A Scenic Escape: Exploring the Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam
Just a short distance from the bustling city of Bangkok lies a hidden gem: the Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam. This picturesque location offers a welcome respite from the urban landscape, providing a tranquil escape for those seeking a breath of fresh air and stunning natural beauty.
Reaching the dam is a breeze, with convenient public transportation options available. The journey begins with a comfortable bus ride from the Future Park Rangsit area, taking passengers directly to the dam's doorstep for a mere 130 baht.
Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the sight of the majestic dam, its imposing structure standing tall against the backdrop of lush greenery. The gentle sound of cascading water fills the air, creating a serene atmosphere that invites relaxation and contemplation.
While the initial arrival may be marked by a light drizzle, the rain quickly subsides, leaving behind a refreshed landscape and a sense of tranquility. The air is crisp and clean, offering a welcome contrast to the city's pollution.
The Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of nature and human ingenuity. Its impressive structure serves a vital purpose, providing water resources for the surrounding communities while simultaneously offering a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Our trip was planned to take a boat to visit the waterfall behind the dam. However, since we went on a weekday, there were few people, so there were not many people to share the boat fare. The uncle at the boat service point told us to go for a walk first. If there were people, he would call us. So we went for a walk and took photos.
The boat service fee is 1000฿ per boat, which can accommodate 5 people. But if you go on a holiday, there is a shared option with other people for 200฿ per person.
The boat will take us to visit 3 points, which takes about 2 and a half hours.
After walking around for almost an hour, my uncle called and said that two more people had arrived. I immediately replied that we would go.
Our boat was the first to leave that day. There were only four of us on board: me, my friend, and the two other people who had joined us. When taking pictures, there weren't many people around, which was great.
One last shot from this angle before boarding the boat.
Hooray! We're finally on the boat! The trip was worth it. We're enjoying the cool breeze as we sail along.
We have arrived at the first point. Oh! I forgot to mention that there is no phone signal behind this dam.
What are you talking about?
Don't run away from us yet. Let us take a picture of you first. 555+
Found another one.
What kind of flower is this? I've never seen it before.
The sight of the waterfall alone makes me feel cool. I really want to dive in and soak myself.
After taking some photos, I went down to board the boat, but it was gone. Did the uncle just leave us behind?
The uncle arrived after a while.
The lush greenery along the way offered a refreshing and cool ambiance, complemented by pleasant weather.
And then we come to the second point.
The scenery along the way is truly breathtaking.
And then we reached the final point.
And then it was time to say goodbye.
On the way back, we called the van driver and told him that we were going back. After a while, a van came to pick us up on the dam. The fare was 130฿. The ride was not long, and we arrived at Rangsit. The trip was over.
With just one day and less than a thousand baht, you can go on a trip. Go out and travel more, and you will fall in love with traveling.
