Greetings, friends! Earlier this week, I embarked on a tour of northern Isan. This trip is packed with stunning photos that I'm excited to share with you all, as always. First and foremost, I'd like to express my gratitude to the Udon Thani Tourism and Sports Office for their unwavering support throughout my journey.
This trip took us on a tour of 3 provinces, with the first destination being Loei Province. As soon as the plane landed in Loei, we were greeted by breathtaking views of mountains and mist as far as the eye could see. The first place I visited on this trip was the Neramit Vipassana Temple, which is located in Dan Sai District and took about 1.5 hours to reach from Loei Airport.
Neramit Vipassana Temple
Wat Neramit Vipassana is a temple located in Dan Sai district, Loei province. The temple is situated on a hilltop surrounded by morning mist. The highlights of the temple are the Ubosot and the Chedi. The Ubosot is a large and beautifully decorated building in the central Thai style. It is the largest Ubosot in Thailand. The Ubosot also houses a beautiful Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, which resembles the Phra Buddha Chinnarat statue at Wat Mahathat in Phitsanulok province.
The Mandapa of Phra Kru Phawana Wisutthiyan, a sacred place within the temple, is a place of worship... The first step I took into the Mandapa felt cool and magical. Inside the Mandapa is a wax figure of Luang Pho Maha Phan, Silawisuttho, or Phra Kru Phawana Wisutthiyan, who built the temple with the help of Buddhists.

After paying respects and making offerings at Wat Neramit Vipassana, I immediately boarded a vehicle heading towards my next destination, Chiang Khan District. This is a trip I have been eagerly anticipating, as it will allow me to experience the way of life of the Tai Dam people. Just hearing the name fills me with excitement for the culture I am about to encounter.^^ Tai Dam Cultural Village
The Tai Dam Cultural Village, located in Na Kaeo Subdistrict, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province, is a village of the Tai Dam ethnic group who migrated from Laos to escape war. The village headman told me that 70% of the population are authentic Tai Dam people who settled in Ban Na Pa Na. The village is a cultural tourism destination with a history of over 100 years.
After a brief introduction, we embarked on our journey through the Black Tai village aboard a distinctive "tuk-tuk" vehicle. Eager to capture the vibrant atmosphere, I secured a front-row seat. The experience did not disappoint! Our first stop, guided by the village elder, was a sacred ceremonial ground reserved for significant events. The site exuded an undeniable mystique.
After that, I took a tuk-tuk tour of the village, observing the way of life of the Tai Dam people. Most of the villagers weave silk and process it into various products. But what was the atmosphere like? Let's take a look at the pictures…
As the trip drew to a close, the Tai Dam people put on a welcoming performance called "Saepang" and presented a Tai Dam heart as a souvenir. Before leaving, the villagers prepared a variety of local dishes. Without further ado, let's dig in!^^
The first day of the Northeast Thailand tour has ended, but the trip is not over yet... I will continue to travel to other places. Please stay tuned for more updates. I guarantee it will be fun^^ The next review will take you to explore the path of the Naga witnesses. Oh my god!! Just listening to the introduction gives me goosebumps. Let's join the adventure and get goosebumps with the trip of "กำลังกิน กำลังเที่ยว" in the next episode. See you later!
Let's embark on this journey together.
