Last weekend, I participated in a project with DTAC Smart Farmer to visit and experience the life of farmers at the Wu Thong Banana Garden in Suphan Buri Province. I have traveled to many mountains and seas, but this was my first time experiencing the life of a farmer.
This trip, I will encounter what? Let's embark on a journey together with this review!^^ For this trip, I would like to express my gratitude to ITPC and DTAC for their continuous support throughout the journey…
At 9:30 AM, the wheels started rolling from Chulalongkorn University's Jamjuree Building, heading towards Suai Kluai U Thong in U Thong District, Suphan Buri Province. The journey took about two hours. Along the way, both sides of the road were filled with vast rice fields as far as the eye could see. The lush green scenery was a sight to behold. Rolling down the windows, we breathed in the fresh air and the scent of the rice fields. Soon, we arrived at our destination.

U Thong Banana Garden is a garden established by Mr. Chatree Raktham, or P'Aom, the owner of the garden, who wants it to be a comprehensive agricultural tourism destination. Upon arriving at the U Thong Banana Garden, P'Aom warmly welcomed us all, happy to have guests visit the garden. He prepared refreshments in a friendly, down-to-earth manner before starting to describe the various stories that immediately inspired us to fight on.

Before exploring the garden, Ms. Aom provided information about the origin of this banana plantation, which was very useful for those interested in agriculture. After the ceremony, it was time to explore the garden. Let's see what activities were planned.
Vermicomposting greenhouse.
Vermicomposting sheds are structures built specifically for the purpose of producing vermicast, a type of fertilizer derived from earthworm castings. These sheds are used both for personal gardening needs and for commercial fertilizer production. The text describes the process of raising earthworms, starting from the initial setup to the separation of vermicast using a locally-designed machine.

After visiting the vermicomposting facility and receiving a bag of fertilizer, I noticed several white dome-shaped structures in the distance. Intrigued, I led the team towards them, hoping to gain insights that could be applied to my home chili pepper garden. These structures turned out to be greenhouses dedicated to chili pepper seedling cultivation.
The Chili Seedling Greenhouse
The chili seedling greenhouse is a large structure where chili seedlings are grown. The guide, Aom, led us into the greenhouse and explained the process of transplanting the seedlings into pots. While it may seem like a simple task, it provided valuable insights into proper agricultural practices. This activity was undoubtedly beneficial, as it highlighted the intricate steps involved in producing a single chili pepper, from seedling to harvest.
A photo opportunity with the team before heading to the next station, a definite highlight of the trip. Leaving the chili seedling greenhouse, we took a leisurely stroll, soaking in the surroundings while jotting down interesting facts shared by Ms. Aom. It was a unique kind of joy, difficult to describe.
Greenhouse for growing tomatoes
The final stop is a tomato greenhouse. Have you ever picked strawberries? It's a similar feeling. With equipment, people, and everything ready, I rushed into the greenhouse before anyone else, hoping to pick a big tomato and taste it right from the plant. Sister Aom said that when you come here, eat as much as you want, don't buy anything, it doesn't matter. She wants everyone who comes to be happy and go back with knowledge. Just that, the owner of the garden is happy.
After completing our planned trip, it was time to say goodbye to the Wu Thong banana garden. Aom, the owner of the garden, gave me a generous amount of gifts from the garden. I left with a full stomach, a happy heart, and the energy to continue my work. If you are interested in visiting the Wu Thong banana garden, you can contact 087-6782392-3 to speak with Mr. Chatree Raktham or Aom, the owner of the garden. Don't miss my next trip, where I will take you on an exciting adventure! Goodbye!
Let's embark on this journey together.
