KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

This trip we went to the end of January 59, but booked in November 58.

This decision to go to Malaysia started by chance…

We opened the AirasiaGo website and started searching for countries and dates. We found that Kuala Lumpur had a very attractive price, so we booked it even though it wasn't on our list.

At that time, we didn't know what to do in Kuala Lumpur, but we had already booked our tickets, so we had to find something to do. Haha.

Budget

Round-trip ticket + accommodation 3,376 baht/person

Prepare 5,000 baht per person. **This is per person, so we will have some left over.**

Let's get started.

Hello Kuala Lumpur!

  • Our plane landed around 10:15 AM. We went through immigration, got our luggage, and then met up with a friend (who works here and volunteered to show us around for a day).

- Let her buy a SIM card first.

- Our friend recommended buying a U Mobile SIM card, which is a SIM card for internet use only (this is what we need!). The price should be around 300-400 Thai baht, if I remember correctly. There is a shop in Airpot where you can buy it.

  • After that, we bought bus tickets to go into the city together. Yay!

- There are many bus companies to choose from, they are all pretty much the same. But my friend told me to look at the time, whichever company has a departure time closest to what we want, we should buy from them. We bought Aerobus tickets for RM11 each (about 90 baht).

- The bus will arrive at KL Sentral, where we need to take the Monorail to get to the hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Ambassador in the Bukit Bintang area, which was very convenient. It was close to the station and the mall, so we were very comfortable.

- It only takes 5 stations to reach your destination!

- We'll drop off our luggage first, as the hotel allows check-in at 3:00 PM.

- After that, we went to eat at Pavillion, the largest mall in the area.

  • After a satisfying meal, we continued our journey to Batu Caves.

  • Take the Monorail back to KL Sentral and then take the KTM Komuter to Batu Caves station. It's very convenient and the ticket price is only RM2.60 per person (about 20 baht). It won't take long to get there.

- Along the way, there were shops selling snacks, mostly selling the same things, which we didn't know what they were. We later found out that they were Indian snacks.

- Batu Caves is located about 12 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. It is a highly revered Hindu temple. The highlight is the 42.7-meter-tall statue of Lord Murugan.

- The area around before the entrance

- It's time to walk up. Huhuhu, it's quite tiring to reach the top.

- When you walk up to the top, you will find a cave. Then walk through to the other side and you will see this picture. The light shines down from the mouth of the cave above. It's beautiful. If you've just been to Malaysia for the first time, I recommend coming here. You'll see Malaysia from a different angle.

- After taking the photos, we walked down together.

- For those who are afraid of heights, it is recommended to hold your friend's hand and walk behind them. Try not to look down, haha. Look at the sky, look at anything else...

- The day we went, it seemed like they were having some kind of ceremony. There were children and adults walking up and down all the time.

- We then took the KTM Komuter back (price the same as the way there)

- Let's take a look at the food here.

- Overall, it's considered cheap and delicious. We mostly eat at the mall because there are only malls near the hotel, haha. What did we eat? Please watch...

- The first meal of this trip, Nana's green tea restaurant, Pavillion

- We opted for the set menu, which included a main course, soup, and a drink.

- First dish: Minced chicken with onsen egg on rice

- Llao Frozen Yogurt, Pavillion: This frozen yogurt is sooooooo delicious, I can't emphasize enough how good it is. No matter what toppings you choose, it's always amazing. I ate it two days in a row!

- Day 1 Medium size, topped with mango, chocolate granola, and drizzled with chocolate sauce

- Since I posted a picture on Facebook, my friends told me that the white chocolate sauce was very good, so I ordered it the next day!

- And it's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really good.

- Cheese Tart & Cheese Bread from Tous Les Jours

- The shop is located on the corner of the street in the Bukit Bintang area. It's amazing! Anyone who says you have to go to Japan for cheese tarts, I'm telling you, Malaysia is just as good.

- This menu is also delicious, but I can't remember the name. It's a toasted bread with spinach and cheese filling.

- Besides being delicious, the shop is also very cute. The top floor is also a hotel.

- In the morning, there were a lot of people and the sales were very good. On our way back, we were going to buy another cheese tart, but it was sold out in the afternoon.

  • Avocado-filled donuts at J.CO Donuts, Pavillion

- This famous local restaurant serves dishes with a decent flavor. They are sweet with a hint of bitterness.

- Madam Kwan Restaurant, Pavilion

- The first menu is Nasi Bojari, a lightly spiced fried rice served with fried chicken, shrimp, and stir-fried beef. It is suitable for those who are not familiar with the smell of spices but want to try Malaysian food.

- The dish on the left, I can't remember the name of the menu, it's similar to our Pad Thai, it's delicious with the sauce and they give you a lot of it.

  • Another dish is shrimp wonton soup.

  • Topped with fried bananas and vanilla ice cream

- McDonald's pineapple ice cream is soooo delicious! It smells like pineapple and has a milky taste. I love it soooo much! But I saw a picture of it in a red cone, but when I ordered it, I got it in a regular cone. I guess they must have run out of red cones, haha.

- Japanese food in Kuala Lumpur is a real treat for us. It's delicious, easy to find, and affordable considering the quality. We ate it several times during our stay.

- Ending with this shop Lepaq Lepaq, Ceylon Road

- For those who are cafe tour enthusiasts and Hipster fans, this is definitely a must-visit.

- The shop is very cute.

- We sat on the 2nd floor by the window, with a view of the mountains.

- The menu we ordered.. Rainy Day Coffee is black coffee served with cotton candy, which is eaten instead of sugar.

  • Tourist Spots in Kuala Lumpur

  • A must-see is the Petronas Twin Towers. Go at night when the towers are lit up, it's beautiful. During the day, it's also beautiful in a different way. If you don't come here, you haven't been to Kuala Lumpur!

- There's also Suria Mall there, which is huge. It takes several hours to explore it all.

  • Take the LRT to KLCC station.

  • Masjid Jamek, the oldest mosque in Malaysia.

- When we went there, we saw that there was construction going on in the area, so we thought it was closed for repairs and didn't go in. Then we found out later that we had walked to the wrong side TT

- Take the LTR to Masjid Jamek station, walk a little further and you'll find it.

- KL Tower glimpsed from afar along the way

  • Closing with a picture at the airport before leaving. The sky is beautiful.

Our 3-day, 2-night trip to Kuala Lumpur has come to an end. At first, I thought Malaysia was a country with nothing to offer, but after experiencing it for myself, I loved it. The transportation is convenient, the food is delicious, and we will definitely be back next time. Thank you for following us.
