Hello, I recently had the opportunity to try the Snowflake's stuffed snow ice, and I'm writing this review to share my experience in case anyone is interested in trying it out. Personally, I found this menu item to be quite unique, and the price was very reasonable.

Snowflake: A Unique Shaved Ice Experience

While Snowflake may appear similar to other shaved ice shops like Ice Monster, a closer look reveals subtle differences that set it apart. With two locations currently operating, Snowflake offers a unique shaved ice experience.

• Central Ramintra Km.1 Branch: 4th floor, next to Bar B Q Plaza

• Fashion Island Branch: 3rd Floor, in front of Major Cineplex.

Despite its unassuming name and small size, this establishment has been operating for eight years and consistently attracts a steady stream of customers throughout the day. This enduring popularity suggests that the restaurant possesses hidden qualities that set it apart from its competitors.

The Snowflake branch I visited today is located in Central Ramindra. The restaurant's appearance is as shown in the picture. For first-time visitors, head to the 4th floor and look for Bar B Q Plaza. You'll see the restaurant there. The Snowflake branch at this location is not very large, with only 3-4 tables and a bar counter that can accommodate approximately 20 people. The restaurant is primarily decorated in blue, with large posters highlighting the unique features of the snowflake dessert. We'll see how accurate these claims are later.

This restaurant boasts a diverse menu of 12 shaved ice flavors, ranging from classic milk and chocolate to refreshing green tea and mango. However, the true stars of the show are the Mixed Strawberry and Super Straw Banana flavors. The Mixed Strawberry (3rd item in the 2nd row) features a creamy milk base with fresh strawberry filling, while the Super Straw Banana (2nd item in the 3rd row) combines the sweetness of banana with the tanginess of fresh strawberries. These two signature flavors, often referred to as "stuffed shaved ice," have captivated the hearts of many patrons.

Snowflake offers six pricing tiers:

• 69 THB: Regular cup of snowflake ice with no toppings

• 79 THB: Regular cup of shaved snow with 2 toppings.

• 89 THB: Snowflake (Extra Flavor) Regular Cup with 2 Toppings

• 109 THB: Large Snowflake Cup, No Toppings

• 119 THB: Large cup of snowflake ice cream with cherry and 4 toppings

• 129 THB: Extra Flavor Snowflake (Large Cup) with Cherry and 4 Toppings

For this meal, my wife and I each had a cup of the dish. We shared a small cup and a large cup... I think it's pretty obvious who had which cup. ><

To illustrate the size difference between the large and small cups, I have chosen a large cup with a strawberry milk base and toppings of red beans, cantaloupe, lychee, and peach. The small cup has a fresh milk base with toppings of watermelon and orange.

Note: The restaurant uses environmentally friendly paper containers. This is a personal preference of mine, as I greatly admire businesses that are mindful of such matters.

For those who are not fond of my topping choices, feel free to explore the other 20+ toppings available in the display case. The selection includes jelly, longan, lychee, longkong, orange, peach, cantaloupe, blueberry, salak, chocolate balls, marshmallows, Oreos, koala's march, wafers, red beans, corn soup, and many more. I am quite impressed by the variety of toppings offered, but I would appreciate an even wider selection, especially for fruits. Adding 4-5 more fruit options would be fantastic.

Note: The shop informs that the toppings may vary from day to day. Some days may have fruits such as strawberries and kiwis. If you would like to add more toppings, you can order them from the shop for 10 baht per item.

Through my observations, I have noticed that toppings such as jelly, wafers, Oreos, and koala marches are popular among children. Children seem to enjoy choosing toppings from the display case.

Okay, we've gone through all the details. Now, let's try it! Personally, I think both cups I tried were delicious. The milk snowflake with strawberry filling in the large cup was especially tasty and my wife and I loved it. It's no wonder it's the store's signature dish. The milk snowflake was of the standard you'd expect at any mall store, with a normal level of sweetness. If you prefer something sweeter and richer, you can ask the store to add more condensed milk to the snowflake. They can add it for free!

The overall flavor of the toppings was satisfactory, not overly impressive but certainly worth the price. The standout topping, in my opinion, was the house-made red bean, which I highly recommend trying. However, it is important to note that this topping pairs best with the green tea shaved ice; choosing the milk flavor, as I did, may result in a somewhat peculiar taste combination.

The shop offers free self-service plain water. For those who are curious about the stuffed snowflake, let me explain it in a simple way with pictures. The stuffed snowflake is made by stuffing fresh fruits, such as strawberries, into large snowflake blocks before shaving the ice. When the large snowflake block is shaved by the machine, the strawberries inside will be mixed into the ice. As you can see in the first picture, the shaved snowflake for plain milk flavor is normal white. However, for the strawberry-stuffed milk flavor in the second and third pictures, the shaved snowflake becomes a reddish-pink with a healthy glow! I highly recommend trying this flavor if you have the chance!

The cafe claims that their snowflake ice melts slowly, and I agree. Although I didn't conduct any formal measurements, it took me about 10-15 minutes to take photos and videos, and the snowflake ice in both cups still looked almost as good as when it was first served.

Now, it's time to summarize our review of Snowflake. Let's go through each aspect one by one, as usual.

Taste: Despite the restaurant's relatively unknown name, the flavors are impressive and can compete with many established restaurants. The signature strawberry milk tea, in particular, is unique and innovative. With better promotion, this restaurant could attract a wider audience.

Food Variety:

While the shop specializes in a single type of dessert, the variety of flavors and toppings available is commendable. With 12 different flavors of snowflake dessert and 20 topping options, there is something to satisfy most preferences. The selection caters to a diverse range of customers, including children, adults, fruit lovers, and jelly enthusiasts. However, it would be beneficial if the shop maintained a consistent selection of toppings throughout the week, rather than changing them frequently.

Shop Cleanliness: Clean and visually appealing, no issues in this area.

Employee service: Although there were only two people, the service was prompt and efficient.

Convenience of Location:

Both Snowflake branches, located at Central Ramintra and Fashion Island, are inconvenient for me due to their distance from my home. I rarely have the opportunity to visit those areas. Additionally, neither location is accessible by BTS or MRT, making them less convenient for those who rely on public transportation. Therefore, I believe these restaurants primarily cater to customers who reside in the immediate vicinity.

Value for money: Considering the quantity and taste, I think this restaurant passes the test. The price is not expensive, but the taste is good, especially the strawberry-filled milk flavor, which I like very much. This is the flavor I would recommend to anyone trying this restaurant for the first time.

For those seeking a refreshing and flavorful dessert, Snowflake is definitely worth a try. You might just find yourself, like me, wanting to explore their other "Extra" flavors on a return visit.
