Having worked in the Bang Sue area for over 10 years, I have had the opportunity to explore and sample the culinary offerings of various local establishments. Among these is the restaurant I will be reviewing today.

Come Home Café is a small restaurant located on the first floor of the U Delight 2 condominium on Prachachuen Road. It is important to note that this is U Delight 2, as there are many U Delight condominiums in the Bang Sue area of Prachachuen Road, which can be confusing.

Come Home Café: A Cozy Spot with Ample Seating

Come Home Café is conveniently located at the front of the U Delight 2 building. Upon arrival at U Delight 2, the café is prominently visible at the front corner. Despite its seemingly small size with approximately 10 tables accommodating 30-40 patrons, the café can accommodate larger groups of up to 15-16 people by arranging tables together.

Please note that the restaurant is located within a condominium complex. Therefore, it is necessary to exchange your identification card for a visitor's pass before entering. Once you have entered the condominium grounds, please drive around the complex as if you were returning to the exit gate. You will then find the parking area. Customers of the restaurant are required to have their parking pass stamped, which will allow them to park for free for up to 3 hours.

The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant, despite its modest size. The decor is stylish and inviting, with various seating arrangements. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including appetizers, salads, steaks, burgers, pasta, main courses, and desserts such as toast and ice cream.

For the dishes my wife and I enjoyed today, here's what we had:

1. Pork tenderloin steak with white sauce (108 baht)

  1. Stir-fried marinated pork with garlic (59 baht)

3. Chicken stew, Mom's recipe (55 baht)

4. Spicy Glass Noodle Salad with Fresh Shrimp (79 Baht)

5. Spaghetti with Shrimp (2 siblings) (125 Baht)

6. Riceberry rice (18 baht)

The beverage menu offers a wide variety of options, including soft drinks, coffee, green tea, yogurt smoothies, Italian sodas, herbal teas, and other tea varieties. The restaurant emphasizes that their herbal teas are made with carefully selected ingredients and boiled in-house, resulting in a less sweet flavor profile. Intrigued by this, I opted for the lemongrass and chrysanthemum tea, along with an Italian soda for an extra energy boost.

The drinks were served in mason jars, which added a touch of style and made them more visually appealing. The taste of all three drinks was excellent. The herbal tea was not too sweet and was very refreshing. The Italian soda was also well-made, with a good balance of fizz and sweetness.

The price of herbal juice is 20 baht per glass, while Italian soda is 29 baht per glass.

Let's move on to the food. I must say that the presentation of each dish was very appealing. The portion sizes were also just right, and some of the dishes were even quite large. When the food was served, the restaurant staff explained that the concept of Come Home Café is to make the food taste like it was cooked at home. Therefore, the restaurant uses clean and safe ingredients, does not add MSG, uses rice bran oil for stir-frying, and selects pesticide-free vegetables in every menu. Hearing this, my stomach, which had been quiet, immediately started to rumble with hunger.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Let's break down the flavors one by one. Starting with the pork loin steak with white sauce, I found it to be quite delicious. The portion size was generous, and the pork was cooked to a perfect tenderness. The sauce itself was well-balanced, though some might find the spiciness of the pepper a bit mild. However, this is not a major issue as the restaurant provides additional pepper for those who prefer a more intense flavor.

Next is the stir-fried marinated pork with garlic. The pork is tender and there is a generous amount of it. However, it is important to note that the pork itself is a bit salty if eaten on its own. However, when eaten with rice, it is a perfect combination.

The next dish is the mother's recipe chicken stew. I would like to have this with riceberry rice. The riceberry rice is fragrant, soft, and tastier than the jasmine rice served with the garlic-fried marinated pork. The chicken stew comes with large pieces of chicken, which is worth the price, and is well-cooked, making the chicken tender and easy to eat. The sauce is slightly sweet and sour.

The next dish was a spicy glass noodle salad with fresh shrimp. The portion size was generous, with 4-5 large shrimp and a good amount of ground pork. The glass noodles were perfectly cooked, with a nice chewy texture that we both enjoyed. The spiciness level was moderate, not too overwhelming but not too mild either. The chili peppers used in the salad were sliced, making it easy to remove them if you prefer less heat.

The final dish was the "2 Brothers Shrimp Spaghetti," which featured a generous amount of both shrimp and shrimp roe. The sauce that accompanied it tasted similar to the one served with the first steak dish. Overall, I found this dish to be another winner in terms of flavor. The portion size was also quite substantial, making it a satisfying meal on its own.

After my wife and I had devoured our meal, leaving us feeling completely stuffed, we decided to forgo dessert. Although we were tempted by the allure of Ete's traditional ice cream or various toast options, we recognized the need for moderation when our stomachs could no longer accommodate any further indulgence.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the cafe offers free Wi-Fi to its customers. The restrooms are located outside the cafe, under the condominium building, but they are not too far away. Finally, to conclude my review of Come Hone Café, I would like to summarize the following points:

Date of consumption: Monday, May 1, 2017

Time: 13:30 – 15:00 hrs.

Number: 2 people

Food Taste:

My personal experience with the food at this restaurant has been consistently impressive. All 5-6 dishes I tried today, as well as other menu items I sampled during my previous visits while working nearby, were delicious and of exceptional quality. The restaurant's flavors surpass those of many nearby establishments, and I would confidently place it within the top 20 restaurants in the area. Its inclusion on the "Krua Khun Hri" television program is well-deserved.

Culinary Diversity: Despite being a small establishment with a limited number of tables, the restaurant offers a wide and diverse selection of dishes, including single-plate meals, side dishes, Thai cuisine, and Western fare. Therefore, rest assured that even if you come with a group of 20 people, the restaurant's menu will cater to your entire party.

Shop Cleanliness: Clean and tidy, no issues to report in this area.

Employee Service:

During my visit between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, the restaurant was practically empty. As a result, the service was impeccable. The staff was incredibly prompt and attentive.

Convenience of travel: Restaurants located on Prachachuen Road often face two problems. The first is that there is a lack of public transportation, such as buses or trains, in the area. As a result, most people rely on private cars. The second problem is that most restaurants require customers to park their cars on the side of the road, which can be inconvenient and unsafe. However, this particular restaurant has the advantage of having a parking lot within the condominium complex, eliminating the need to worry about parking safety.

Value for money: This is a restaurant that I can confidently say offers excellent value for money. The single-dish menus, priced at around 55-70 baht per dish, are not expensive at all considering the taste, quantity, and the fact that the restaurant is air-conditioned. Other menus are also considered to be good value for money.
