Hello everyone, from the last review where I took everyone to get to know the Dusit Princess Chiangmai Hotel, you can follow this link. https://th.readme.me/p/4305 The next review, I will take everyone to meet "Dimsum: All you can eat" in Chiang Mai, which allows you to eat for up to 3 full hours at an exciting price of only 399 baht/person Net. Okay, if you're ready, let's go together.
Date of consumption: Friday, June 24, 2016
Time: 11.30-14.30 hrs.
Number: 2 people
This dim sum meal is one of the services offered by the Dusit Princess Chiagmai Hotel. It is only available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. For those who have never been to Dusit Princess Chiangmai before, you can easily get there by taking a red car in Chiang Mai. I assure you that you will arrive at the right place without getting lost. This is because the hotel has been famous in Chiang Mai for a long time and, most importantly, it is located in a good location, the Night Bazaar.
Upon arriving at the hotel, proceed to the 2nd floor where you will find the Jasmine Restaurant. The restaurant boasts a unique blend of Chinese and modern aesthetics, with vibrant orange accents adding a touch of liveliness. Based on my visual assessment, the restaurant has a seating capacity of approximately 120 guests.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, we informed the staff of our reservation and were promptly escorted to our table. (I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you're planning to visit during peak hours. During my visit, we encountered a large group of 50 people, and without a reservation, we might not have been able to secure a table.)
The staff will then explain how to order food at this restaurant, which is quite simple. On the table, you will find a menu like this. If you want to order something, just write the quantity next to it. The staff will then bring the food to your table. However, the first 4-5 items on the menu are fried dishes, which you will need to pick up yourself at the station.

From what I counted on the menu, there are a total of 26 items. Of these, there are 5 fried items. The station where we have to go and scoop the fried items will look like this.

Overall, the taste of the fried food is average. However, there is one item that I was particularly impressed with, which is the fried taro. I feel that the fried taro here is not pure taro, but seems to be mixed with other vegetables.

Ah, I forgot! In addition to the 26 dishes we can order from the menu, there are 3 more dishes we can enjoy: the main course, soup, and dessert. These 3 items change every week. On the day I went, the 3 dishes were as follows:
Main course : Hokkien Fried Noodles
Soup: Sichuan Soup
Dessert: Sago cantaloupe
The Sichuan hot and sour soup was perfectly balanced in its sourness and spiciness, making it a great palate cleanser and a perfect break from the heavier dishes. The soup was generously filled with chicken, tofu, and shiitake mushrooms. The Hokkien fried noodles had a mild flavor.

For drinks, we were able to order a total of 3 items: Chinese tea, cold chrysanthemum tea, and hot chrysanthemum tea. For this meal, my wife and I chose the cold chrysanthemum tea. The taste was just right, not too sweet.

Alright, the dim sum dishes I ordered have started to arrive. Let's take a look at each one and see how they look and taste.

Let's start with the first highlight of this place, the salted egg yolk bun. This salted egg yolk bun is truly extraordinary in both appearance and taste. Its appearance is so unusual that I had to ask the staff what it was. That's because it comes in a square shape like this. @_@

In terms of taste, I must say it's excellent, truly living up to its signature status. The sweetness is just right, and the filling is a perfect blend of soybeans and salted egg. However, there's one thing I need to warn everyone about before trying this dish:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Paper. Because it comes with paper backing, but it's so thin that I didn't notice it at first and accidentally ate it with the bun. @_@ So before you eat every time, check the bottom of it to see if there is any paper stuck to it. T_T

Let's move on to another steamed bun. This time, it's a classic round shape with red pork filling. This one is delicious! The dough is soft and the red pork is fragrant and tasty.
One basket comes with 3 pieces, which I think is a bit too much for an all-you-can-eat meal. It would be better if it came with 2 pieces per basket. Too much food will make you feel full too quickly. ><

Next up are the shrimp and pork dumplings. Personally, I think the pork dumplings are just okay, but the shrimp dumplings are amazing. The shrimp is fresh and bouncy. (The dumplings with the green on top are the shrimp dumplings, and the ones with the yellow on top are the pork dumplings.)

