Hello everyone, as I had the opportunity to travel to Chiang Mai for a business trip at the end of last month, I was able to try out some delicious food and stay at several new hotels that I had never been to before. I will be gradually sharing my reviews with you all, so please stay tuned. Some of the reviews will be SRs, while others will be CRs. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to ask me.

Let's start with the first hotel I had the opportunity to stay at, the Dusit Princess Chiang Mai. I must say that in the past, although I have used Dusit hotels for dining, banquets, or attending events, I have never had the opportunity to stay there before. So this is my first time staying at a Dusit hotel.

Dusit Princess Chingmai is a mid-sized hotel with a total of 198 rooms and a fantastic location. It is situated right at the Night Bazaar, making it ideal for international tourists or business travelers who have a packed schedule during the day and want to spend their evenings relaxing and shopping for souvenirs without having to travel far.

The hotel's facade is as shown in the picture. There is a spacious drop-off zone in front of the hotel that can accommodate 2-3 cars simultaneously. Hotel staff are always on hand to assist guests promptly and efficiently. My sister, who dropped me off at the hotel, was so impressed with the service that she couldn't help but compliment it.

For those who are traveling from Chiang Mai Airport like me, you can take a taxi from the airport to your hotel for 160 baht per person (maximum of 4 people). The journey takes about 10-15 minutes.

Upon exiting the car and entering the hotel lobby, the first thing that makes you feel like you're in a Dusit hotel is the presence of Thai art and decor. In Chiang Mai, this includes Lanna-style Thai art. This starts with the two lion statues in front of the door and the beautiful tung flags hanging from the ceiling in the hallway.

In addition, the lobby area has a lot of chairs for relaxing or waiting for friends. The atmosphere is very inviting, with beautiful decorative pillows and a wide selection of books to read in various languages, including Thai, Chinese, and English.

For those who are waiting for their friends and are hungry or want to sit and chat for a long time, there is also a Dusit Gourmet shop in this area that sells drinks and cakes. Judging from the look of the cakes in the cabinet, I think they should taste pretty good.

After we finished exploring the lobby, it was time to check in and explore the room. The check-in process was quick and the staff was very helpful. After checking in, I received my key card. The room I stayed in was room 318, which is a Deluxe Room.

Of the 198 rooms at Dusit Princess Chingmai, there are a total of 6 room types as follows:

- Superior Rooms with an area of 26 square meters, a total of 36 rooms

- Deluxe Rooms with an area of 32 square meters, a total of 114 rooms

- Executive Plus with an area of 32 square meters, there are a total of 32 rooms

- Junior Suites with an area of 46 square meters, a total of 8 rooms

- One-bedroom Suites with an area of 60 square meters, a total of 6 rooms

- Two-bedroom Suites with an area of 100 square meters, a total of 2 rooms

Today, in addition to the Deluxe Room where I stayed, I will also take you to see the Executive Plus and One-bedroom Suites. Let's start with the Deluxe Room first.

Upon entering the Deluxe Room, the layout resembles that of most hotels, with a wardrobe on the left and a key card slot and bathroom on the right. To the left of the key card slot are two buttons: "Do not disturb" and "Make up room." Pressing these buttons activates corresponding lights outside the room, which I found very convenient as it eliminates the need to hang a sign on the doorknob like in many other hotels.

For a general overview of the room, it looks like this. This type of room has both a double bed and a twin bed. The room I stayed in had a double bed.

The room is fully equipped with basic amenities, including a sofa, work desk, TV, refrigerator, hot water dispenser, tea and coffee, bottle opener, ice bucket, slippers, safe, flashlight, and hairdryer. The slippers, safe, flashlight, and hairdryer are located in the wardrobe.

The flip-flops are thin, so they are only suitable for short-term daily wear. The refrigerator is located in the cabinet under the TV. In this cabinet, there is also an ice bucket and a bottle opener.

Regarding in-room beverages, the hotel provides a total of 3 bottles of mineral water, which is more than most hotels. One bottle is placed at the bedside, and the other two are placed on the work desk at the end of the bed, along with a tray containing tea, coffee, glasses, a hot water maker, and reading materials.

