout
Then walk up the high stairs, it's on the left. Put 2,000 dong in the slot, put it in, don't cheat.
DALAT MARKET is a market with a lot of food and things to sell, but it's all the same in every store.
Day 2 (continued)
Flowers are coming.
After walking for a while, I didn't know what to buy, so I stopped by for some seafood.
We ordered a dish of crab claws for 80,000 dong.
Oysters are priced per piece at 20,000 dongs.
Actually, I'm already full from the seafood, but the crispy pancake looks delicious. It's 15,000 dong, so let's get it.
Another piece of cake
There's nothing to do, let's go back to the hotel. But the group is not sleepy yet. What should we do? There's a restaurant next to the hotel. Let's park the car and walk over for a bit. It'll be safer on the way back. Don't drink and drive.
The shop is located at the entrance of the hotel. If you are coming from the hotel, walk to the left and it's right on the corner. I saw it during the day.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, we ordered various dishes and began eating. Suddenly, a commotion erupted, not involving our group but a family drama unfolding before our eyes. A husband arrived with his mistress, and his wife caught them red-handed. A loud argument ensued, attracting the attention of the restaurant staff who likely called the police. As soon as the officers arrived, the situation calmed down instantly. Everyone stopped and dispersed. It seems that people here have a strong fear of the police, suggesting that the law is strictly enforced.
The atmosphere inside the shop
Full set of equipment
Damage to grill + beer 100,000 dong
We ate until late at night, then remembered that we had to travel to MUI NE early tomorrow morning. Go to bed early, kids.
Another picture, right? The beer here is
Accommodation
VILLATHOL HOTEL is in a good location. The rooms are okay, spacious and clean, but the staff is as I mentioned before. If I go again, I probably won't choose this place. But when I went, it was very close to the day, and the other places that could accommodate 8 people were all full, so I had to choose this place. JEEP desert, big lobster.
Day 3 MUI NE'
It takes about 5 hours from DALAT to MUI NE'. The seats are not very wide.
There is a 1-time stop to use the restroom, rest the car, and take some photos.
At the bus station, we need to hurry to book the 8 am bus back to HO CHI MIHN tomorrow. Because if we miss this round, we might not make it in time for our flight back to Bangkok. The ticket price is 220,000 dong.
After reading some reviews before going, we decided to rent a motorbike to ride to the desert ourselves. Or we could buy a jeep tour with a driver. Because we wanted to be cool, we chose the latter option. We bought a HALF DAY TOUR for 200,000 dong per person. The JEEP can seat 8 people.
Driver tip $1 each
We took a taxi from the bus station to NHAT QUANG GUEST HOUSE for 65,000 dong. The fare was metered and the taxi could accommodate 4 people.
16,250 dong each
We arrived at Chokdee Resort and luckily there was a room available so we could check in right away. After we unpacked, we went out to find something to eat.
While waiting for the JEEP to pick us up, we walked to the left of our accommodation and found a restaurant. We ordered pho again, which we love and could eat every day. A bowl costs 35,000 dong, and a Lipton tea costs 12,000 dong.
The dogs in Vietnam all have faces like this, they are so cute.
The car has arrived, on time as always.
The first stop was MUI NE FISHING VILLAGE, where we took photos for quite some time.
And then continue to WHITE SAND DUNES in the end.
The view along the way is beautiful again.
Renting an ATV costs 300,000 dong for two people. However, a staff member will ride with you and you will not be allowed to drive yourself.
But we can take individual photos.
They will let us take pictures.
Continuous photos in case anyone sees and gets an idea.
Too much? Not yet.
It takes a lot to get each picture.
Social Power
The best sandals, I confirm.
--Just paste one video--
TIP : While you're out racing, it's a good idea to leave your belongings with a friend. And hold on tight!
After WHITE SAND DUNES, we continued to RED SAND DUNES.
The two places differ in the color of the sand, as the name suggests.
I recommend that if you want to take beautiful pictures, try to find a lot of REFERENCES. What angles do they take? What do you like? This will save you time because it's hot. And the actual shooting time is not very long. Unless you rent a car and drive yourself, you can take all the poses and angles you want.
While we were shooting, it started raining heavily. I thought it was a storm. Did I manage to take cover in time? Oh my, I got soaked from head to toe. My camera almost didn't survive.
After pressing the shutter, it started raining heavily.
On the way back, I was soaked and cold, so I stopped by the accommodation to take a shower before going out to eat a couple of lobsters.
After taking a shower and getting dressed, I asked the hotel to call a taxi for me. I told the driver that I wanted to eat seafood and asked him to recommend a good restaurant. The taxi driver took me to this restaurant.
What would you like to eat? Choose anything you like. Fresh seafood is displayed in front of the shop.
Believe it or not, all of this cost 600,000 dong per person, and the beer cost 10,000 dong per person. It's very cheap, and all the dishes are large.
For the size of the lobster we ordered, in Thailand it would cost 3-4 thousand baht per piece, but here it's less than a thousand. 😭😭😭 I'm drooling just thinking about it.
After dinner, I called a taxi from the front of the restaurant to my accommodation. It was only nine o'clock, but I couldn't sleep. We went out and sat in a circle outside the venue again.
NHAT QUANG GUEST HOUSE is a beachfront resort with a swimming pool, a pleasant atmosphere, spacious and clean rooms, both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned. It's a pity we couldn't stay another night. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, they offered the best exchange rate in Vietnam, haha!
Travel, eat cake, travel.
7.45 a.m. The car is waiting in front of the accommodation. It's really fast. From MUI NE' to HO CHI MIHN it takes about 6 hours.
Sit back and relax.
Slightly blurred
Eat fruit like the Vietnamese. They look so thin and have good figures. Let's try it.
Along the way, Peach kept taking pictures, so we have been posting them as we go.
Toll booth
Luggage-free, walk straight to the left. At the corner, you'll find a pho restaurant. I don't know if it's famous, but the taste is quite good. The price is 60,000 dong, and a cup of tea is 3,000 dong.
Cupcake price 70,000 dong
A LIME SODA costs 50,000 dongs, and coffee is around the same price.
Location: If you are facing BEN THANH MARKET, walk to the right and go straight. The shop is on 2 floors.
The ground floor sells clothes. The style is similar to a clothing store in the DAIKANYAMA district of Tokyo. It's like a curated selection of clothes.
After that, they took turns walking to buy souvenirs at BEN THANH MARKET.
There are no other souvenirs. The items are similar to those found in Pratunam, but the prices are much higher. If you want something, bargain hard. Aim for more than half off, and you're sure to get a good deal.
TIP: When taking the bus in Vietnam, it's best to have the exact fare ready. Sometimes they won't give you change. Luckily, I read reviews beforehand and asked loudly how much it was. As soon as I paid, I asked for change. The ticket collector's face looked like they were from Thailand, haha! Don't even think about trying to cheat me out of my money. I'm the admin of the "Traveling on a Budget" page, so don't even try it.
After checking in at the airport, I went downstairs to eat a chicken combo while waiting for my flight. I felt relaxed.
It's been over two months since I've been back, and I've only just gotten around to writing this review because I couldn't think of anything to write. All I did was eat and eat. But since I promised I would, I've tried to put together some information that might be helpful. I hope it's useful for friends who travel in the same way. Thank you.
See you again when a new trip arises.
Thank you for following.