Next up is another popular dish, har gow. The filling was delicious, but the dough was a bit thick. If the dough could be thinner, it would be even better.

Next up is the "Dolly Fish Stuffed with Pork". This dish was a hit with my wife and me. It's a unique menu item that you don't see very often.

For other items, I had the opportunity to try only 6-7 more, which when combined, I still haven't tried all the menus. But it should be around 80-90% of the total menu. The items that I have tried are as follows:
- Black pepper pork ribs
- Duck noodle soup with crispy wonton
- Steamed pork with salted egg yolk
- Seaweed wrapped pork
- Vegetable meatballs by Soppon
- Stuffed squid with pork
- Stuffed mushroom with pork
Overall, the taste of each item is considered good and passed the test. However, there are two things that I am not very impressed with, which are the Sophaphon vegetable meatballs and the roasted duck noodle rolls. The dough of the noodle rolls is a bit thick and the taste of the duck inside is not very harmonious with the dough.

Alright, after my wife and I had devoured dozens of dim sum baskets, we were both starting to feel full. It was time to try the sago cantaloupe. Without delay, after we told the waiter, the sago cantaloupe, looking like this, arrived at our table.
Overall, the presentation is very good. The finely crushed ice makes it easy to eat. Most importantly, the ice is made from coconut milk, which gives it a wonderful aroma. It's a great way to end a meal. If you like it and want another cup, you can always order more.

Okay, now that we've finished our dessert, it's time to summarize my thoughts on each item of this meal.
Taste of the food: Overall, the taste of the food is good. It's in the middle range, leaning slightly towards the positive side. There were only 2-3 items that I didn't really like. The dishes that I was impressed with and that I think people should definitely order are the salted egg yolk buns, the char siu buns, the shrimp dumplings, and the dory fish with pork filling.
Variety of food: Since we are having an all-you-can-eat dim sum buffet today, our menu will only consist of dim sum. If you are looking for other options or want to bring a large group but some of your friends don't like dim sum, this might be a challenge. In that case, I would recommend looking for a different restaurant. However, for those who are already planning to eat dim sum, this shouldn't be a problem. There are approximately 30 items on the menu (including main courses, soups, and desserts). At first glance, it may not seem like a lot, but in reality, it's quite a lot. I wasn't even able to try every dish. There is also a good variety of meats used in the dishes, including pork, shrimp, fish, and duck.
Shop Cleanliness: Clean, looks good, as expected for a hotel of this grade. The bathroom is also clean, tidy, no problems. You can say that this point passes comfortably, worry-free.
Service: Average to good. Even though there was a large group of about 50 people dining on the day I went, the staff were still able to take and deliver orders quickly. The only minor complaint is that I sometimes had to call them to refill my chrysanthemum tea.
Convenience of travel: For those who are not from Chiang Mai like me, the location of Dusit Princess Chiangmai is considered good. Because it is located at the Night Bazaar, it is easy to tell the taxi or red car to take you there, and you will not get lost.
Value for money: Normally, as far as I've experienced with all-you-can-eat dim sum in hotels in Bangkok, I have to say that each place, each restaurant is very expensive. The average is 800++ to 1,000++ per person. So when I had the opportunity to find an all-you-can-eat dim sum for 399 baht/person net like this, I was secretly impressed from the first time I knew the price. Although the taste and quality of the food may vary, but for the price I paid compared to what I got in this meal, I think it's okay, good value for money.
Summary: Dimsum All you can eat at Dusit Princess Chiangmai Hotel is another good option for families who want to spend time eating together during the midday on Saturdays or for business people who want to build relationships and talk about things that are not too confidential during the midday on Fridays. This is because the food quality is considered to be quite good, the price is not expensive, there are staff who take good care of you, the location of the restaurant is convenient to travel to, and you can sit and eat for up to 3 hours. This makes this place a good fit for many people. However, for families or groups of friends who have different preferences and like to eat a variety of food types, this restaurant may not be the right one for your group.