On the right side of the bedside table, there is a light switch to control the lights in the room. It is convenient and can be slid away neatly. However, the lights in this room are not very bright. They are more like a soft glow, tending to be a little dark because the main light source is only the lamps at various points. It is understood that the hotel intends to create a certain mood and tone, which is suitable for quiet relaxation.

Before we take a look at the bathroom, let me show you a few more pictures of the room.

Alright, let's take a look at the bathroom. The bathroom size here is just right, not too narrow or too wide. It comes fully equipped with towels, face towels, toiletries, a telephone, and a bidet. This room does not have a bathtub, but it does have a shower with a clear glass partition.

Now I'm taking you to see the Deluxe room that I stayed in. The next room I'm going to take you to is the Executive Plus room. This room has a floor area of 32 square meters, the same as the room I stayed in, but the interior decoration is quite different.

Upon entering the room, you'll be greeted by this view. Overall, the room feels airy, bright, and more vibrant than the Deluxe Room. The bed area features orange pillows and colorful fabrics, creating a different mood and tone. If you prefer bright rooms or vibrant colors, you'll likely enjoy this one.

The desk will be moved closer to the window, providing more natural light. The sofa will be a single-seater, and there will be a small table in front of it for placing items.

The bathroom is similar to the Deluxe room, except that the shower area does not have a glass partition and a bathtub is installed instead.

The final room is the One-bedroom Suite, which has an area of 60 square meters. The room is divided into two sections. The first section, which you encounter upon entering, is the living room, which features a sofa for watching TV, a round dining table that seats four, and a work desk by the window.

Next to the entrance door, there is a refrigerator, a storage cabinet with a large glass door.

On the left side of the living room, there is a door that leads to the bedroom. Inside the bedroom, there is a bed, a wardrobe, a bathroom, and a stylish Thai-style seating area for watching TV.

The wardrobe area has a chair and a dressing area. The wardrobe in this room is fully equipped with various amenities, including a safe, umbrella, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, slippers, shoehorn, and a lint remover. It's perfect for executives or families who value neatness.

As for the bathroom in this room, personally I think it's a bit cramped. When you open the door, it feels a bit stuck and awkward. There is also a bathtub in this room.

Okay, now we've seen all 3 rooms. Next, I'll take you to see the swimming pool and the front of the hotel.

The swimming pool at Dusit Princess Chiangmai is located on the 2nd floor and is open until 7:00 PM. The pool is not very large, with a length of approximately 15 meters. There are beach chairs with umbrellas around the pool, and there is a small garden near the pool where you can relax.

In front of the hotel, there are small chairs for guests to relax on. In the evenings, there are also beverage vendors nearby. I saw many hotel guests sitting and enjoying the evening atmosphere in this area.

The area opposite and next to the hotel is also full of restaurants, including Mcdonald's, Subway, 7-11, Starbucks, Haagen-Dazs, Burger King and many others. So if you stay here, you won't have any problems finding something to eat.

During the day, these shops may seem quiet and not very lively, but when the vendors start setting up their stalls and shops in the evening, the atmosphere changes dramatically. This is because this place is practically the heart of the Night Bazaar. There are many shops selling a wide variety of goods.

We've already seen the rooms and the surrounding area. Now, the only thing left is breakfast. Breakfast will be served at the Jasmine Restaurant on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The buffet is open from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM, so there's plenty of time to enjoy it.

Based on my rough estimate, the total number of tables can accommodate around 120 guests. The overall atmosphere is clean and tidy, with orange decorations that create a vibrant ambiance.

The food line is laid out in an L-shape and offers a wide variety of dishes, including rice porridge, congee, noodle soup, stir-fried noodles, bacon, sausages, ham, bread and jam, salad, cheddar cheese, fried rice, stir-fried noodles with soy sauce, 3-4 savory dishes, various eggs, cereal, bakery items, yogurt, fruits, fruit salad, and tea and coffee.

