CAMP OUT - Korat

2 days 1 night

Today, I have another cool place to stay near Bangkok for you.

It's about a 3-hour drive away, but this trip took me about 6 hours because I was riding a motorcycle.

And this is the starting point of my national butt-aching trip, folks.

The route chosen for this trip was more challenging than usual, opting to cut through the heart of Khao Yai National Park.

This added time to the journey,

driven by a personal desire to ride up Khao Yai from the Prachin Buri side and descend on the Saraburi side.

This particular route demands considerable driving experience, for both cars and motorcycles.

However, once the trip is over, you'll find yourself reminiscing about it.

Of course, when traveling long distances by motorcycle to the market, it is essential to bring extra fuel.

Because sometimes gas stations are not available when we need them.

Let's cut to the chase and forget about the fatigue when we arrive at the camp.

The Warm Welcome

Upon entering the resort, we were greeted with the utmost warmth by the owners, a kind couple and their daughter, Fah. They treated me as if I were their own child, inquiring about my well-being and praising my journey. "You must be tired from riding your motorbike," the aunt remarked, her voice filled with concern and admiration. "You're truly amazing, son." Fah then took my identification card to check me in, offering a refreshing glass of chilled orange juice.

Upon entering the campervan, I explored every nook and cranny, curious about its features. I fumbled with the lights, calling out to my friend, Fah, for assistance. Feeling awkward, I stepped outside, worried about the air conditioning escaping. As I closed the door, it clicked shut, locking me out. Panic set in as I realized I had left the keys inside. With no tools to pry it open, I called out to Fah again (convinced I must be annoying her by now). Fah arrived and effortlessly unlocked the door with a twist. It turned out the door hadn't been locked after all. I sheepishly admitted my mistake, laughing it off.

After driving for almost 7 hours, I'm exhausted. I'll take a quick nap.

Waking up to a perfect evening, it's time for BBQ.

Everything was prepared by P'Fa, we only had to grill and eat. Okay, everything was ready, so we arranged it in a chic way. 8 barbecue skewers. When we ordered, we wondered if it would be enough, but when we actually ate it, we almost couldn't finish it all. (This is a lesson to learn: don't order anything when you're hungry!)

Enjoying an "outdoor" meal, when suddenly a huge mosquito appeared, making the atmosphere feel like we were in the jungle. P'Fa then brought us some insect repellent.

One night passed, as if it were a lie. I have to sing "Oh, it's Monday tomorrow!"

Upon waking up, after washing my face and brushing my teeth, the breakfast I had been eagerly awaiting arrived.

The sizzling sound of the pan filled the air as I cracked eggs and tossed in a generous amount of toppings. "More! Add more!" boomed the voice of P'Fa, who stood by, cheering me on like a boxing match commentator.

The meal was already served. I went to grab a spoon and some water for a moment. When I came back, there was a bowl of rice porridge and a notebook placed next to my fried egg. Huh? Did the car next to me make rice porridge to flirt with me? Haha, are you kidding me? It was actually made by the auntie. At first, I thought I wouldn't be full (thinking like this again). The fried egg tasted okay, like eating an egg, but the rice porridge was delicious with the pickled vegetables. Oh, I mean, the auntie. It was really delicious. It made the fried egg that I made myself fall flat.

The aunt whispered, "I got scolded by P'Fah."
I was like, "Huh?" (looking at the aunt with a questioning look?)

The aunt said that she was scolded by Brother Fa because she gave us a small cup of rice porridge. Oh, I see. The aunt smiled and said, "If you're not full, you can have more."

The phrase "กินไม่หมด ก่องข้าวน้อยฆ่าแม่" translates to "Not finishing your food is like killing your mother." This proverb highlights the importance of respecting food and avoiding waste. The phrase "ชัดๆ นี่ขนาดถ้วยเล็กนะเนี่ย" translates to "Clearly, even though it's a small cup." This statement emphasizes the small portion size, suggesting that even a small amount of food should not be wasted.

After finishing our meal, it was time for some photos. We got the shots you see here. The resort's spokesperson was also there, suggesting where we should take pictures. "Take them over there, it's beautiful over there," she said. It was the lady herself.

This corner is perfect for groups to gather around the fire and enjoy a party. It's free!

This section is a bathroom that gives the impression of being in a safari.

Farewell ...

The vacation is over, B1. Check out. We said goodbye with deep emotion. The aunt came to hug us and said, "You are my grandchildren now. If you pass by again, please come and see me." We bowed and said goodbye.

Drenched to the bone at the end of the trip.

The warmth of a family is what you will surely get here. The staff, including Fah, the aunt, and the uncle, are incredibly kind. As I was leaving, the aunt even said, "You're like a niece to me now. Come visit me again whenever you're in the area."