One thing I was impressed with at the restaurant was that they had clear picture labels indicating which dishes contained pork.

In terms of the food's taste, it's generally average. It passes the test for breakfast, but there's nothing on the menu that I would say is particularly delicious or memorable. The dish that impressed me the most was probably the "gaow laa" (Thai noodle soup). I thought the portion size was perfect, the aroma was fragrant, and the meatballs were delicious and to my liking.

This salad bar offers three types of dressing: clear, French, and Thousand Island. The quality of the vegetables is fresh.

The Station has a wide variety of egg dishes to choose from, as indicated by the signs. I ordered an omelet and a waffle.

The part of the milk that is put in the cereal is very thoughtful of the hotel. Because there are both regular milk and low-fat milk to choose from. As for the yogurt, it will be Dutchy. But it's a small cup.

For drinks, there are a total of 3 types: pineapple juice, tomato juice and orange juice. The taste is good. As for fresh fruits, there are pineapple, watermelon, papaya, cantaloupe and melon, which are considered to have a good variety.

So, I've taken you on a tour of almost every corner of Dusit Princess Chiangmai. Now it's time to summarize everything we've seen. I'll break down the summary into the following sections:

Design: Given the hotel's age and the Dusit brand's mature, sophisticated, and understated mood and tone, the room designs and decor didn't particularly impress me as being modern or wow-worthy. They were rather plain, simple, and static. The exceptions were the Executive Plus rooms and the ground-floor lobby, which I found to be the most distinctive and impressive. Overall, this hotel might not be the best choice for young adults or those just starting their careers, as I believe this demographic would prefer something more exciting, novel, or different from the norm.

Cleanliness: The hotel was very clean and looked good. Both the common areas and the bedrooms were clean.

Amenities: The amenities are more than adequate for my needs. Many things are provided that are not found elsewhere, such as flashlights, shoes, ice buckets, and especially the One-bedroom Suites, which are very well-equipped. In addition, the hotel has a swimming pool and a coffee shop in the lobby. As for Wi-Fi, the hotel provides it in every room, and from what I experienced while walking around taking pictures of different parts of the hotel, the Wi-Fi signal is very good, stable, and fast. As for the elevators, this hotel has a total of 2 elevators. They are not very large, but the waiting time is not long because there are not many rooms.

Getting there: Dusit Princess Chiangmai is one of the most convenient hotels to get to because it is located right in the Night Bazaar area. This makes it easy for people like me who don't have a car to get around, whether by taxi from the airport or by red car, as this is a route that these drivers are already familiar with.

Sleep and Rest: In terms of the bed, pillows, softness, air conditioning coolness, and blankets, I have no complaints. My wife and I slept soundly.

Breakfast: The breakfast here is quite extensive, with a wide variety of options available. Notably, it is served for a generous 4.5 hours. The taste is acceptable, with no major complaints, but there weren't any particularly impressive dishes that I would consider must-tries.

Employee service: This is probably the best part of this hotel. The service of all the staff, from the staff at the guest drop-off area in front of the hotel to the staff at the lobby and other areas, is excellent. They are very polite, have smiling faces, and are very willing to help. It's truly worthy of the reputation of this hotel chain. This is something that I am very impressed with.

Summary: Dusit Princess Chiangmai is another great hotel option for those looking for accommodation in Chiang Mai with friendly staff and convenient location, especially for foreigners as it is located at the Night Bazaar, a popular shopping and souvenir destination for tourists. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of Kad Luang, a market selling delicious northern Thai food such as crispy pork skin, northern Thai sausage, chili dip, fried pork, and sticky rice. My wife and I tried walking there in the morning and found it easy and only took about 10 minutes. The hotel also offers 6 different room types to suit individual needs. In terms of value for money, the Deluxe room I stayed in was surprisingly affordable. I checked the room rates on Agoda for the dates I stayed and found that the price was lower than I expected. So, if you're planning a trip to Chiang Mai and find the location appealing, be sure to compare prices and see if it's a good fit for you.
